2 Realization

In the game God's World, there were three major guilds that are competing head to head to see who could be the dominant guild in the game. The guilds respectively were, The Lunatics, a guild comprised of the crazy led by a maniac with a strong legacy. The Unknowns, a group of people who conduct shady business including smuggling, assassinations, and trading of illegal goods. Their guild is highly secretive and very few people know the guilds leader much less his abilities. And lastly, the Sons of God. A guild backed by big financial companies led by a player with a legacy that is related to the god. Each of these guilds have their own motives for wanting to take over the game. The Lunatics just want to cause mayhem, The Unknowns's motive is unknown, and the Sons of God wants to monopolize the game for their own benefit.

As for Jaakobah was concerned with, he couldn't care less about these matters. Little did he know, that in the near future he's going to find a lot of trouble concerning these guilds. As for now, Jaakobah like any starting player needed to grind some levels. Jaakobah wasn't a complete stranger to video games. He had played different genres of video games in the past. He knew that in his current situation, the best choice. No, the only choice of action for him was to start leveling up to boost his power. Because he was in a starter village the level of creatures around the village were very low so that new players could actually kill them without being repeatedly killed by the monsters.

Outside the village were plains, endless amounts of grasses could be seen in one direction while the other directions were covered in lush forests. Each biomem / sections is delegated a danger level to warn players before entering it. These danger levels could be observed on the map as they are marked on the map. The map would also give some information on what to expect from enemy mobs in these areas. Currently, Jaakobah was standing just outside of the starting village and in front of him was plains marked with the danger level of "Very Low (Very few mobs will spawn in these areas and their levels will also be very low)". As for all other directions of the town were forests, however, their danger level were marked as "Threatening (dangerous for players that travel alone, poisonous mobs that tend to ambush players)." Currently, Jaakobah only had enough power to take on the Very Low danger zoned plains that was directly outside the starting village.

Jaakobah had yet to travel very far before he noticed a green slime approaching his way. The slime was colored light green and was hoping its way towards Jaakobah. With every jump it was land with a small squash, condensing in size before it would use that stored energy to rebound itself into the air again. The slime was moving at a small pace but with every second, it was getting closer. The slime was not relatively big but was tall enough to reach Jaakobah's waist. Upon getting closer. The slime was the most iconic enemy of all fantasy genres. Known for their sluggish movement and weak power, a prime target for beginning players. Now was the tricky part. Jaakobah was wondering how was he going to kill the slime. Unlike other players, he doesn't have any starting weapons or combat skills to use. The closest thing he had to a combat skill was the Joker Skill: Magical Cards, which he had no idea how to use it nor its ability. Fortunately, Jaakobah had a lot of time to discover how to use his skill given it wasn't that hard to dodge the slimes attack as it was very slow and predictable. A quick side step was all he needed to for the slime to miss its target.

Jaakobah, still having very little clue on how to use his ability decided to punch the slime. However, his punch had little to no effect as the slime was only pushed back without losing any health. "Still can't figure out how to use your skill hah," a cold mysterious voice called out. Jaakobah became alert immediately scanning his surroundings while yelling, "Who there, show yourself!"

The voice replied, "Sure." as soon as the voice said that, black smoke started to ooze out of Jaakobah's body seeming as if he was possessed by something. The black smoke eventually came together to form a floating black skull with blue goblin fire as its eyes. Jaakobah was shocked, partially because of the skull appearing from his own body but also noticing that this was the same skull that had swallowed him whole earlier.

Jaakobah asked slowly, "What are you?"

To that the skull replied,"I am the Joker's familiar, as you are the joker, I am your familiar."

"Huh?" Jaakobah replied with a puzzled face.

The skull replied, "Ignorance is a blessing, a blessing you will soon leave. As your destiny shifted the second you decided to play this cursed game."

"What do you mean?" Jaakobah replied with an even more puzzled face.

The skull patiently replied, "There is a basic law of reality that exists for all realities. That law is that human growth and evolution should be infinite. Because of that law in some realities there are ways to strengthen the body to an extreme degree. In other realities there exists what you might call magic for people to harness and train with. However, some realities are more discreet about it. For example, this reality. There is no known method here to harness the energy of nature to strengthen that body nor the ability to use magic. This reality got the bad end of the stick, however, as the law states. There must be a way for infinite human growth. So this reality was given something in exchange for lacking more obvious forces to train with. At this point, you might have already guessed what it was. It is this game, God's World." To Jaakobah, it was strange hearing information like this coming out of the mouth of a skull made of smoke that had swallowed him whole earlier that day. However, when really thinking about it, it would be a lie to say that Jaakobah was not convinced at all by what the skull had said. Thinking about it, who are the developers behind this game that utilizes technologies no one knows about. Why so little information could be collected on the backers of the game. If the game was some sort of divine intervention that would answer a lot of the questions Jaakobah had about the game right now.

After awakening from his thoughts Jaakbah asked the school, "If what you said was true, in some realities people are gaining god like physical strength, in some other realities people are becoming strong magicians, than part of us do we strengthen by playing this game?"

"That's very observant of you." The skull responded. The skull continued to say, "Humans here may not be becoming physically stronger or becoming more adept at using magic. In your reality, people are becoming stronger by strengthening their will power. All your actions in this game is being directly by your brain, not your body. As you grow stronger in the game your are also training your mind. Earlier I had said that this reality had gotten the bad end of the stick, however, that is not entirely true. Do you believe in reincarnation? Well I'm here to tell you that it is true. People who have reached the very pinnacle of existence in their reality are given the opportunity to restart in a different reality with different rules to progress further and broaden their horizon. Will power itself may not seem as versatile as controlling magic or having superhuman speed and strength, however, that will power will carry on to other realities. Someone who has reached the pinnacle of magic would not be able train with magic when being reincarnated in a reality where there is no magic like this reality. This goes for the body trainers as well. Will power on the other hand, is an exception to this rule." Jaakobah remained quiet, he simply didn't know what to ask next. Honestly, it would be perfectly normal for someone to blank out after hearing what Jaakobah was just told.

The skull continued to say," You're not the only person to know of this secret, in fact, everyone who has a legacy skill understands this a little. Though there legacies can only give very limited information on the subject. To get a legacy already requires a substantial amount of potential in the future."

"Then why does it seem like you told me the entire situation than?" Asked Jaakobah

The skull replied, "Because we are the exceptions of this realities rules."

"What do you mean?"

"You're the Joker, you're very existence defies the rules of this reality. The whole point of your existence is to ignore the rules and manifest your own path."

"Sounds interesting, so what's my end goal?" Jaakobah said

"To become the strongest player, beat the game, and uncover all of the game's secret of course." The skull bellowed

Jaakobah asked the skull one final question, "So, as my familiar. What could you do?"

The skull naughtly replied," At your level, I can't do anything. At this point, all I can do is answer some of your questions and give you advice."

The skull continued to say, "I've noticed that you still don't understand how to use your magic card skill. It's a simple task, imagine there being a playing card in your hands and try flinging it."

With those instructions in mind. Jaakobah cleared his current state of mind and did as the skull had instructed him to do. He imagined himself holding a card. Jaakobah opened his eyes and his bewilderment there was a playing card there between his thumb and index finger. Jaakobah could feel the faint sense of magical power oozing out of the card.

"Try throwing it at the slime" The skull murmured to Jaakobah.

Jaakobah bent his back, arked his throwing hand backwards, and flinged his arm forward which was holding the card. In the middle of the action, Jaakobah flicked the playing card outwards towards the direction of the slime. The card flew through the slime turning it into an unsettling scene. A gaping whole was now formed on the slime. What layed on the exit of the whole was the card impaled into the earth. A notification suddenly went off in Jaakobah's head, "You successfully defeated: acidic slime (lv. 1). You have gained 3 xp. Jaakobah had a shocked expression. He looked at his hands, back to the slime, back to his hand, back to the slime. Honestly, in the beginning, he was expecting the card to get suspended in the slime's liquids, little did he expect, the card to obliterate the slime in one go. However, that happy yet shocked mindset only went for a nose dive when Jaakobah really thought about this unique skill of his. Jaakobah asked the skull that was still hovering besides him, "I admit this skill seems powerful, however, if all I could do with this skill is throwing cards that I have very little versatility."

The skull replied laughingly, "That is where you are wrong, none of the Joker's skill is weak or typical. Magic Cards is a skill that has the capability to grow with its user. The stronger you get the stronger the skill gets. However, the skill of magic cards itself is very simple. Think of it as a magic amplifier. You use magic to create the card and the card amplifies that power. The only thing you could do with Magic Cards right now is strong attacks like what you had done to the slime. However, if you were to learn another skill, you could apply that skill into a card and amplify that skills effect through the card as a medium. For example, if you learned a fire attack spell. You could create a magic card with the characteristic of the fire spell. The card in return will amplify that power making the original spell a lot stronger. That's how the skill grows with its user. The stronger your skills, the stronger the cards get. These cards will also prove to be one of your core weapons when fighting against enemies."

Jaakobah did not know that about his own skill, and hearing that made him more satisfied with this Joker skill of his. Jaakonah asked the skull, "So as the Joker, what do I need to do?"

The skull responded, "You need to get stronger as fast as possible by leveling up."

"What is the fastest way to level up in this game?" asked Jaakobah.

"Killing other players and collecting their experience points," The skull responded. Both Jaakobah and the skull smiled as the skull finished that sentence. If you were an onlooker at that time, you would notice a kind of black aura surrounding the two fellows, however, no one was present to witness that.
