48 Getting married

"Big bro, I heard something last night," Persephone said as she took a seat next to Callum at the breakfast table. She served him a slice of bread while waiting for the answer. Only she knew how she spent the entire night without any clear answer. It was hard for her. It was very hard for her.

Behind them, Santiago put a hand over his mouth to avoid snickering. How could he forget that his wife wouldn't be able to stop herself from asking him the latest gossip? Too bad she chose a bad day. Clearly, Callum wasn't having a bad day. He knew better to know that his friend would only come to his house if he was having a bad or long day.

"What did you hear?" Callum asked, feigning to be oblivious. He knew that she heard the conversation between the four of them last night and she had to be asking about that Engelson girl. However, he had no intention to start the topic as he was already in a bad mood, to begin with.
