1 Rebirth as a skeleton

Lukas gained consciousness, but his head was a complete mess.

he looked around him, it was completely dark, but somehow, he was able to see clearly, at least in a short distance.

He tried to stand up, this simple move made all his body crack.

His body felt different than usual, it was bit sluggish.

'shit, what's wrong with me?' this what Lukas wanted to say but the only thing he heard was champing sound.

Lukas hurriedly checked himself, what he saw made shocked.

'skeleton… I'm a skeleton…'

An ordinary skeleton with a pair of crimson flames lit in his eye sockets, covered by a tattered cloths and a leather vest on top for protection.

Except an exquisite silver ring, everything has failed to withstand the test of time.

This how Lukas looks right now, not going insane is good enough.

It took sometime before process all of this, mostly because he remembered what happened before waking up as skeleton.

Long story short he was killed, but don't worry, he got his vengeance before dying.

Lukas wasn't anxious about his situation, his already died, so be it, he has no regrets.

stay calm and keep going, this is how Lukas handle things.

Many ideas were flashing through his mind, but he was interrupted by a strange scene.

Out of nowhere a scroll floating in air, rolled open before his eyes, the most surprising thing about it, was its contents.

Class: Skeleton Soldier.

Title: None.

Level: 0.

EXP: 0/50.

HP: 30/30.

MP: 5/5.

Something similar to what you get in video game.

'first, I became a skeleton, now I get a video game system, what's next magic?'

Although, Lukas didn't play many video games in the past, but enough to understand the scroll content.

Plus, Lukas felt some connection between him and the scroll, as if it was part of him.

But he felt puzzled about the name issue, his name is Lukas, so why it's written 'Pluto', but it was kinda funny because in his past life people called the Underworld King Hades.

Pluto and Hades are the name of the same Greek God.

This is weird coincidence.

'Pluto, let it be, a new life, a new name.'

Changing his name may look simple, but it's meaning is not, this action means that Lukas has decided to move on with his new life.

Completely integrate into his new identity, even if is a crappy one.

'wait a minute, this…'

While observing the scroll, noticed something big he overlooked.

The scroll was written in strange language, a language Pluto shouldn't be able to understand, but somehow, he does.

As if he learned a completely new language without knowing.

'this place is giving a surprise after another, thankfully I don't have a heart, or I might get heart attack.'

Pluto kept studying the scroll, on the bottom he noticed three separated words are: [Attributes], [Skills] and [Quests].

This made Pluto think that the scroll contains more, but how can he show it.

Pluto tried to touch it but his hand passed through it, like an illusion.

So, he tried another approach, Pluto could feel connection between him and the scroll, so why not try using that to control it.

Using his thoughts, he gave the scroll a command to switch to [Attribute], and it worked.

The scroll rolled [Status] disappeared and [Attributes] showed up.

Looking at his attributes, Pluto had only one thing to say 'terribly weak'.

But he felt it's normal, because his still a level 0 newbie.

That made think of problem, how to level up?

Does he need to kill monsters to level up, but that means there is monsters in this place, that could possibly kill him, more than he is now.

Then again, he is a monster from the human's point of view, so it won't be weird if there are monsters.

'I will see how it goes later.'

Pluto decided to check on the other two tabs.

[Skills]

[Scroll of Self]: gain an insight of yourself.

[Dark Vision]: your eyesight is unhindered by darkness.

[Undead]: you have no vital areas.

[Divine Language]: you understand the Divine language perfectly.

The [Scroll of Self] skill should be the cause of the scroll in front of him.

The other three skills are easy to understand.

[Dark Vision] allow his to see in darkness, that why he can see fine in this dark hall.

As for [Undead] it simple he's a skeleton he has no organs or muscles, meaning he has vital point like heart or neck…etc.

'but if I was hit until my HP reaches 0, I will die for sure.'

'at least that how it works in video games.'

The last skill explained an issue.

'so, the scroll is written in the Divine Language, and I understand it because I have this skill.'

As for [Quests] it was empty page, he hasn't received any quests.

...

'well, I should start exploring this place, there is no point from staying here.'

For the first time Pluto has examined his surroundings.

He was inside an ancient hall 20m long and 12m wide, with six pillars supporting it, and a giant stone door tightly shut.

The hall was rundown with walls filled with cracks, even the pillars are damaged, it won't be a surprise if it fell down.

Few skeletons were laying around, there was about 8 of them, wearing different cloths with some weapons by their side.

Seeing this, Pluto also checked his side, there is a broadsword on his right, there is bit of rust on it, the blade isn't sharp anymore, it's normal after being unkept for long time.

Pluto picked the sword, he must prepare himself against the unknown.

Pluto approached the closest skeleton too him.

the skeleton wore a shabby white robe, a leather belt around his waist, a wooden staff laying by his side.

His looks made Pluto think of mages in novels.

Pluto was attracted by golden necklace decorated with blue gem, not because its value, instead it was the aura released by it.

Pluto wanted to touch it, but the moment his boney hand came closer, something unexpected happened.

The skeleton begun shaking, its eyes lit up with a crimson flame, just like Pluto.

Pluto backed down, making distance between him and the skeleton, observing its actions, while griping his sword's hilt, ready to attack any time.

'it seems I'm not special after all.'

The skeleton tried to stand up, but it was futile, its right leg was missing, unable to stand up, he decided to crawl.

Since it woke up its eyes never left Pluto, and he didn't appear to carry a good intention.

Pluto didn't feel like waiting for the skeleton to reach him, it was just too slow.

So, he took the initiative to greet him, with his sword, of course.

Just like Pluto, this skeleton does not have a vital areas, so it doesn't matter where you attack, as long it's strong enough.

But still Pluto attacked the head, habits die hard, I guess.

The skeleton was like a fish in chopping broad, it tried to attack Pluto by throwing it self at him, but he could easily dodge.

After four attacks and smashing its skull open, the skeleton stopped moving and the flames in his eyes extinguished.

'that was really easy, Hehe.'

'crack' 'crack' 'crack'

But before he could celebrate his victory, the cracking sound echoed in the hall.

the other 7 skeletons begun rising up, like the previous, and this time, everyone of them carried a weapon.

'shit, this is going to be troublesome.'

At this moment the scroll automatically changed into [Quests], which was previously empty, but now it's not.

[Hall of Skeletons]: you have accidently awakened the skeleton from their rest, now you have to clean this mess.

1/8 skeletons.

Reward: 500 EXP.

'a quest… I don't think I have a choice anyway.'
