46 Xenos

Moving on from that room, Mew moved about a lot. So far, that green dragon was the only monster he had met with a soul. The refreshing scent in the air had also vanished.

A bit disappointed but not completely disheartened, Mew continued his journey though the dungeon floors. The floor after the twenty-fourth were all water based. Not interested in the rest very much, Mew would come back later when Ais and her companions went down. For now, Mew had gone low enough as he left another teleportation mark on the stairways leading down to the twenty-fifth floor.

Going back up slowly, Mew again smelled the refreshing scent of monster with a soul. Following that trail, Mew came across a red lizardman in armor. It looked around a bit as it pressed a certain part on the wall.

Color Mew surprised when the dungeon wall opened up. Following the lizardman through the wall, Mew arrived in a decently wide room. Like the rest of the below twenty-fifth floor, everything was made of wood and there was enough food and water. It wasn't a surprise then to see a small village completely filled with monsters. They all had a soul, as not even a single wiff of foul smell was present.

There were a lot of monsters from goblins to Lamia's. The Lizardman in front of Mew seemed to be very popular.

"So, where did you get that little friend, Lyd?"

The Lizardman looked behind him at the words of a Siren monster and noticed Mew looking curiously around him.

"I didn't bring him."

The Lizardman Lyd said as he walked towards Mew.

From how Mew acted, he didn't pose a threat to them.

"Nice to meet you little friend. I am Lyd, on of the leaders of the Xenos. That is what we call ourselves. This," Lyd pointed at the Siren," is Ray. She is another leader. The third is gone for a bit but he should be back soon."

Lyd took Mew's paw and shook it in a friendly manner.

'I'm Mew!' Mew said, happily shaking his hand.

"Oh, Mew-cci. Nice to meet you!"

The other Xenos quickly gathered as Mew greeted the most of them.

'I got a nice place for you to live in. Do you want to?'

Mew said after sharing a meal with them.

Lyd seemed to ponder a bit but eventually shook his head.

"We are currently busy with something. A lot of our kind have been kidnapped and we first need to find out what happened to them. Sorry." Lyd said, becoming completely down.

'No worries. You don't have to come if you don't want to!'

Mew said, shaking his paws around.

Though Lyd and most of the Xenos refused, a few of the more scared Xenos agreed to Mew proposal. Those were a dozen Almiraj, two green dragons and three hippogriffs. Nodding his head, Mew first showed them around in the garden before he settled them down and repeated the process he had done with the other green dragon. The two green dragons that arrived this time, joined the former green dragon now named as an Adair, as Mew planted their trees near each other as they happily began to bask in the sun.

The Almiraj and the hippogriffs settled in the tree of beginning as well. The Almiraj, who were already snow white, gained white wings on their backs. The tips of the feathers turning black in color. Their tails had also become longer with the wispy tips also turning into a deep black.

The hippogriffs had found a decent spot to make their nest as they too had changed a bit, but not much. The brown wings and back had become a fiery red with flames burning along the spine and tail. Their head had become black instead of white with red streaks appearing every now and then in the refection of the light.

They enjoyed basking in the sun as much as the green dragons did, as their flames seemed to become gentler and prettier the more they basked in it.

Satisfied by their homes, Mew left the garden and helped the Xenos in the dungeon a bit. He put up some traps, wich were really nasty. Acid from monsters would rain down on intruding adventurers, speard would burst up from the ground with one wrong step, alarms would ring when an arachne's thread was broken. All those kinds of stuff. Before he went away, Mew took a lot of pictures with him and the Xenos. He handed a few copies to them as well. The Xenos were thankfull as they waved at Mew as he left for the higher floors again. Mew really looked forward to going to Rivira again. Maybe that adventurer was still there and he could nab his food again. Giggling, Mew hurried up towards the eighteenth floor.
