2 The Slave of First Heaven

"Can someone explain how this is living?" Lucifer exclaimed aloud.

"Hush!" A guard forcefully slammed him into the ground, shackles biting into his wrists.

"Damn fucker!!" Lucifer's wings burst out of his back as his eyes glowed green. However, the agony from the cursed seal quickly subdued his display of power.

"Haha, get back up, weakling," the guard mocked, delivering a kick that sent Lucifer sprawling. Gritting his teeth, Lucifer rose to his feet, glaring hatefully at the guard. With a sense of defiance, he resumed walking forward alongside the other prisoners from True Heaven.

Once, True Heaven was his home, a place of wonder and marvel. But Michael's betrayal had transformed it into a nightmarish landscape.

As they departed, fires consumed everything behind them, leaving Lucifer uncertain of how to respond. Though the old man had only been his father for a brief moment before dying, the emotional turmoil was undeniable.

"So... what do you think of our new useless little brother?" Uriel inquired as Michael rejoined them at the front.

"Exactly that, completely useless... just a normal angel, nothing special," Michael retorted, sheathing his flaming sword.

"He wasn't even a threat?... what a waste of time," Uriel sighed, visibly disappointed. She had a penchant for handsome and strong men, making her little brother's ordinary status a letdown.

Michael sighed, looking at the other two Archangels, sensing their unease. He glared at them, causing them to tremble before answering.

"N-No... it's just that Lucifer's lifespan is only 1,000 years... he won't ever be free until he dies," Gabriel confessed, avoiding the flaming sword dangerously close to his throat.

"So what? You feel sorry for our brother? It was either this or all of us being slain by that Jade Emperor... this was the better option, Father was a fool," Michael concluded before stowing the sword away and leaving the slave wagon.

Back with Lucifer, the wagons came to a halt, and he desperately needed some rest.

"Life is shit... I should have picked a better cheat..." he sighed, recognizing the potency of his cheat, but it required genuine effort to exploit.

His cheat granted advanced effort, multiplying the results of his hard work. He could learn nearly anything within a day if he put in enough effort.

The guard returned, interrupting his thoughts, kicking Lucifer with a sinister grin. The angels felt special for having defeated the "Son of God," unaware that Lucifer could have easily annihilated them without the cursed seal.

"When I get out of this, you're the first person I'm killing," Lucifer spat defiantly, standing up despite the pain and spitting blood at the angel's feet.

The angel's eyes widened, feeling the pressure emanating from Lucifer. Despite the revelation, the angel kept quiet, realizing that Lucifer outranked him.

Lucifer smirked inwardly, noting the angel's reaction. He scanned his new surroundings as they entered a portal of sorts.

"Holy... shit..." he whispered, marveling at the grand floating castles and sky-high buildings. Though enslaved, he couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of First Heaven.

This heaven was just the beginning. With different gods arriving sporadically, more heavens would be needed.

"Hey, get moving, little angel," the Nephlaems towered over him, but Lucifer smiled and flew up with them towards the castle.

He might not remain here forever, but he planned to learn as much as possible before embarking on his journey for strength and future events.

"Archangel Michael greets The Jade Emperor and Tagatha," Michael bowed towards the two authority figures responsible for the plot to destroy god.

"Pussy!" Lucifer's defiance rang out, refusing to bow like everyone else. He had no intention of showing deference to a red-haired man who seemed unable to open his eyes properly or to a Buddha-looking figure. Lucifer was an atheist, which might explain why he was now the literal devil.

The Jade Emperor, undeterred, approached Lucifer, seemingly looking him in the eyes. But his eyes were closed, so he wasn't truly meeting Lucifer's gaze.

"Sup, period hair, I'm Lucifer, don't forget it," Lucifer declared, though internally he shuffled and sweated, his yearning for a fight itching at him. He knew he'd be outmatched by the Jade Emperor, but the urge to engage in combat was undeniable.

"Hmm, your brother, huh?... he'll make an excellent slave for the gods of the First Heaven. We'll treat him well," the Jade Emperor smiled, applying pressure to Lucifer, ensuring there would be no escape from his new imprisonment.

...

"This... isn't so bad..." Lucifer muttered, rubbing his wrists as he lay down on the floor mat, gazing at the heavenly sky above. The breathtaking view only intensified the irony of his situation, enslaved yet surrounded by beauty.

As he stared at the sky, Lucifer envisioned the future and devised his escape plan. He knew he couldn't tolerate the cursed seal, and its removal was paramount before he could break free.

The enigmatic lathe door he had glimpsed while toiling away in the halls also captivated his attention. Lucifer was convinced that it concealed valuable treasures he could claim for himself once his scheme unfolded.

Realizing that everyone else was asleep, he assumed a pushup position and began his training. Physical strength was essential; skills alone wouldn't be enough to confront the powerful beings around him.

Unbeknownst to Lucifer, he had an observer in the form of Tagatha, who watched him from afar with a wide smile, jotting down notes in his journal, intrigued by the fallen angel's potential.
