She choose to make him pass a level of comprehension in magic. Just like magic is separated in categories, comprehension is to. Gold being the strongest and most rare of them all. Followed by crimson, silver, red, orange and blue being the weakest of all.

She was kind of scared to make him past this test not knowing the kid at all but she have to know if he's strong or not.
