12 Where Are They

Vanessa arrived at the stadium early the next day. Dani, Jaivva, and Logan huddled in a circle. Vanessa didn't think that the three would be friends with one another. As she approached them their whispering came to an end.

She asked why they were up so early. But Logan only gave a sarcastic response. Dani smacked him with her Gucci Purse.

"Oh my God, where did you get that purse from," said Vanessa with her hands on her face and jaw open.

"It's a secret meant for no ears but my own," answered Dani.

Vanessa pleaded with her hands clasped to the front. Dani even admitted that she would look beautiful with the purse. Yet claimed she couldn't risk others looking as good. On the other hand, Jaivva cheered her elf friend for her selfish attitude.

Jeff, Andres, and Hakim walked up with the latter noting how Dani was always up to something. Jeff however scolded his sister in the parking lot asking why she ran off last night.

Dani batted her eyes and said in a sarcastic tone, "It was to get a Gucci Purse".

"You're gonna get kicked out for that," said Jeff in a loud angry tone.

"Worry about your team and the game. Not me. I know how to take care of myself" said Dani.

Just as Jeff was about to snap, a voice came saying, "Love the purse Dani".

She thanked the sister who wore red armor, Mimi. Likewise, Vanessa waved at her and her two companions.

"You sound mad," said Mimi smiling.

"Yeah I had a long night," said Jeff with red eyes and bags under his eyes.

"So who are you guys anyway," asked Jaivva.

"We are The Paragon Sisters," answered Mimi.

She pointed to an Arabic girl with long purple hair who stared at nothing except her phone and said, "This is Nuhat. But you can call her Nana".

Nana rose her head to say, "Hi" while waving her hand.

"love your hair. And your make up. And outfit. And everything about you," said Vanessa.

"Thanks," replied Nana.

Mimi pointed at the tall white girl with long silver hair in all black goth clothing, and said, "And this is Kiki".

"Ooh, I like your everything too," said Vanessa.

"My everything," repeated Kiki.

"The sisters that my mother never gave me," said Dani with her hands planted on her cheeks.

"Don't worry Dani, we got you," said Mimi.

Nana delivered the news that they were soon going to be pro players. To his disbelief, Jeff asked to see. She held her phone so he could see they were in review along with the "Superhero" affiliation.

The team was congratulating them when a loud voice had come from across the parking demanding all sisters to come.

"Looks like the man of the team is calling," said Logan mocking the leader of the Paragon Sisters.

The three sisters were already heading towards their leader when Mimi turned towards Logan, "Watch your mouth, Logan"!

Jeff turned around saying, "I can't believe they are already pro superheroes".

Hakim added, "El Chales is already pro-anti-villains. I know Carter and Steven are already pros".

"Well it looks like the Wild Bunch is going to kick up its game and hit pro very soon here too," said Jaivva.

Vanessa shook her head in agreement with Jaivva. "We will start by landing the ship".

Jeff immediately rejected the notion saying, vouching let the sisters land the ship. After all, all they essentially needed to do was survive.

A silence fell upon the group while Vanessa's smile dropped to a pout. For the first time, she noticed tension regarding the team's leadership.

"Well let's get in there and survive this game" yelled Jaivva throwing her hands in the air. "But let's hurry because I want to go somewhere afterward".

Safe zones were safely closed off from the rest of the ship thanks to Dani, Logan, and Jaivva on the previous day. People were partying and setting out on missions.

Vanessa spent the night studying up on new weapons to use. Stretching her back, she expressed her eagerness to fight.

The two boys were excited as Jeff began yelling, "No". He insisted they let The Paragon Sisters land the ship.

Disappointed in his decision, Vanessa pointed out his cowardice.

Without paying her any mind, Jeff began frantically looking around, searching the safe zone for his missing teammates. After ordering them to split up, he stormed off for his own search.

Vanessa looked towards her stressed out boys with a fractured smile and apologized.

The three missing members walked out of the safe. Steven was walking in eating a bagel. Disgusted with him, Logan began mocking his gut.

"Hey," said Jaivva in a flirty voice.

Steven nodded his head at Jaivva leading Logan to sternly say "no"!

Dani cut the chatter to ask for the control room. Steven was shocked at first that they didn't know where it is. However, it wasn't like they had any map or blueprints to go off of. He thought deep and hard, recalling something towards the rear of the ship.

"You just want to fight aliens with your friends, don't you," asked Jaivva.

Steven smiled big like a child. Logan had a hunch he wasn't lying. The theme appeared to be humanity in search of a new home. The spaceship has sensors in the front thus keeping the control room away.

Steven threw up finger guns and said, "Imma go eat now".

Once gone, Logan discouraged Jaivva from speaking to Steven. He mocked Steven for being a held back failure and a member of El Chales. Jaivva heeded his words and cheered on with Dani to kill the "Superheroes".

In the safe zone, Vanessa realized her armor was outdated while others were wearing cyber glasses and shiny metal armor. Her armor was made from fabric as though she was an astronaut of some sort. Even Jaivva and the rest of the team had light armors of different colors.

Brushing past the people in their advanced suits, she made her way to a blue computer. The Oaka System responded assisting her in her purchase.

Later, Jeff rallied everyone regarding their plan of action without his three missing members. Vanessa crept behind the three boys, wearing her heavy set of armor.

"Welcome to the tank class Vanessa," said Andres.

Unlike the others, Jeff wasn't amused. He continued complaining about finding his other teammates. Andres vouched that Logan needed to die. Thus it was more than acceptable to leave him.

"You don't mean that," said Vanessa.

"You're really looking ninja material with that mask," said Hakim staring at the unrecognizable Vanessa.

Vanessa replied, "I'm everything material".

It was good for Jeff. He planned to go out looking for the three. He tried to place Andres in the front as usual when Andres vouched to allow Vanessa to take the one-man position.

Vanessa's green eyes grew until Jeff rejected the thought. Hakim also vouched for her which stressed Jeff more. After much pestering, he gave in allowing Vanessa to take the one-man position.

Vanessa smiled big as she stood at an exit. Behind her was Hakim, Jeff, and lastly Andres. As soon as the door opened, Vanessa glided out and shot every alien in her path.

She quickly aimed and shot the aliens. Her shotgun proficiency was on point. No alien could survive her lethal sight. Her fluid motion was extraordinary much like that of a pro.
