[ How does it feel? ]

I know that I'm taking quite some of your time, but I have a question. How does it feel to have friends and being loved?

It's been almost 3 years now since I last felt my emotions. My parents abused me to the point that I couldn't feel anymore. A month ago I finally moved out and today is the first day of school. In the longest time I've always been walking to school and whenever it rains I just bring an umbrella. But for today the weather was really not that great. I went downstairs to the bottom of my apartment and ran to the bus stop. <<15 minutes before the entrance ceremony. First day of school and I'll be late.>> Everything isn't going well for me as always. The bus finally came. It was filled with students that also have the same uniform as me. But I wouldn't want to get involved with them. They look like guys from a biker gang, but the only difference is they're not that buff.

<<Hey look it's another student that goes to our school>>

I deliberately ignored them  and went to the seat way at the back of the bus. I can see them looking at me. "I think I pissed them off". I looked out the window. " So even guys like them can be Elites huh?".

" Elites, people who are born with high compatibility to the Overdrive gears. The Overdrive gears are just like weapons made by modern technology. Basically Elites are just weapons. But unlike in an anime, manga, or novel we are not used to fight monsters or participate in wars. We Elites and our Overdrive gears are used to participate in tournaments and duels."

The bus arrived at the school. As the doors of the bus opened the sun came out. Wellson High, one of the most prominent schools for Elites. I step out of the bus. It was like a normal school day. But as soon as I stepped through the gates I saw a blade flying straight at me. I dodged the blade. "That was a close one". I suddenly hear a loud explosion. I looked around and saw a crowd of people that seemed to be watching a duel. Not wanting to involve myself in, I simply continued walking. While going up the stairs to the door of the gym a girl stood in front of me. A beautiful girl with skin as white as snow and jet black hair that reached all the way to the back of her knee. Her glance at me looked like she was about to slap me. <<Impressive, you dodged my knife.>> she said. "She was the one who threw that?". She went down to me and offered to shake hands. <<Nice to meet you I'm Hina Ayano. I'm in the same class as you, Class-C>>. I shook her hand. <<Nice to meet you I'm Kashi Kusarage>>. We walked together and entered the gym. "It's large. Wait a minute did I just make a friend for the first time? Huh that's a bit of luck". We sat next to each other. It seemed like I was the first person she spoke to at this school. The program was postponed a little bit because of the duel that happened. "That was an interesting Overdrive gear. Well not really interesting but dangerous. That explosion was so loud that it seemed like even the air was vibrating. But it seemed like no one was hurt. Seriously, what were they thinking in doing that?". 

A few moments later the program finally started. It was like the usual program I experienced in a normal school back when I was still a middle schooler. It seems like the ones who started the duel were our seniors, two 2nd year highschool students. I looked beside me and saw a serious look on Hina's face. And just like that the entrance ceremony ended. Me and Hina went to our classroom only to see that there was already a duel that was about to start. But right before they could summon their Overdrive gears the teacher walked in. Just by seeing the teacher they immediately stopped. Our teacher is Julius Tachibana, one of the top Elites in the whole world. With his gaze I could already tell everyone is terrified. And just like that our first day of school as Elites has started.
