47 The Storm

Ms. Dia stood on a rooftop. She could tell Vanessa and Jaivva were reaching her pet in the field. Soon she would rid this town of its remaining filth.

Hakim quietly climbed to a rooftop in hopes of landing a sneak attack.

Ms. Dia until she turned, "Hakim! Hakim! You know stealth is not your forte".

Ms. Dia's eyes began to glow as she motioned her hands around to direct the storm towards him.

Seeing the storm coming towards him, Hakim jumped down between the houses. They blocked the winds from damaging him.

Ms. Dia summoned an ice bird with red eyes to find him.

Hakim ran zigzags through the alleys, charging a swirling fireball in his palm. The heat melted all nearby snow.

The bird's cry alarmed the old hag. She slammed a surge of wind into him.

Hakim held his palm into the snow and used the water to form an ice overhead to block the storm.

Ms. Dia was convinced he was dead. Even the bird retreated to her side for a moment.

He continued running. The sound of snow kicking gave away his status.

A couple of seconds later the bird flew into him. Jumped out the way. But the bird still tore his leg.

He landed on his scorching fire spell, causing massive burns to his left shoulder. They were deep. All the screams he held back were high pitched screeches. His blood dripped into the snow. That arm couldn't move.

Ms. Dia directed the storm at him once more.

A blizzard was on top of his shoulders. Waling him down into the snow. His screams were becoming dry. Hakim kicked himself through the snow while the storm slammed over him.

Charging another fireball, Hakim escaped the storm and ran to a crate near Ms. Dia.

She hadn't heard him due to the raging winds. Her sole focus was to tear the storm itself through him.

His palm slammed the fire into her face. Her neck crackled as her body was engulfed. Unable to move, she fell to the snow below. The flames ate away at her skin.

A loud series of blasts were heard. He figured it was Jeff. Fortunately, two gingerbread with a sleigh came to pick him up.

Ms. Dia twitched her fingers as Hakim was driven away. Her fists clenched with the remaining power she had. Though her body was dying, her magic was still powerful. She cast an avalanche from the nearby mountains to destroy the area.
