New family

Nobody knows what is going to happen next... My life had taken a dramatic turn.

Since my life began as a beggar struggling to feed his little sister and himself, an unknown man who was quite tall, probably 6.8 ft and looked, muscular man. He appeared out of nowhere in the trash zone and began walking towards us. "Are you struggling to survive and feed your sister?" he asked.

"Y-y-yes, may I have some money?"

"First and foremost, what is your name, kid?" I just hoped that if I said my name and my sister's name, he'd give us some money. Sorren Liston is my name, and Emma Liston is my sister.

"Ah, I see. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sorren Liston. Why don't you come with me? I can provide you with shelter and food."

Sorren paused for a moment before concluding that he and his sister are already in pain. It wouldn't hurt if we followed him. "Um, okay... I'm ready to follow you." He asked us to accompany him to his car, a jeep. When we got into his car, he told us that if we didn't wear our seat belts, we'd be in big trouble.

I guess I did the right thing because the speed at which he was going almost made me puke. We'd be accommodated and all in no time. Sorren began to enjoy the car ride after some time had passed. After all, anyone would appreciate the fact that they were finally free of that place.

The Unknown man suddenly spoke after quite a while "Kids, we are near to our destination." Maybe it was as Sorren could see a huge base! it was probably a military base. He was correct it was a huge military base.

"This is your new shelter kids", and before I could say anything few more people came approaching this Unknown Man addressed as something Sorren didn't expect.

"Welcome back, General Garen!" "Sir is back boys!"... it seems like this man is the chief here.

"Ok boys listen... I bought two more members of this family...please some here Sorren Liston with your sister"

"Wait a kid? doesn't he looks like a 5 years old kid?" "Now that you mentioned it... it seems to be so"

(Awkward silence for 10 secs)

"Umm N-nice to meet you all" Sorren tried to break the awkwardness even though he was hesitant to say.

"Yeah, nice to see you kid, wanna have something to eat? you seem quite frail" one of the boys said.

"No no no I don't need anything" *growl* "umm".

"Don't hesitate to ask anything from us Sorren. Here have some" the boy gave quite an amount of food to him to eat and for his sister. Sorren hasn't eaten anything good for quite a while that's why he couldn't hold back and jumped into it to eat up.

"General Garen, why is he in this condition? Did something happen to him and his sister?"

"Now that you asked me...I found these two kids in a random trash zone. I thought something bad might have happened so I thought of Helping them."

"I got what you mean General Garen, you are thinking of giving an opportunity to that two kid?"

"Yeah you got it correct"

Sorren felt good when he heard all the people here are happy with him and his sister. Then someone random came and said "Sorren a room is prepared for you and your sister, come with me...I will take you to your room" as much as nothing Sorren picked up his sister and followed that guy to their room.

Soon enough they reached and the guy said "here is your room, I hope you liked it" Sorren was happy with the room as it was much bigger in comparison to his actual needs. "Yes! I liked it, thank you so much for taking care of us like this." "No, it's fine Sorren, I am glad you liked it"

Soon enough, Sorren got adjusted to this place and the military people started calling for him "Sorren! come here and have your dinner"...this speech made him remember his mother who hasn't even died for long and his dad may have turned into ashes but he decided to forget all these stuff and move forward for now and take care of his sister. After all those, he rushes towards the dinner place. "There you are... come here and sit. have your dinner"

Sorren noticed that everyone is having nice talks and having fun while having dinner which really made him remember his family. "Hey, you seemed to be spaced out kid. Did something happen?" one of them asked Sorren. Sorren suddenly realized that he was spaced out and said " Huh, no it just that remembered something. Don't mind me." "Oh, I see, then it's fine"

General Garen was staring at Sorren and mumbled to himself "Poor kid..."

After everyone was finished and gone to their bed...Sorren said to himself while going to his bed "This is my new family I guess?"
