Chapter 9

[Skills]

I woke up 2 hours earlier than normal. After a few minutes of thinking I then realized something. 

<Wait if I have a system now does that mean that my skills can be used at full power now? And if it's at full power I can't imagine how strong it will be if I level it up. If I can level it up at least. But that would also mean that my training was just for naught.> I said. I opened my skill tab. I selected my lightning speed skill. It opened the information about the skill. And to my surprise it had something I didn't expect it to have.

Skill: lightning speed

Makes the user have speed as fast as lightning. Takes 1 stamina per minute.

Control progress:1%

Note: levelling will start after control progress is complete.

After seeing this I then realized something. <If I have 20 stamina, does that mean before being able to control 1% of lightning speed it took 20 stamina per minute? If so then wow, from 20 per minute to 1 per minute.> I said.

I then looked at the strength multiplier. It was the same as lightning speed. While both Heaven's Eyes and Inspect were both at Max level which is 100. 

This is great! This means that training normally still has an effect on my skills and not just using them over and over.

2 hours have passed and I was ready to go to school. When I got out of the apartment building I saw a car waiting outside. 

<Good morning Kashi!> yelled Hina. "How did she know where I lived?" I thought to myself.

<H-hi?> I said. Is she stalking me? I then thought of a way to get an answer.

<How do you know where I lived?> I said. "Well that was dumb…" I thought to myself. But to my surprise her answer was even weirder than mine.

<I was stalking you> she said with a smile. Even though I was supposed to be shocked or feel uneasy I didn't feel anything at all. But still it was weird. 

She opens the door of the car and gets in. She taps the seat beside her. "Might as well." I thought to myself. I sat beside her. She giggled. Now this is what got me uneasy.

We arrived at school. Nothing special happened when we arrived. However when we got to our classroom is another story.

As we were about to enter our classroom a girl came jumping towards Hina. <Good morning Hina!> the girl cheerfully yelled. She hugged Hina. Hina hugs her back. "I wouldn't want to ruin the atmosphere." I thought to myself. I walked to my seat.

I then saw someone signaling me to come to them. It was Leon. I quickly got to where he was seated. 

<Be sure to watch over Hina. The guys are starting to make their move.> he said to me. I haven't talked to him since we started school. This is the first time we interacted as well. <S-sure, thanks> I said to him. Without hesitation he offered to shake hands with me. <I'm Leon Murphy.> he said to me. I already knew his first name. <I'm Kashi Kusarage.> I said as I shook his hand. 

I went back to my seat. After I leave Leon a group of girls consisting of 5 goes to his seat.

Leon was quite popular with the girls. Well he is handsome. He stood at 6'0 ft. while I stood at 5'9. He has golden blonde hair and his body was a bit more built than mine. His eyes were the same as Stella's eyes which were sky blue. He looked like a charming prince. However he may look mature but he's still 16 like me. But he acts like he's already 17 or 18. Well he does look like it.

The girls quickly went back to their seats when they heard the bell ringing. Mr. Julius walks in. He had a piece of cloth on his head that had a little bit of blood on it. "What exactly happened yesterday?" I thought to myself. But I didn't worry about it any longer as we were about to start class.

An hour had passed and it seemed like everything was fine. However, Mr. Julius started coughing blood. "An S-Rank getting beat up this hard. It's not that it's not common, it's just shocking." I thought. 

Even though some had the same ranks their strength might be way far apart. For example if an A-Rank like me fought another A-Rank there's a chance that he might be more powerful than me. They don't actually give honest rankings. I've heard that there have been cases where a C-Rank defeated a B-Rank. They only seem to give high ranks to people who "deserve" it. That also goes for the evaluation of destructive power, speed, and intellect. So it's safe to say that they only gave me an A-Ranking because they wanted to use me in the future since only B-Rank above can join tournaments. They could have just made me B, but they wouldn't want to make me look weak. They also didn't want to make me look powerful either.

The clinic doctor came rushing through our classroom. She took Mr. Julius with her to the clinic. It was silent once again.

I didn't really pay attention to some of my classmates. But now looking at them all I noticed that I was standing out. Sure both me and Hina had pale skin but her hair and eyes were normal for the others. However me on the other hand had crimson red eyes and white hair. From time to time some will look at me and say "doesn't he look weird".

Another hour had passed. Mr. Julius returned to the classroom.

<Today we are going to train your abilities.> he said. As usual everyone was happy. "Not another show off contest." I thought.

We arrive at the arena. As we got to the middle I saw Stella sparring with Kyle. His personality is different from when he talked to me. When he saw me he threw one of his daggers in my direction. I caught it with my fingers while my gauntlets were equipped. The dagger then disappeared from my hand as I saw Stella running towards me. 

<Kashi! Are you okay?> she said. I nod. I looked behind her and saw Kyle looking at me with a disgusted expression on his face.
