Chapter 2

[ Irregular ]

During break most of my classmates talked with each other. It appears that they were all attending the same school when they were middle schoolers. They didn't even bother introducing themselves this morning. "Seems like Hina is in the same situation that I am in". I walked towards her. She was sitting in front while I was sitting at the back. "Don't you have anyone you know in here?". She replied <<No, I don't want to be friends with them. Not anymore>>. "Huh? Not anymore? Seems like a personal matter so I won't ask". For a brief moment I saw her frown. I sighed. <<What happened?>> I said. 

<<They just used me because of my abilities and some even lusted after my body>>

<<Well I can understand w_>> before I could finish she looked at me with a sharp gaze.

<<I didn't say anything>>

<<You're the first friend I had in years>>

<<Same here, but I'll think you'll be my only friend>>

<<You really are a weird guy aren't you?>> she said. I nodded.

I felt as though I was being watched. I quickly looked around. "Maybe I'm  just imagining things". The bell rang and the break was over. Everyone quickly ran back to their seats. I didn't make it to my seat in time. Right before I could take a seat Mr. Julius came in and called my name. "I blew it". But strangely enough he just called my name and that's it. He allowed me to take my seat. As I took my seat I saw Hina laugh at me. I looked around and everyone had a face saying "What the?". They seem to be wondering why I didn't get punished by a strict teacher. "Don't look at me with faces like that. Even I don't know what's happening". The teacher said to get ready because we were going to the gym. A testing of Overdrive gears was about to happen. Everyone was excited. I didn't feel like that was really that special. They all just want to show off. 

We arrive at the gym. Almost all the males were stretching up and doing weird poses. I wasn't really paying attention but I heard some guy say "I'll definitely make Hina fall for me with this". "Goodluck with that bud. Honestly why are guys lusting after women just for their body". We went out of the locker rooms and started the testing. The boy who was after Hina was first.. "It isn't alphabetical? So the teacher chooses who goes next". The boy screamed <<Come my beautiful Overdrive!>>. His overdrive came out. It was a spear. <<Now ladies fall for me, especially you Hina>>. I looked at Hina and she had the expression like she was gonna puke. I gently walked towards her and patted her on the back. <<Don't worry I won't let them touch you>>. Suddenly there was an earthquake. "So this is why only a few people live near this school. My old school is the opposite direction from my apartment. This school and my old school are both at the same distance from my apartment. That opposite end has a lot of houses in it. Honestly I can't blame them if they aren't safe because of kids showing off. Honestly if the rain didn't stop as soon as I arrived here this wouldn't have happened. Since there aren't any paths we could take that would keep us dry".

The teacher called me out. I stepped forward and just stood there. I sighed. "Overdrive". My gauntlets appeared. Everyone looked at me. <<Hey, what is that? I haven't seen an Overdrive gear like that before>> said Hina. "I don't even know." I said. The teacher told me to go back and that I don't need to show my abilities anymore. The guy who was after Hina looked at me with murderous eyes. I looked away from him. I asked the teacher if I could go back to the classroom. He agreed. I went back and felt that the guy was following me. I turned around to see him there behind me. <<Let's make things clear. I'm not stealing anyone from you. Also Hina doesn't belong to you>>. He seemed like he was preparing to charge at me. Right before he could charge at me the teacher came out of the corner and told him to go back and he will have a serious talk with him regarding what he was about to do. I entered the room only to see a silver haired girl sitting at my table. She greeted me. <<Long time no see Kashi>>. I don't know what she's talking about. I haven't met her before. <<Do I know you?>> I said.

<<No, but I'm the only one who knows you.>> she said.

<<That badge, you're from Class-A. You're also the same year as me>>

She nodded. She chuckled as she left the room.

I took a seat and laid my head down the table. A few moments after I heard laughing. "They're finally done with the testing? That was quick". I continued my sleep act. Everyone went into the room. The teacher announced that class dismissal will be early today since it's the first day and that they also have to take care of some things. Everyone was so happy. "Why go to school if you're just excited by early dismissal". The teacher came to me and told me to stay. Hina looked at me curiously. I agreed to stay. He dismissed class and told me to follow him to the Principal's office. 

We arrived at the Principal's office. <<Good day to you, Kashi.>> said the principal. <<Good day to you too Miss.>> I replied to her. She told me to keep my abilities secret and in check since it's the first time they saw something like it. "Now that I think about it, I didn't see Hina's Overdrive gear". I've got no choice but to agree since I don't really want to stand out.
