1 Chapter 1

'God, it's been so long. Where is this?' Ca'en was finally out and was greeted by at least 60m tall trees with large lush leaves.

It seemed to have been raining as the air felt moist and was filled with the smell of green.

'This isn't the rainforest or something right?' he was looking around trying to find his barrings.

He was looking around when his mind was suddenly assaulted by pain.

"Arg!" He was receiving information on everything within a 200km radius, from the ants uniform marching to the flap of a butterfly's wings.

Everything was within his field of vision though he was in no way looking at it.

'It seems my senses are adapting to me returning but it's weaker than before, it must be because I'm only able to use a pair of wings instead of the full 6' he muttered'

Being in the Great Divide for so long had somehow helped his comprehension abilities.

'There's a variety of species in a 200km radius but the hell are they?' with his conscience falling on a myriad of species, he noticed that the animals seemed different from the one's he remembered.

There were flaming 7m apes, black 4m long wolfs with some kind of black miasma coming from their breath. Heck, even the ants seemed to be covered in some kind of spiky armor.

'Am I really back....?' Ca'en couldn't help but doubt, there were no such animals on the earth he remembered.

'Humans? shit, how do I get rid of the wings?' He started panicking when he saw fast moving humans enter his field of consciousness.

A human with black sinister looking wings and metal claws growing through his hands? Wouldn't the media have a field day with him?

But fortunately to his surprise, the wings shrunk into his back with the claws following suit until it disappeared when the thought of hiding them occurred.

His black eyes returned to a humans as only that white light would intermediately swirl in his iris making them look mysterious as though they contained a universe in them.

"Young mistress, the Mirewolf should just be up ahead. A staunch looking middle aged man with well defined muscles spoke to the girl next to him.

"Good. We need to get the venom from its fangs. Lucien's life depends on it. Spread out & don't let it get away!" she commanded. Her voice was melodic but there was stubbornness etched within.

She was a tall girl with wide hips, a small waist, with a well proportioned body with the slim legs of a gazelle. She had freckles and her hair reached her neck.

She had a small black pouch wrapped around her waist and wore a red loose fitting robe while the man had standard military grade clothing except that it was all black and there weren't any guns, just combat knives.

Felicia of House Barton. One of the great families of Murk city. Her younger brother was poisoned by the Rock Cobras who's venom solidifies the body and turns it into stone.

Rock Cobras are General class monster's with a body that can reach 500m and covered in stone like scales with strength that can reach A rank upon maturity.

They usually live deep in the forests and would rarely move out of their territory but appeared in the normal hunting grounds on some devils luck and wiped out almost everyone in the party before snorting with destain and turning back to the forest leaving Lucien to deal with the venom.

They needed to get the venom of another General class monster, a Mirewolf, who is the natural nemesis of the Rock Cobra

She had pleaded with her uncle to send a group of A rank hunters under their family but he just looked at her and dismissed it so she hired mercenaries using the savings she wanted to buy new gear with and set off.

The journey was treacherous and they were only left with 9 out of the original 20 when they finally got close to the Mirewolf territory. That's how dangerous The Greenland Forest was.

They sped up and arrived just to stand with dropped jaws. The scene before them was unbelievable, a tall young man was holding the dead Mirewolf up by the neck and murmuring to himself.

"Interesting, I'm pretty sure I've never seen a wolf like this on TV before, heis am I really on earth?"

His chiselled brown body and hair that fell to the ground gave him a wild yet lazy air and the way he held the Mirewolf made it look like he was looking at a puppy.

This was a Mirewolf! A demonic beast that would take at least a 30 men team of veterans to subdue when it was in peak condition! Even an E rank Mirewolf required at least a D ranked team with a C rank to subdue.

They were inherently cunning and the Miasma they released could easily cover a 100m radius, weakening anything within until all strength was sapped and then toyed with their victims. The only reason she even took this chance was because she learned that this demonic beast was currently starting to evolve into an A class monster thus being in a weakened state.

This Mirewolf was a B+ ranked demonic beast yet this single youth no older than 16 was actually able to kill it?

What kind of nonsense monster was this, they couldn't even feel any energy coming from him making him look like a normal human except for that gigantic black Mirewolf he was holding up.

He even looked to be enjoying the feeling of that black needle like fur as he kept rubbing it.

"Oh, hello" he turned and awkwardly waved.

It was no one other than Ca'en.

This was the first time he met humans after so long and he didn't know how to properly deal with it.

His voice was deep and had a leisurely air around it but it was laced with a trace of demonic power that caused the group to involuntarily freeze.

He had decided to go toward the humans he saw in order to better understand his situation after he returned to human form but he hadn't noticed that his senses became almost nonexistent in human form as his conscience came down to a 10m range and it ignored warning him about the Mirewolf that approached him.

He knew that it approached but it was like his senses felt no threat so it ignored the demonic beast but this sucker just suddenly pounced on him

and got it's neck snapped in 1 go, clearly courting death.

'It seems my strength still remains but it's not as overbearing as before' he was busy inspecting the demonic beast when the group arrived.

'They don't seem to have bad intentions... The girl looks like the leader or an important person judging by how she's been guarded'

His lazy gaze landed on the group but he found that the group was silent and didn't move in the slightest.

'Hmm? What's this? I thought I sounded friendly?' he was speaking with leisure trying his best not to sound suspicious but for the group, it was as though they were standing in front of a predator that hunted other predators.

A formless pressure was coming off the youth and his eyes drew them into a universe of its own that they were unable to escape from.

'Shit! What's going on?!' one of them screamed but his voice couldn't come.

"Hey, I'm not a suspicious person guys..."

'Hmm?' Ca'en noticed they weren't replying as if they became dumb so he turned his gaze back to the Mirewolf only then did the group come to.

'The hell!'

'What just happened?' the members started coming to and became immediately terrified when they turned their gaze to the back of that youth. All of them came to a universal conclusion: DANGER! This person is dangerous!

Felicia involuntarily shuddered when she thought of those mysterious eyes.

'This senior should be on par with our clans ancestor or is he a descendants?' Felicia only ever felt that kind of pressure from her great great grandfather, an old monster that has lived through the ages. That man was 1 of the oldest humans alive but he looked like he was just in his early 20s so it was understandable that she came to such a conclusion.

Her ancestor eyes gave off an aged, indomitable and powerful aura whereas the youth before her gave off a feeling as if he was detached yet curious about everything but wouldn't put in any kind of effort, as if a tantrum from him could incinerate everything. His eyes looked weathered and mysterious.

"Se.. senior, do you have use for that Mirewolf?" Felicia spoke after taking in deep breaths.

She didn't want to offend this 'senior' as she thought only those old monsters could give off such an aura.

"Hmm?" Ca'en tilted his head.

'Well I guess I am technically a senior' he muttered under his breath causing Felicia to panic, she didn't want to offend this 'senior' lest they all get wiped out Monsters like these wouldn't give a rats ass about killing

"Lass, this is a Mirewolf?"

'Huh?' Felicia was confused, she didn't know weather it was a question or a statement When she felt that gaze landing on her again

"Of, of coarse I'm willing to pay!" she quickly blurted out.

"Sure" he immediately answered before she could even finish speaking.

And gave the Mirewolf over.

The men skillfully dissected it, taking the fangs, tongue hide and bones.

"How much do you want senior?" Felicia spoke humbling herself, she would pay whatever was within her means after all it was only fair.

She knew she would have lost more men subduing the Mirewolf if it hadn't been for this senior.

"Hmm, the market price should do" he scratched his head. How could he ask for money when he didn't even know what currency they used.

He agreed to go back to Murk City with them.
