I knew she was lying. I knew she was with him while I was gone away to San Antonio visiting my family. I knew she cheated. I knew she was unfaithful. “Babe?” She said when she entered our shared apartment. I faked a smile and faced her. “How was dress shopping?” She rolled her eyes and took a seat on the couch. “It was tiring. We tried every white dress that we can find. Diana just wouldn’t agree on them. We have to go out tomorrow again.” She stood up and went to me. She kissed me on the lips and I returned it, effortlessly. With no interest. Those lips. Those beautiful pink lips. They lie so much to me. “I think she’s just scared. She wants her wedding to be perfect.” I answered. “You don’t mind we’ll be out tomorrow, right? Maybe it would take us until night just to find the right dress.” She sighed. I closed my eyes and clenched my fist. “I don’t.” I know she’s still seeing him.
