8 Mew watches a gym battle

Having seen the boy called Ash enter the gym, Mew was intrigued about what Ash was going to do.

Mew followed closely behind to see what kind of stuff went on inside the weird looking building that the boy entered.

Having gone invisible, Mew followed behind Ash and ended up on the battlefield. The battlefield was littered with rocks of all sizes. On the opposite site of Ash stood another man with slit eyes and spiky brown hair.

The battlefield had appeared out of nowhere and had startled Ash and his newly aquired Pikachu. From what Mew could see, Ash and Pikachu had gotten a little closer, though it wasn't that much. Pikachu still didn't seem to trust his trainer that much.

The spiky haired man called out his own Pokémon, a boulder-like Pokémon.

Geodude, was what the spiky-haired man called it.

Intrigued about what was about to happen, Mew settled himself on top of Ash' shoulder. The boy had been so taken by the Pokémon in front of him, that he didn't even notice the added weight on his shoulder.

Ash called out his own Pokémon, a flying-type bird Pokémon called Pidgeotto.

Soon the battle began as both trainers called out moves for their Pokémon to perform.

Pidgeotto used gust, making a small tornado form around the Geodude as the Pidgeotto tried to lift it of the ground, ending up with a failure as they went at each other with punches, scratches and pecking.

Receiving a heavy hit, Pidgeotto was quickly unable to battle, after which Ash sent in his Pikachu. Pikachu blasted of a powerful thunderbolt.

The thunderbolt hit Geodude dead on and the Geodude fainted.

How odd, electricity shouldn't work on a ground type, right?

Mew pondered as he watched on.

The spiky-haired man called back his Geodude and sent out his other Pokémon, an Onix. Onix was a giant snake like Pokémon made entirely of rocks.

Starting the battle once more, Pikachu blasted a Thunderbolt all around the battlefield, breaking rocks and hitting the ceiling. Ash dodged the stray bolts shooting towards him. Mew giggled shoftly as the ride he was currently on was getting bumpy. Ash seemed to dance as he avoided the bolts, yelling at Pikachu to aim steady.

Onix dashed forward after being hit with the thuderbolt once, it wrapped its tail around Pikachu and began to squeeze very hard. Pikachu used his thuderbolt once more, but became tired very quickly. Onix increased the power, using Bind.

Ash gritted his teeth as he saw Pikachu suffer in pain. Mew stared intently at the battle, finding it intriguing and fun, yet also very painful.

When it seemed Pikachu would yell out in pain and Ash was about to admit defeat, the spiky-haired man called at his Onix to stop. Pikachu fell from its grasp as he seemed about any second now.

As if by fate, water sprinkled down from the ceiling and Onix began to wail in pain.

"Now Ash, Rock-types are weak against water!" A orange haired girl yelled, a group of small spiky-haired children around her.

Not wasting any time, Pikachu sent out a thunderbolt, hurting Onix significantly.

Onix fell to the ground, severely damaged. Ash prepared to order the final attack, only to be stopped by the group of spiky-haired kids.

After hearing them yell at Ash to stop, Ash forfeited his match as his Pikachu had already fainted briefly during the battle.

As Ash was about to run out of the gym, Mew giggled loudly, startling the humans inside. Mew flew above the weakened Pokémon on the battlefield and revealed himself briefly to heal the brave battlers.

Seeing the shocked looks on their faces, Mew giggled once more, covering his little snout with his small hands and waved at the gaping crowd and turned invisible once more.

"What the hell happened?" Ash muttered as he had never seen Mew before.

He shook his head, grabbed his Pikachu and left the gym.

Mew stared at the disappearing back and went on to the next place he wanted to visit.
