13 Better Perks

When Ray enters his building, he sets up his alchemical station, and prepares the water.

'While I am waiting for the water to boil, I might as well look at the perks.'

Ray pulls out his card, and goes to the perk section. He sees for all of the basic ones, except for Time and Divine, he sees spellcraft.

For Time he sees, sacred spell pack.

For Divine he sees, Benevolent Deity.

'Hm, I think I should get the Spellcraft perk for Mind, seeing as how I don't have a spell for that. Sacred spell pack is also an obvious choice.'

'What Does benevolent Deity do?' Ray thinks.

[Benevolent Deity: You can grant people Titles, as well as 2 minor blessings per month]

'That could be good for fostering a small clergy…'

[3 perk points invested!]

[Sacred Spell Pack Opened!]

[Sacred Spell: Time Bolt!]

[Passive: Whenever you throw something, its traveling velocity is doubled]

[Active: You fire a bolt of time that rapidly ages, and brings forth several different instances of time, rapidly destroying the target, this costs 30 mana]

[Sacred Spell: Time Shell]

[Passive: Any attacks made against you, slow before impact reducing the impact by a small degree, while in your territory, it is slowed even more]

[Active: You can create a large shield of Time, stopping anything that touches it temporarily, this costs 6 mana.]

[Sacred Spell: Time Skip]

[Passive: You can teleport 30 feet, with a 10 second cooldown, While in your territory the range is multiplied by 10.]

[Active: You can stop time for 5 seconds, but while time is stopped, you can not interact with others without breaking the spell. You must be in your territory to use this active effect. This Costs 6 celestial mana]

'Woo! A whole bunch of spells I can't use around others!' Ray thinks sarcastically.

'But they are really good.. Especially the ability to teleport, and stop time. Alright, now how do titles work?'

[Titles: You may grant a person a title, granting them increased power or knowledge depending on the title, as well as other effects later on. You may also grant a family a title, allowing their lineage to be empowered.]

'Hm, that can be good. But first, I need to go into town and find a forge to use until I can set one up.. And a way to make money to pay for said forge.. Ugh.'

Ray groans, knowing how difficult making money can be.

[Time Skip]

Ray teleports outside of his building, and quickly straightens himself.

'Oh god that felt weird..'

"AHH!" Modri shouts and falls when he sees Ray appear, out of seemingly nowhere.

"L-LORD KAINE?! Since when can you teleport?!" Modri stutters.

"Hm? Since always. Anyway, I am going down to the city again, I won't be back for a while." Ray says.

"While I am gone, I want you and your kin to acquire more lumber, don't use it though, I have something I need it for."

[Time Skip]

Ray teleports as far as he can out of his territory, and begins to walk to town.

*****

'Alright.. first goal, find a way to make money.'

Ray begins to ask for part time jobs, most of which don't pay too well, or joining a guild, which he can't do while in college.

But after a while he finds a construction job, which is paying anyone who signs on for the day.

'Guess it's better than nothing… Though the guild job does give me an idea for later.'

Ray signs on for the construction job, to build a new shop in a lower section of town.

He works for a couple hours, but due to his construction skill, he is having a decently easy job doing so, getting all the work he was asked to do way before they expected.

[Construction Skill Leveled Up!]

[Construction Skill Lvl 3!]

"Oi, you there, you seem to be quite a skilled craftsman. If you want, we can hire you for another job, we'll pay you double the normal rate!" One of the observers shouts.

"Alright." Ray jumps down from the floor he was on, and heads over to the other construction site.

After working for another 3 hours he finishes.

[Exercise Bonus!]

[Reward: Strength and stamina increased by 2!]

[Amount required for 'Exercise bonus' increased]

"Hey there youngin, you did quite well today, here I'll give you a bonus." The boss says as he hands Ray 22 Silver pieces.

'Perfect, hopefully that should be enough to rent a forge…' Ray thinks as he walks off looking for a smithery.

*****

'Hm? Kraun's Smithery?' Ray notices a small building with a freshly painted sign.

'New might mean not well set up… But it could be easier to haggle.'

Ray walks in and sees a bulky man with long hair, and a rough beard.

"Hello there! Welcome to my smithery, just got it set up. But I'm a certified smith nonetheless! The name's Kraun." Kraun shouts.

"Hm, I was looking for some forging materials, as well as a forge to rent." Ray says.

"Eh? Rent..? Well I don't see a big issue with that. For materials, I got iron, steel, silver and gold." Kraun says.

"Gold? Isn't that a weaker metal..?" Ray mutters.

"Weak? Maybe, but it is by far the best metal for enchanting especially if it's with a power stone. It reinforces the metal. But it is quite pricey." Kraun Replies.

'Shit… Sounds like that would be best…'

"How much would it cost to make a longsword and dagger made from gold?" Ray asks.

"Hm.. For the materials, Including all the other required supplies… Probably around 15 Silver for the longsword, and 7 silver for the dagger."Kraun says.

"Alright I am willing to pay that, but if we factor in the cost to rent the forge… It may be better to go to a different forge…" Ray responds.

"Hm… You know what, you are my first customer… For your first time I'll let you rent the forge for free!" Kraun says.

[Title Gained!]

[Divine Scammer]

[Reward: New skill, Accelerated Scamming!]

[Effect: You find it quite easy to scam others, allowing you to haggle extremely well]

'I didn't scam him!!!' Ray screams in his mind.

Ray gets the materials he needs and while he is heating the forge up, he sees another spectral card appear.

[New skill gained! Metallurgy lvl 1]

Ray spends hours working on the longsword and dagger, making sure that every detail is perfect.

He then treats the wolf pelt he got yesterday to make the grips.

As he was melting the metal down, he melted a power crystal into them for both.

[Do you wish to infuse your divine power into the weapons?]

[Y/N]

'What? But i'm not in my territory..'

[While forging weaponry or armors, you may choose to infuse anywhere from 1-3 celestial mana into the weapon. If you are outside of your territory, you may spend mana that would be equal to that amount of celestial mana]

'Hm, that's pretty good, alright, I shall infuse 3 into each.'

[Infusion begun!]

[What effects would you like to grant the golden longsword?]

[You can grant three]

[Reduced weight: The weight of the weapon is halved making it easier to wield]

[Infusion pathways: Infusing mana into the weapon is far easier.]

[Arcane Protection: The weapon will create a magical shield to protect the wielder]

[Arcane affinity: You can choose one affinity, while wielded by by someone with that arcane affinity, any spells that can be used through the weapon are enhanced]

[Enhance Attribute: Choose one attribute, while wielding this weapon, that attribute is increased by 10]

'Hm, not too many options but these will do, I guess for the longsword, Arcane affinity: fire, infusion pathways and arcane protection.'

'For the dagger, Enhanced attribute: speed, Arcane affinity: wind, and infusion pathways.'

[What would you like to name the longsword?]

'Shard of Ignis.'

[What would you like to name the dagger?]

'Fang of Tyfonas.'
