7 Chapter 7

Once he reached the office he went straightaway to his boss and asked, "Good morning sir, how are you today?"

"I'm good Rohan," he replied. Mr. Gupta liked Rohan and wanted to send him off on a special project to Los Angeles for three months. He knew Rohan was an asset to the company; he was brilliant and took his job very seriously and because of that, he'd recommended him to their Managing Director.

Mr. Gupta was a simple-minded person but his wife Roshini was a conservative woman with complicated versions of life. They had three kids; two elder daughters and a younger son. He'd invited Rohan and a few other junior employees to his place once for lunch and both his teenage daughters instantly liked Rohan. His son was ten years old and hated the fact that his sisters were paying more attention to someone else other than him. Roshini had made a great lunch for them all.

"Rohan, when are you planning to get married?" she asked before she nudged him a bit and added, "My sister's daughter is twenty-five. She's done her graduation in Home-Science and makes a great meal. You must visit her someday." She turned to her husband and said, "Guptaji, you must arrange for them to meet."

Mr. Gupta was thoroughly embarrassed and asked her to serve the dessert instead. "Darling, please feed my juniors first, your dessert is out of this world and I want them to enjoy it. Let everyone know about that." Roshini felt proud and instantly left the table to get the dessert and so the lunch ended amidst fun and laughter.

Later Mr. Gupta found out Rohan had married Sneha. He was relieved that he had married anyone other than his niece!

----

Back in the office Rohan comfortably perched on the chair opposite and asked, "Sir, my wife wants to visit the office. Can you please sign an entry pass for her?"

"Sure. Let me know when you want to bring her here and I'll sign it."

Rohan thanked him pleasantly and went to his cubicle to look at the day's tasks ahead. He was so immersed in his work that he didn't notice Stella entering the door of his department. Her perfume was so strong it filled the air quickly and announced her presence to everyone else, but he didn't notice it today.

"Hi there, someone is really busy," Stella said softly approaching his cubicle, "Care to join me for a cup of coffee, dear?"

Rohan looked at Stella and said, "Hi!" Stella looked pretty in her pink shirt and black trousers. Her pink lipstick complemented her face and he was instantly drawn to her. Sneha disappeared from his thoughts immediately!

"I have some work to get done. I'll join you in half an hour, okay?"

"Sure," she said and smiled at him before she left. She understood office demands and was careful enough not to force herself on him at such times. She went back to her cubicle situated a floor above his.

An hour later Rohan went to her cubicle and they went off for lunch. She was aware of the people staring at her; everybody knew that Rohan was married, just not to Stella. Though they felt bad for her they also wanted Rohan to get along with his wife.

It is a general mind-set. People eventually want a husband and wife to come together, no matter what. They will make snide remarks taking it seriously.

"Look at her! How come she is still flirting with that boy? She should leave him now!", said one of the women.

"I think Rohan should stop being with her. He has to take a call."

"What a cheap women! She should be ashamed of herself for still clinging on to him."

"She should leave him and move on!"

Someone took their picture and posted on his Facebook. There were over hundred likes and dislikes and several comments within a short span of time!

Stella felt like a vamp who was trying to steal someone's husband, but Rohan was hers. For the past five months she had carefully taken every step possible, it was important that Rohan came back to her. To hell with all those who made remarks and stared at her rudely!
