14 Marauders of The Desert

Later in the desert, various teams of the community were positioned around the ship's entrance. Chad looked out into the bright and flat desert. Nothing but sand flowing through it. Not even a mountain was spotted anywhere.

Jeff stood by his side saying pleading to go inside for protection. Chad was confused by Jeff's cowardice. The ship was clearly attacked by something from the planet. And if they failed to resolve the matter it could mean their loss.

Instead of heading Chad's words, Jeff belittled him as he wasn't a pro player either. This was fine by Chad for he knew he had the bullocks to one day be a pro.

Jeff's team was sitting back at the entrance of the ship next to a team that was scanning the area with a satellite made from scrap. Loganwarned the team that they will soon be attacked if they don't move soon.

One of the girls who was working on the satellite disregarded Logan's claim.

Chad came towards the center of the secured area and made hand signals to assemble the team leaders of all fellow teams. He organized the different teams to push out in a spider web formation.

As he spoke, Jeff was looking out into the desert where he saw what seemed like figures moving. Jeff stared harder, but couldn't make anything out.

Chad intervened with Jeff's blank stare into the desert asking, "Are you okay with that"?

"With what," asked Jeff.

"Taking your guys out alongside another team to help form a web into the desert," answered Chad.

Jeff shook his head no which worried Chad. He insisted that something was wrong. But Jeff only blocked him off. Chad dismissed him to do as he pleased.

Jeff watched as each team slowly began pushing out into the desert by bounding as he was walking towards his team at the ship's entrance.

Once there, Dani answered, "We're gonna sit here and wait".

Jeff looked up and nodded his head firmly to confirm that his team will indefinitely sit and wait.

Everybody was down and in a bad mood except for Logan. Logan was watching the other team still attempting to make a satellite to no success.

"They're coming," said Logan as he began calling out to Chad.

Jeff tried to tell Logan to calm down, but Logan ignored him. Chad held his fist in the air signaling everybody to freeze as he ran towards Logan.

"They're coming after us," yelled Logan.

As Chad uttered, "Who", he saw missiles shot towards the teams who were pushing out.

Chad and Logan jumped face down to the ground and began low crawling towards each other.

Jeff yelled for his team to get inside, yet nobody listened. Instead, Andres instructed everybody to jump out into the dirt as Logan and Chad did. Jeff had no choice but to do the same.

"I said get in the ship!" yelled Jeff as a mortar blew it up.

Rockets continued to fire towards all of the Isekai Game players as they rolled in the dirt hoping not to get hit by the steel rain.

Once near Chad, Logan explained to him that these aliens have been watching them and been disrupting their communication.

"We need to lay low to make them believe we are dead," said Logan.

Chad began yelling for everybody to stay low and to not return fire. He looked into the desert to see where the fire was coming from.

Using his scope and heat sensors, Logan noticed the attackers were invisible. He relayed his findings to Chad who attempted to watch them with his heat sensors. There were only a few, but they appeared to have some type of armor that was nearly hiding their body temperature.

After 15 minutes of continuous fire, the assault had stopped. Everybody laid low in the sand for 30 minutes to pass before they started regrouping in the prone position. The ship was near completely destroyed.

"I will rally the troops and make our way over there to take the fight to them. What will you guys do" asked Chad?

Logan pouted, "probably find a spot and hide until we get blown up".

Chad looked down in disappointment for he knew what all Jeff's team was capable of. Nonetheless, the two boys went their separate ways.

Jeff slowly stood furiously saying, "What is wrong with you guys? You all are seriously not listening to me"!

Dani stood up, "It's Jaivva's first weekend playing and Vanessa's first month officially in the team. Let's just have fun and kill aliens".

Ignoring her reason, Jeff proposed that staying safe will get them to pro. It was Andres who made clear that nobody wanted to come to a fighting game and not fight.

Jeff wiped his face asking what did everybody want. Ironically, they all wanted to kill aliens.

After some thought, he finally decided to give into a full assault against the aliens of this new planet. Just before Jeff led the team into the desert, Logan made a suggestion to check the Oaka System first.

The team checked the Oaka System in a nearby damaged safe zone within the destroyed ship to realize that the Oaka System was actually still working. Logan had put in a request for everybody to change into tactical desert gear at the courtesy of his points.

Once changed, everybody adored their now ragged garbs that hid their presence well from others. Yet barely covered their bodies.

.................................................................................................

Before heading into the desert, Jeff gave a small speech regarding having fun instead of playing the game seriously. It confused Vanessa and Jaivva. He was whipping his tears and going on about enjoying their last days. It was an odd speech that had a depressing feeling to it.

Logan began cheering with blatant, "Woohoo"s.

Andres took the lead this time with Vanessa right behind him. Hakim followed with Jeff right next to him. Logan held the rear with Jaivva and Dani evenly disbursed in front of him.

Before stepping, Andres gave his own speech. It was a hype speech that got the blood going. One that motivated the team to go out and fight. The team cheered with the exception of Jeff.

Andres quitted the team down and started running them throughout the desert. It only took about five minutes of running before she saw a giant mountain with a compound to the right of that mountain. The distance was maybe 150 meters they saw the mountain.

"How are we already here," asked Vanessa.

Hakim responded, "We'll answer later".

Gunfire was soon heard. Hakim and Dani requested a halt to prep their small mortar systems. Hakim's was rather simple whereas Dani's a very unique looking weapon. Andres used his scope to direct their fires to hit directly on the aliens at the compound entrance. Shortly after, he ran towards the front lines with the rest of Jeff's team behind him.

Upon reaching the base, Jeff's team saw Chad pinned down behind a sand mound. Vanessa and Andres began firing next to Chad while Jeff stretched his team out across the burning sand to fire at the aliens.

Nobody could see the aliens well. Logan shot out a gas, that left a sticky substance in the air, at the aliens. The aliens were now visible to all of the fighters. Unfortunately, their armor was too thick.

The aliens would fire continuously at the Isekai Game players and send a runner to go and slice them apart. Luckily the players were too close for the aliens to drop mortars on them.

Vanessa began focusing her attention on the runners to take them out with her shotgun. Sadly, she was only able to do so much damage. Dani and Hakim began shooting mortars into the base in the hope to kill off some of the aliens before they could come out. However, the effects appeared to be minimal.

"Push" yelled Logan as he was shooting his grenade launcher at a rapid rate.

Vanessa, Andres, and Chad moved forward of the mound while the mortar men came up onto for better and more effective firing.

Soon after the push was made, a small ship flew out of the base so fast that nobody got a good glimpse of it. Three other ships had followed it and flew far away. The aliens looked back inside their base as the players were still firing in a state of confusion.

A series of explosions went off throughout the base. Everybody kept firing at the remaining aliens until one of the small ships came flying back, firing.

Another ship followed and spoke on its intercom saying, "Good afternoon fellow players. This is Teddy and you have all been saved by El Chales. No need to thank us. But we will be taking over this base for our personal purposes. You are welcomed to come in for business purposes only".

"What a bugger," said Chad as he stared up at Teddy's ship as it slowly entered and landed into the compound.

Chad continued ranting about how most of their men were dead and El Chales was a pain in the rear. Vanessa was thrown under the impression that El Chales was a group of bad people. Andres luckily corrected the perception that they weren't bad, just competitive. He also reassured her that they will let her know if any bad people are around.

Jeff on the other hand confused Jaivva and Vanessa when asking the team what they wanted to do. The game was beaten and the studio closed in 2 hours. Surely they could do something like a side quest.

It had been a fun day with an unfortunate ending. Nonetheless, nearly everybody was content to continue their adventures forward in their new found team.
