1 Chapter 1 - Mystified

The darkness shadowed the world, stars twinkling at the sky while the sound of the wind soothed the people who were sleeping.

Yet that evening wasn't as calm to a certain person. He was chased. Chased by hundreds of people, attempting to capture and kill that person

"Hahaha! This is fun!"

However, the person they were chasing wasn't even scared, and instead, laugh while running backward, looking at the angry faces of the men and women wearing somewhat resembles a business suit.

"Damn you! Show us the location where you hid the mother and daughter of the boss!"

A man with a muscular body screamed and raised his pistol with a silencer, pulling the trigger and shot the young man but the young man simply leaned right to dodge the bullet with a smile on his face.

"Hey calm down your muscle head! it's not my fault that his wife and daughter wants to live with me!" The young man yelled teasingly with a hint of a smile, attempting to mock him.

The man got irritated and this time, he ordered to shoot him together but unexpectedly, a thunderous sound came from the sky and a lightning png struck the young man they were chasing! Is it luck? or did heaven favored them?

The young man they were chasing was known as the lady killer. With his looks, he can seduce wives and daughters at the same time. This time, he managed to seduce both the wife and the daughter of a famous mafia leader for fun! Yes for fun only!

No one knows where this mysterious man was living and who his family was, he just suddenly got famous because of rumors spreading about how he even managed to steal the wives and daughters of famous and rich criminals.

But what now? How the fuck did lightning suddenly struck him? Did he also manage to steal a lover of some God or something?

The men and women who were chasing him have their eyes and mouth wide open. Shocks to what they witnessed as they didn't believe no traces of his body is found. His existence is gone as if he wasn't there! Even just a piece of cloth from his clothes wasn't there.

"It's over... Let us just tell the boss he died eaten by piranhas or something..." The man said and retreaded while the face of most women who were chasing him showed disappointment. They also wanted to taste that guy as if he was the most delicious food that was cooked yet he was gone now.

[Scanning... Candidate spotted. Inserting memories, inserting knowledge, Injecting class. Completed]

I suddenly heard a robotic voice inside my head. I can't move... Why? Where am I?

[You are Alex White. A shadow Monarch. An Incubus.]

Is this some kind of joke or something? Where the hell am I? Someone answer me! I can't even open my mouth to talk!

Why do I feel dizzy? I want to vomit... Why--

"What the heck was that..."

Alex White whispered weakly as he clasped his head because it was still feeling slight discomfort. After a few seconds, he noticed he was sitting on the grass while the sun was beautifully shining.

"It's Morning? I thought it was still evening and where is this place?"

All Alex can remember was he was chased by people for 'unknown' reasons and was struck by lightning. He didn't recall anything just that, and now, he was sitting on a grassy terrain and the scenery was like how fantasy paintings were portrayed. Everything was blue and green. Nature itself was calming for him.

"Well... Better check the surroundings first. There are trees over there but I'm not sure if it's safe..."

Alex stood up and patted butt to remove the dust from sitting, then, he looked at the right side where trees are mostly covering the area and the reason why he hesitated and felt that area isn't safe is, the trees are abnormally tall and thick. It's impossible are no wild creatures are roaming around that area.

"Still, I have no choice unless I want to jump off that cliff." Mumbled Alex as he glanced at his left. Just a few distances away was a cliff, and simply by looking at there, he knows it's very deep down there.

Exhaling deeply and encouraging his self to not be afraid, Alex walked towards the area where large trees were surrounding it. He's confident with his combat skills and if worst might happen, there is always an option to retreat, or maybe climb up to the trees and hope it can't follow him as most predators can.

However, he didn't let his guard down while wandered in caution. He can hear birds tweeting and bushes moving but he didn't feel something predatory was watching him so he proceeded.

"I should at least grab a stick..." He thought while looking around for useable branches as he was expecting it to be thick.

"Oh? That will at least be useful for now." He sighted a thick and tall branch, can be used for self-defense but as he was about to grab the branch, his body felt pain.

"Ughhhh!!!"

Alex can withstand the most painful things that could happen to his body as he was used to it for training his endurance. But this pain was different, it's as if his body was being reassembled, mainly from his back mostly.

"What is this again!!! Feathers?! Why are there feathers falling off from my back?!" He gritted his teeth as he noticed feathers were falling on his back while blood also dripped down. But that's not all.

"Why... Also a tail?! What I have become?! What did I do to deserve this?!" Alex started to feel weak and felt his strength was forced to decrease. Until his eyes closed and he lost consciousness.
