104 The Wild

What was believed to be a log was now close enough to see it was a gator of some kind. Don't ever ask Jaivva how could she misinterpret such a thing. Most city people would likely make the same mistake. Even worse, it was nearly in range to attack.

The land was too near and the cubs were still paddling strong. Jaivva kicked away from the cliff with a dagger and a short sword in her hands.

The gator swam just a little past her to get around to the cubs. She treaded over to keep it away. Its hissing startled the littles ones.

Jaivva swam towards its mouth. The gator flinched its mouth close. As she treaded backward following the motioning water from the swimming, the gator came directly for her.

Holding her ground held no effect on the gator. It snapped once and hissed at her counter with the dagger.

Still swimming into her, the gator tipped its nostrils in the water to snapped a second time.
