4 CHAPTER 3

Here I am, enrolled in the New York University. My dream school, I, Samantha Summers, have always had an idea of what I expected out of life. I had almost everything planned, and I just like things organized and with a consistent flow. However, I was intelligent and talented. I've never really been my teachers' favourite back in high school. Apparently, I'm rude, and I have no filter, but hey, we can't all be perfect now, can we?

My phone buzzes in my skinny jeans' back pocket, which brings me back to the present. I grab it and see Barbara's name flash on the screen. I unlock it with a smile and read her text, 'don't you think, even for a second, that just because we are in different colleges that you are allowed to forget about me or even replace me'.

Ugh, always so dramatic this one. Before I could reply, another text pops up,' I miss you so much already. I doubt I'll ever have fun in this place without you. Still, we'll definitely hang out from time to time'  '. In other news, the guys here at Winchester are SUPER HOT!!!, you should see the student president, so freaking edible; the girls are skanky as expected though'.

This girl is definitely going to love her uni experience. Barbara has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. We met when our family moved to Alabama. They were our neighbours, and we went to the same school, camps, family vacations, and even when my parents died, hers were still good to Zack and me. They were like a second family.

'Oh, I see how this is going to go. You will ignore my texts till I give up on communicating with you. Well, guess what? You won't get rid of me that easy' I decide to reply before she drives all the way out here just to kill me.

'Relax, woman. I was just settling in; I'm happy you've met some eye candy. The only soul I've seen is the secretary who was ogling over Zack and faithful to his nature; he flirted with her, haha, my roommate isn't here yet.
