1 CHAPTER O N E

Princess Lorelai wasn't treated like a princess, she was ignored by her father King Valdemar De Albert Hamilton. Lorelai's father was a cruel heartless king that didn't care about his first newborn baby simply because she wasn't a boy or that's what people thought.

It was humiliating for him to have a daughter as his firstborn child. How could a girl rule the kingdom after him? It didn't make sense and therefore he completely ignored Lorelai and acted as she wasn't his daughter.

And it certainly didn't make it better that his first love died giving birth to Lorelai. He blamed no one but Lorelai, he put all his anger towards her - even though he hadn't met her yet. He refused to meet her because deep down he knew that he would get attached to her.

But who looked after Lorelai if King Valdemar didn't? he left the job for the maids in a small house near his castle. Why did Lorelai live so close to the king? It was because of her eyes. The sea-green eyes only royals were born with would reveal the king's secret if he had let her live in another place.

4 years later he still hadn't met Lorelai - or as the maids called her 'Rory' for short. Rory was now a beautiful young girl with light honey brown hair and sea-green eyes that stood out the most. Rory looked exactly like her late mother Victoria Hamilton. Everyone in the house beside the castle could see it. And the older she got the more she looked like Victoria.

Not only did she look like the late queen, but her personality was also like hers. Queen Victoria had this bubbly personality whom everyone loved. That was also one of the reasons why King Valdemar fell in love with her.

"Mary, may I play in the woods today?" Rory jumped up and down looking at mary with her big puppy eyes. The maid couldn't refuse as she saw how adorable Rory was. Not only was she adorable, but she also had manners. Instead of saying 'can I' she used the word 'may'.

But did the princess know that was a princess? She did actually, in the house she was treated as one because all the maids had respect for her. She was of course their beloved Queen's daughter. Everyone in the castle and the house loved the late Queen, so hearing that her child was going to live with the house was a blessing for the maids living there.

"You may play in the woods today Rory, but you shouldn't get dirty, can you promise me that?" Mary replied. Even though Rory was a sweet girl with manners, she was still a child, she wanted to play outside with every chance she got. But playing outside could lead her to fall in the mud and get dirty.

"I promise you that" Rory kissed the maid on her cheek, which she did quite often. Whenever she got permission to do something, or if she got chocolate she would kiss the maids on the cheek. She knew that the maids loved it when they received a 'kissy' as she called it.

If only The king could see how precious his princess is… the Maid thought to herself.

But Mary wouldn't take the chance to show her to the King. The King was back to his heartless phase again. The only person who saw him let his guards down was the Queen, but after she passed away he was back again. Knowing King Valdemar he could and would kill anyone who he didn't like.

"Rory, you need to get dressed first okay?" The maid began to find clothes the princess could wear for going outside.

"Mary I want to wear the pink dress" Rory hugged the dress as tight as she could while she giggled.

"Alrighty, but you shouldn't get this dirty" Mary responded with a serious tone to show Rory that she meant what she said.

"Is big sister Emma coming with us?" Rory showed her puppy eyes once again. Emma was the maid's daughter. She was 13 years old so therefore she was like a big sister to Rory instead of a maid. Emma was the only person near Rory's age if you could say that.

"Yes I can tell Emma to come with you" Mary smiled, she couldn't possibly say no to her!

"Yay Big sissy is coming with us!!!" Rory ran around her room almost naked.

"But before that, you should get dressed, or else we're not going outside" Mary lifted the pink dress.

"Okaaaay" The princess replied.

After Rory got dressed she walked towards the exit while holding Emma's hand. She was so excited to play hide and seek with Emma. Mary was busy making a lunch basket. After all, she knew that Rory refused to go inside again because she was so happy to play around.

"Emma I want to find you!" Rory giggled.

"Alright, but you should count with my mom, or are you big enough to count with yourself?" Emma raised her eyebrows and smirked.

"I can count to 11!" Rory jumped up and down.

"Well, that could work, just do that 2 times okay?" Emma smiled.

"Go hide!" Rory pushed Emma lightly telling her to go hide so she could start counting. Emma headed off to the woods while Rory began to count. Yes, Rory could indeed count to 11 but her pronunciation wasn't perfect. She couldn't say seven, instead, she said seben. But it was cute because she was only 4!

"I'm coming!" Rory giggled while opening her eyes. She didn't know which way Emma was headed so she guessed her way.

As she continued to run towards the woods she noticed that she couldn't remember where she was. She knew the woods very well, but she hadn't been here before.

She wanted to run back again, but she didn't know which way so she continued to run forwards until she got out of the forest. There was a huge castle right above her eyes. It was almost identical to the one she saw in the book Mary had shown her.

She giggled while running around until she hit her head. She looked up to see what had hit her when she made eye contact with the scary black-haired man with the same eyes as her.

Besides the black-haired man, there was another man with a sword.
