2 Chapter 2- Curiosity Killed the Cat

The coffee dispenser filled the big mug full of hot espresso coffee.

it has been just 10 minutes since Oliver and Theo returned to the villa, and Oliver made a big mug of coffee to calm Theo down.

"Here's your fav, hot hot espresso" Oliver gave the mug of coffee to Theo with a big smile.

Theo quietly took the cup and started to drink it with big gulps, as it was not a hot coffee but a cold milkshake. Seeing this Oliver was amazed as ever. "How the hell can he drink such a hot coffee as if it was nothing," he thought.

Both Theo and Oliver were incredibly smart and intelligent, which might have been the reason they clicked so well in the first place. Sharing almost all of their childhood together, without having any family members both of them shared a bond that was even stronger than blood brothers. From sneaking out at night under the guard's noses, to fighting with older orphans because they were being a smart ass, they were such a good team that they even knew what each other were thinking without even communicating with each other. But all of that ended 3 years ago, on the day Oliver was adopted and Theo was not. It created a weird tension between them that they couldn't ever properly solve. They would talk on mobile once every often but that was it, nothing too crazy like before. But at some point, the awkwardness turned into a weird ego that got in the way of their bond.

Just when Oliver was thinking of the good old days, he was woken up from his flashback from a scream.

"Fuckkkk, shit, fuck fuck fuck fuck, what have I done, shit" Theo was yelling like a mad man

Oliver yelled back "calm the fuck down Theo, and tell me what happened."

Theo said "you don't understand, I shouldn't have called you, I shouldn't have got you involved. They will kill you too." "You are god damn right I know nothing, so now will you calm down and tell me what happened?". Oliver got a bit aggregated from listening to Theo's mumbling and shot outbursts.

Listening to Oliver getting angry, Theo finally calmed down. "I am sorry, but this time we are in big trouble." "Tell me what happened." "Our orphanage is not what we thought. Remember Solo Medical Pharmacy, the ones who own our orphanage. Well fuck, they were not running the orphanage for some kind of charity work for us bums to live, that was all a coverup."

Seeing Theo's horror-filled face Oliver didn't interrupt. Although a big line could be seen on his forehead.

"Remember sometimes when some children used to get vanished suddenly and when we ask about them, they always answer that they got 'adopted'. Well after you were adopted it started to happen quite often like a child after every couple of month. So when yesterday when I woke up last night to take a piss, I saw like 2 super shady guys going to the 3rd building (the 3rd building of the orphanage). And mind you I have lived there for around 18 years and I have never seen these 2 shit heads ever in the orphanage. So I obviously followed then, I so wish I would have not done that. Well, they went directly to the basement so I stood near the stairs to see what were they up to. And then what I saw was beyond humane. I saw around 13 children handcuffed and gagged hanging from a wall, they were cut all over the place and blood was still dripping from the wounds. And around 5 more children were being drugged to sleep by a couple of more guys. I was going to rush in but then I heard one of them saying that they should get ready for tomorrow because tomorrow was going to be a big sale. And all the orphans would be captured and sold together." said Theo. At this point, the calm expression of him was gone and the horror was shown again.

"Wait so you mean..."

"Oliver, it was all a sham. They were running a human trafficking center and all of the orphanage staff had a part of it."

"Wait, do you mean even Mark?"

"Yes even Mark"

Oliver had a serious expression "How could this have been. What happened next."

Theo replied "when I was listening to their conversation, my mobile had a notification ring out. I was so scared that I freaked out and ran away and hid in the old post office."

"Your notification rang!"

"Oh yeah, I got a new chapter update for a light novel I was reading."

"...."

"...."

"Anyways, now we are fucked. Those guys well know it was me who listened to their conversation when they check on all the orphans later. plus now I even called you and got you involved. Shit, what have I done."

"Well can't do anything about it now, what's done is done now we have to find a way to stop them either way if we want it or not because they will come for us if we don't do anything.

"You don't understand, the ones behind all this is Solo Medical Pharmacy, and behind Solo Medical Pharmacy is Ram Sharma. Don't you know who that guy is? He is that Indian billionaire who is well involved in politics. There is no way he will let the news out about anything bad about him."

"Well we still have to find a way out don't we. Because it's not just our lives who are on the line, there are even those orphans, those children whose condition we know nothing about."

"Tell me did you tell this to anyone else," asked Oliver.

"Fuck no, I was scared shitless and after I ran and ran straight to the old post office where I was finally able to relax a little before I fainted in the main room. As soon as I woke up I called you straight away. I didn't know what to do."

"Well, it was a good thing that you called me. Looks like we really are shot on time." Oliver frowned after listening to everything

"It really is true curiosity killed the cat" he signed.
