5 Scene 4 : Mother

Lilian tapped her finger again. She paced back and forth. What should be done next? In the original script, after they greet each other, there was no continuity from their interaction. Because when the next day arrive, Lilian would return to her academy and at night before, she didn't even go to dinner to welcome Arthur's return.

Should she be present now? Lilian racked her brain.

"Anna?"

Anna, who was silent, followed her. "Yes, Miss."

"Where is mother?"

"Duchess has just returned from Marquess Quizt residence and is currently in conversation with the Young Master and His Majesty."

Lilian sat down, looked up and closed her eyes. She was sure that Arthur must be confirming her behavior with their mother. Some time before Arthur's return, a letter the servant sent to both Lesnerg couples arrived and they both returned to the Rose Mansion.

During this time, both of them lived in the Main Mansion in the center of town. Lilian remembered, long ago, there was a gap in their relationship because Lilian always said she was fine. She didn't want to burden her parents, and that choice made her suffer severely.

In Ha as Lilian went to see Agnelia and Noland, The Duke. When she face to face with them, Lilian immediately hugged them. Just like she did with Arthur.

But that time, Lilian came to them crying. Agnelia's face at that time was truly worth seeing. Agnelia and Noland had never heard of their daughter's distress or seen her daughter crying. That day, In Ha mobilized all of her acting strength and wept uncontrollably until sleep.

The next day, when Lilian opened her swollen eyes, Agnelia's face was the first time she saw. Agnelia looks worried. She asked her what had happened and accompanied her all day. From the role she had played, In Ha knew that a bad parent and child relationship was caused because no one wanted to break down their ego to get closer. In Ha chose her path. Even if she reluctant, there was no harm in playing a pathetic girl in front of Lilian's parents.

In Ha actually, never knew what it was like to have parents. She grew up in an orphanage. When she got her turn to be adopted, her adoptive parents, treated her like a trash. "Let me know when mother returns to her room." Lilian waved her hand, sending Anna out. Anna bent down and came out.

"Anna, has mother returned to her room?"

"Are you looking for me?"

Lilian heard Agnelia's voice. She immediately stood up and jumped in her arms.

"Mother!"

"Anna, bring tea for mother."

"No need, thank you. I just had tea with your brother. I don't want my stomach ache to drink too much tea." Agnelia stopped Anna from getting ready to leave. She took a sit beside Lilian. "What is wrong?"

"Is His Majesty still here?" Lilian asked cautiously. Agnelia observed her daughter.

"Hmm ... he will stay until dinner."

Lilian sighed.

"I heard what happened."

Lilian's breath caught in her throat as soon as her mother finished speaking. "What are you talking about?"

"Arthur is still rather difficult to adjust to your changes." Agnelia did not want to tell her the truth that her brother actually did not believe his sister had changed. Agnelia chose her words.

"Of course father and mother too. I feel like you're not my daughter. No, I feel like I've found my missing daughter. You never complain. Never cry. You're too perfect. I've even been afraid of you."

"Mother, what nonsense are you talking about?" Lilian clung to Agnelia's arm and leaned her head on her shoulder.

"You know what people say when they come in and out of this mansion?"

"What?"

"You are the perfect one for the Duchess position."

Lilian laughed bitterly. "If I were to become a Duchess, I would marry a duke and become a Duchess there. There's no way I would be a Duchess here? Unless I marry my brother?" Lilian hinted she would not take the position from her mother or anyone in the dukedom.

"Your perfect daughter is gone, mother. It is better for me to live quietly without having to think about politics."

Agnelia said nothing. "Your father will talk about that with you later." She said slowly. The atmosphere in the guest room began to gloomy. Agnelia patted her arm.

"Ah ... I heard you said something to His Majesty?" Agnelia asked in a slightly amused tone. "Did he get your attention?"

Lilian shook her head strongly. "No. He's strange."

Lilian would avoiding him as much as she could. In Ha wonder what made the original Lilian not love him. But based on his twisted personality, In Ha believed that's what made Lilian ignore the second prince.
