Ca'en followed the group back and learned that he had indeed returned to earth except that it had changed drastically.

In the year 2015(the year he was thrown in), animals suddenly started evolving into demonic beasts & developed intelligence with abilities causing an uprising that humanity was in no way prepared for.

Guns were of no use and heavy weaponry merely scratched their hides and was only suitable for using on beasts that had yet to develop intelligence but had evolved.

Their sudden uprising wiped out 3 billion lives from 7+ billion people, causing humanity to use their last resort weapons, nuclear missiles which instead made things worse by wiping out 2b more lives yet that wasn't the end.

The radiation mutated beasts that didn't turn demonic and further wiped out another 1 billion lives and causing the demonic beast's to form a hierarchy: Commoners, Soldier, Knight, Captain, General, King and Emperor.

Commoners were beast's that had yet to evolve into demonic beasts but were affected by the radiation and were relatively easy to deal with but were as numerous as ants.

The Soldier class was a step above Commoners and referred to those demonic beasts that would follow the orders of higher ranked bloodlines regardless of the it's power being higher than the stronger class. Even if Say the Soldier class demonic beast had A ranked strength and a knight class had B ranked strength, it would still have to follow orders.

Each class was stronger than the other but the 1s that really struck terror were the King and Emperor class beings. Much more so with those that were Nobles, blood descendants of noble beasts called Saint beasts like the dragons.

Not only were they Overpowered cheat characters but a snort from fully matured 1s were enough to decimate a 50km radius yet that wasn't their most devastating aspect.

Military Leaders.

They were natural born military leaders and had intelligence that surpassed humanity's. All demonic beasts within a 3000km radius would move on their summons and nothing would be left standing in their wake.

Luckily for humanity, they were unbelievably lazy creatures and it was hard to make them move but they held serious grudges when offended and wouldn't stop until the offender and whatever was helping it's enemy were obliterated.

That's when it happened. When Humanity was on the brink of extinction,

An angel descended and declared with a powerful and compassionate voice clad in holy light.

"Rejoice Humanity for you have not been forgotten. You will bear a new breed of human and they shall be called Awakened and They shall usher in a new era"

And the angel vanished just as it came and just as it had declared, a new breed of human were born.

They possessed superhuman strength and had mythological powers.

Magic Academy's were set up by the first generation for the successors where they learned to control their abilities after the first generation found out that they could better control their powers when they chanted certain words or wrote certain symbols

There were over 100 cities and each city had academy's were cadets were trained and would either work for the church, military, the mercenary guild, for the academy, powerful clans or for themselves when they graduated.

Power ranks started from F-A+ and the ranks that followed from there were all for Duke,King ,Emperor and Demi God's.

Ca'en learned that there 4 major powers running the new world: The Church, Nobles Union, The Military & The Mercenaries Guild.

The Church was top dog and the Military and Nobility were ranked the same followed by the Mercenaries.

There also exists the Academic Union that's not ranked the same as they weren't involved in politics but all the great powers new better than to mess with any academy because they were monsters that were crouching and hidden.

The academy's may have fierce competition to the point where it wouldn't be a surprise if they called each other sworn enemies but they would become like a hornets nest was poked and go for blood if 1 of them was threatened.

There existed a powerful noble clan in the past that went to cause trouble because it's heir was beaten to a pulp after he tried to force himself on the cadet from 1 of the academies and all the cadets and teachers from the surrounding cities which were at least 700km away marched to the city even as they died to the demonic beasts on the way.

Even retired teachers, former students, drunks and old monsters that lurked and looked like feeble old cleaners and librarians came out of hiding and had 1 goal in mind: Destroy anything and everything that would dare lay their hands on anyone from the academies.

All the major powers learned to keep their hands out of the Academic Unions cookie jar when they saw all the A+ and Duke ranked monsters and students that put their lives on the line to get their message across as they wiped that noble clan out even going so far as to hunt down those that escaped.

WE WILL NOT INTERVENE IN YOUR POLITICS BUT WE WILL DESTROY ANYONE WHO MESSES WITH US.

So the powers that had problems with someone from the academy could only wait till the cadet finished training and leave or secretly assassinate them but only very few would do so as the academies would leave no stone unturned, eventually find the culprit and wipe them out.

The group arrived at the gate after 3 days. They could walk at such leisure and get so much material because Ca'en discovered a new ability that he so cheesily named, Death's Glare.

The ability formed because he got annoyed that the group was running back and got angry at 1 of the demonic beasts.

He had made a vow to leave a lazy and leisurely life if he ever got back and running around wasn't helping it so yeah, that happened.

His eyes would become completely black and a slight white whirlpool would form in it with the dark energy paralyzing the prey because of the sheer amount of negative aura it gave off causing the soul to feel pressured while the holy energy would make the soul leave the body willingly.

He discovered that each time this happened, the dark and holy energies would rise from the whirlpools and escape through his eyes but the energy in the whirlpool wouldn't diminish even a bit.

'My energy must not be diminishing because of that form' he concluded.

He would shutter every time he thought of his 6 winged form, it was overpowered and the feeling of the power was addictive to the point that he wished he wouldn't ever go back to it. It had a terrible thirst for genocide and destruction.

He even felt that he could have escaped the the encircling or gone down with 2 of those angels if he had all of his wings.

The walls were 30m high and looked quite weathered showing its battle scars. There were magic cannons placed around 3m intervals and were designed in such a way that the beam would spread out to cover a lot of ground and decimate everything in it's reach.

There were guards placed atop the wall together with single target aerial magic cannons.

The gate was made of plasma that would kill anything that tried to pass through it and there was a card slot with a retina scanner next to it.

This was Murk City.

The guards didn't say anything as they saw them walking to the large gate. Felicia took out a golden card and inserted it into the card slot then did a retina scan while explaining as the plasma disappeared

"We have 5 seconds to get in or out after the gates down" and the group quickly disappeared inside with the gates closing behind them after.

Ca'en lied that he grew up in the mountains and he's grandpa recently died so he left for the cities afterwards and conveniently squeezed in that he didn't know anything about the outside world as it was always the 2 of them deep in the mountains.

Felicia was shocked when she learned he was the same age as her because he even spoke like an old man calling her 'lass'

'Fudging uncomfortable!' this was the first thought that came up as he stood with closed eyes when he entered the city.

He felt as if someone was slowly trying to suffocate him and he couldn't move.

The holy whirlpool started giving off more energy as the angelic DNA glowed brighter while the demonic DNA glowed dimmer until he started feeling more comfortable as the DNA glowed and he opened his eyes.

The inside of the city made Him slack jawed that he even forgot what he had just gone through, he had thought that technology hadn't advanced and that they might have gone back to the the era of cold weapons when he looked at the equipment Felicia and the group were wearing but how wrong he was.

This shit was way advanced then his own time.

There was a magic railway that ran with no other sound than a Whoosh.

There were holographic billboards placed around everywhere but it didn't make the place look messy.

There were flying cars everywhere yet the place didn't look congested, it was like looking at orderly chaos.

Fresh air seemed to be pumped in from somewhere as the old air was sucked away.

There were stalls on both sides and people heckling and shouting over prices and goods.

Almost everyone had a wrist watch like Felicia did except hers was more luxurious looking and some of them were even conversing with the person on the other side of the hologram from their smart watch while others pulled out maps.

"Whoa..." that's all that Ca'en managed to say and Felicia had a slight smirk on her face.

'It must be a lot to take in for someone who's lived in seclusion since birth' people would be shocked if they saw this brown haired ice Queen smiling at someone other than her brother, Lucien.

"Wait, those buildings?" Ca'en asked when he saw 5 Story buildings that he didn't see from the outside.

"Oh, you couldn't see it from the outside because of the Angels Sanctuary magic covering the city" Felicia explained.

"Angels sanctuary?" Ca'en frowned. He didn't know magic existed in this world and he was not a fan of anything with the word angel in it after those unreasonable angels threw him out for almost a millennium.

He was so traumatized when he learned it was was 3012 that he observed a moment of silence for himself.

"Yes, all cities are covered with Angels Sanctuary magic. It was the holy magic that descended on all the cities when the First generation was born by the heavens and kept demonic beasts away and the first generation started developing technology that integrated magic and thus created a technology that uses the divine magic surrounding the cities to bend light over the city and purify the air" Felicia sounded almost fanatic when she spoke of the angels and the first generation.

'Pish... if you only knew how unreasonable angels are' Ca'en was ranting inside but he had to say he really admired the first generation for what they did.

'I guess I'm the zero generation then eh?' he joked but what he didn't know was that he really was a 0 generation being.

No human had become a demon directly gaining power from the core of hell itself. They usually became demons through offerings to other demons so they were called Sired demons but he could be called a pure blood demon or hells First born because he was born from its core.

All other demons were either fallen angels, demons that were born from the negative energy in hell and their descendants but he was born directly from hells base energy so he was even more pure blooded than any other demon. A Noble Demon of the purest blood. Any Sired or born of him could easily beat the crap out of the existing Noble demons.

Yet he was also a divine angel born from the strongest of angels, the 7 Archangels because he was hit by their divine power when hells energy broke down his DNA and was remaking it and the divine energy stopped that process by replacing his yet to be corrupted DNA with itself.

He was above all else, A hybrid that shouldn't exist. He could be a demonic angel or an angelic demon, no one knows.

They got on the magic train and headed to the mercenaries guild
