39 Chapter 38

(y/n) P.O.V. 1st Person

'It's so hot out here.' Everyone feels like they're dying in this heat. But what can you expect, it's summertime after all. The air is filled with exhausted chatter and cicada's chirping. "Is everyone here?" Konno-sensei calls. "If you finished eating lunch, go spread into your groups!" Him and Matsumura-sensei and another teacher are running the camp thing. What little excitement I had before has been crushed by the heat and my lack of a shower.

I let out a frustrated huff, 'When will this nightmare end?' I push through the crowds as they slowly begin to disperse into groups. "(y/n)! Toono!" Yacchan shouts at us excitedly, "Group E is gathering over here!"

"Coming!" I replied not so enthusiastically. Toono follows behind me with just as much hesitance.

When we make it over it's only Itome and Shikatani-senpai. "Where are the others?" Yacchan asks.

"They're supposed to be four second years, but one is resting for personal reasons, one is sick, and one is out because of food poisoning." I guess I'm the only second year, not that I mind. I clearly don't know the missing three anyway. But it's odd to only be the five of us. Groups are made up of six to eight people after all.

Itome scoots closer to Shikatani. His shoulder slouches as he whispers into the dark haired male's ear. "Hmmm?" Shikatani glances at him irritatedly, folding his arms across his chest. "I'm Itome, the group leader, nice to meet you," Shikatani says for Itome. He sounds far from it. More whispering exchanges every sentence or so as we await their instruction in silence. " First step is putting up the tent, and then the orientation. As we are lacking members it will be hard work, but we ask for your cooperation so that we don't lose to the other groups. Once the seals are gathered we'll have lots of meat and curry. For the meat's sake let's give it our best. Captain Icchan is very motivated, so let's do our all." His voice though is as dull as ever. But Itome is nodding ecstatically, applauding Shikatani. The three of us are pretty excited anyway, so I guess it's all right. But we're a weird group. "I will also fill myself with motivation," Shikatani adds, giving me a suggestive smirk.

I try to hold back my laugh, but can't when Yacchan exclaims, "Let's give it our best in the tent first!" I burst into laughter after with Shikatani as he stares at us so innocently. "What's so funny?"

I turn and whisper in his ear, "What kind of dirty things did you have planned for us in the tent?" His face immediately turns pink.

Itome hands Shikatani the supplies. "We need to get started right away so we can beat the other groups," Shikatani-senpai demands, "Then we'll have lots of time left over for fun."
