Why fire?

King woke with a shudder, the carriage shifted as it had reached the stone road as it was a few centimeters high. King had yet to register that they - he and Ignatius - were no longer in the mountains but instead of a valley which was slightly hilly and went to the horizon. King was trying to be still so to fall asleep again but Ignatius notice him and said "have you looked outside yet, the view is amazing". King begrudgingly arised and looked out the window. First King saw the sunrise in the east, and then the valley. It was so full of energy and magic, all manner of animals King had never seen before running around. Every few yards or so had a small group of dark brown trees with leaves as green as the Green Sea from home. Then King noticed something strange. The carriage was pulled my two animals looking like they were made of fire. Twirling around the fire off their bodies hit the ground and sparked and bursting fire and then was trampled and reabsorbed by the remarkable creature of living flame. Ignatius taped King on the shoulder to signal to come back inside. King was surprised, he hadn't realised he had his head out the window and came back in. "What was that?" King asked for the creatures had ignited his curiosity. "Oh yeah… I shouldn't be telling you this but" he paused. His whisper being especially quiet, as if what he was saying was treason or something of the like. "There are a few paths a mage can choose, I myself picked conjurer, meaning most of my spells mean making stuff, include the spell to make a stead made of fire… I mainly choose horses because they're easy to in vision". King not understanding a word nodded and then asked "why fire"? "Oh that's because I am a gifted magician in fire, that means I can use fire base spell which are stronger then normal, to use magic. I can only use firebase magic though, but is 10 times more powerful than a normal mage when using firebase magic for my level. "You said I had magic so then what magic do I have"? King asked curious about his newfound power. "Oh... yeah about that… when we get to Khaumridge it would be best for you to not wear your ring. You see most people don't… how do I say this… um, uh. Most people don't awaken with so many elements so just don't tell to many- actually scratch that just don't tell anyone and I do mean anyone about your… Multiple elements. Okay King." Ignatius was clearly worried but King was honestly so confused about magical people treatment in this land. It wasn't anything like home, and King knew next to nothing about magic and that was only from what he had done himself because whatever Ignatius was talking about made no sense at all to him

Ignatius was worried. King clearly had no idea what Ignatius was talking about, King must have lived in a land where magic was rare or prosecuted because that was the only explanation about his basic knowledge of the elements and magic. In Khaumridge King was going to stick out and not just because of the way he looked, but Khaumridge was powered, ruled and lived my magic unlike wherever he was from. Then once he gets to school even with his awesome power he would be behind the rest of the students because the first year elemental students had already started this month. And Ignatius tried to forget about testing for magic and summoning a grimoire. All this and much, much more worried Ignatius but then King said "look it's there, it's Khaumridge I am finally here" the awe in his voice showed that Khaumridge was truly breathtaking. Ignatius decided then and there you were no longer worry about King's well-being.

If only he knew what would happen next…..
