1 The First Meeting

Rin an orphan girl who never saw her parents or felt their warmth lived an ordinary life. Rin looked even more ordinary than her ordinary life. She had nothing special to tell about her 20 years of life when one day she opened her eyes feeling dumbfounded, " Why am I still alive " rather " Why am I in my room " . She started to recall the incident which happened to her before she passed out and ended up here.

Every time around late December is when Rins high school class would have a reunion. The night of the class reunion, On her way back home from the restaurant where their class reunion was held. Rin was going to cross the last intersection known as jar'ne before she could reach her home. Rin thought 'Whenever I cross this one I get this creepy feeling while having this thought she stopped and waited for signal to change. Just then as she started crossing the road, a shout came from behind her " Hey girl, Stop ". When she turned around to identify the guy who just shouted her name, he was already running towards her. And when his face became visible , her head was filled with so many thoughts devoid of the situation she was in.

" Why is JK entertainments number 1 boy group Moonkids Jin here ",

" Why is he running towards me " ,

" I have had a crush on him since he was a trainee " ,

" Should I tell him that I like him " ,

" Will he think that I am a weird girl if I confess right away " .

While her thoughts were running wild in her head, he rushed towards her and pulled her in a hug . She was flustered but there was a spark in her heart , her heartbeat started to rise as all her thoughts came to a stop " W-w-what is he doing! " . Though the moment didn't last long when the sound of horn overwhelmed her and the truck which was the cause of that sound, struck Jin and her.

As if time had stopped, her whole life flashed through her eyes which were gonna close soon, forever.

'I remembered the useless and boring life I had. There was no moment when I felt alive except the time I was fangirling for the boy group Moonkids. The reason was Moonkids Jin. The only guy who could bring color to my boring life.'

Maybe dying with him like this is not so bad. " But why did he tell me to stop right after I crossed the road " , " Why would he even hug me right in the middle of the road? " . Rin didn't ponder on these doubtful thoughts much longer as she lost her consciousness after the impact .

As soon as Rin finished going over last night's incident, she realized that except the few scratches that ended up on her arms proving that the accident wasn't a dream she wasn't badly injured. Right then Rin noticed a note next to her pillow and started to read the text " Sorry that you had to go through that because of me and I couldn't even treat your injuries. Still, I will make it up to you next time we meet. Promise. --- JIN " .

Rin hugged the pillow while thinking of her next encounter with Jin. The only thing she whished was that next time she didn't want to lose her consciousness . As if someone was listening to her and waiting for the right moment to press the button of Rins unconsciousness , she fell in a deep sleep right after mumbling " What's going on " .

Rin was pulled in a world of darkness. Soon, one by one light particles started to fill the surrounding. The brightness of the place adjusted and a voice could be heard.

" How are you still alive? " A man with black and white wings coming out of his left side and right side respectively asked Rin. Rin replied hesitantly as she looked at the man with wings who was wearing black clothes and a black faceless mask, " What do you mean by how am I still alive? "

The man replied, " First it's not 'you'. My name is Azraeel or as you people call me 'Angel of death' " . Rin was shocked after listening to this masked man proclaiming to be an angel and angel of death at that. She proceeded to pinch herself thinking if she was in a dream then it better end fast. Azraeel laughed while looking at the action of this dumb girl and his thundering laughter brought Rin back to reality .

Rin looked at Azraeel and asked, " So why are you here ?" . Azraeel ignored her question and started a summary " Born on 1995, Rin . Right after giving birth to you, your single mother passed away because of weakness. You lived as an orphan. No knowledge of who your father was or what he looks like. You were supposed to die last night after being hit by a truck right before you crossed the road ." Right there Azraeel stopped and looked deeply at Rin through his mask. Rin who couldn't see Azraeel eyes because of mask felt chills go through her body as if she was completely exposed, nothing could be hidden from this guy. Azraeel continued after looking at the scared girl in front of him " Your status is already ' DEAD ' but seeing as you are still alive things are going to get complicated ". As if wanting the girl to ask him question about the complication Azraeel stopped and waited. But Rin continued to look at Azraeel weirdly for a long time and as the silence grew awkward Azraeel asked Rin angrily, " What are you looking at? ". Rin first hesitated then pointed at his wings and continued , " Why are your left wings black and right wings white? "

Azraeel gave a deep smile and explained, " My black wings represent death and white wings represent life. Life and death are nothing more than name of a journey and I have a record of that. Alive people see me as an angel with only white wings while dead people see me as angel with only black wings just as if Death was standing in front of them. " Azraeel glanced at Rin who looked like a girl enjoying a story and continued " Whereas u seeing my wings as both black and white means that you are alive but your journey has ended as written in the records. " Rin was startled after listening to the explanation of Azraeel and thought ' He said my journey has ended but I am alive so am I going to die ? Is it a coincidence that the intersection name was jar'ne? What about the promise with Jin ? I can't die yet. There has to be a way .' Rin then asked Azraeel, " What will happen to me now ? Will I die now ? " . Azraeel answered the troubled Rin ," No you won't die now . But soon you will. As your journey has ended the World will move in a way where everything you do will lead you to your death". While azraeel was telling rin everything in her dream space , Azraeel and rin didn't know that someone else was also eavesdropping on them through his abilities. A tall guy with silver white hair who was on the rooftop of the building where rin lived kept on nodding and shaking his head as if agreeing and denying what azraeel was saying.

Rin shouted at Azraeel, " So I am to wait for my death ???" . Azraeel sighed and said to Rin," There is a way bu...yo...ha.....own". As soon as azraeel voice faded the man on the roof vanished too . Rin couldn't hear Azraeel clearly as the alarm started ringing waking her up from her deep slumber.
