Sneha wanted to tell Rohan about this incident, but didn't want to disturb his already anxious state. She requested that Ramona and Sumit also did not mention it to Rohan. He sounded worried. He was hiding something from her. She didn't probe too much. But then today's incident left her thinking. "What is going on with Rohan? Who is trying to kill me? Is Rohan's departure to City M related to my this? Is he again trying to leave me? If that is the case, he should tell me directly. No! This is ridiculous! Rohan would never plot a murder against me. I should go to City M to get all the answers else I'll never feel safe."

She told Ramona about her plans to join Rohan in City M in the afternoon. Ramona didn't want her to go anywhere.

"Are you mad? What if the killer is lurking around? I cannot take chances. You will not move out of the house until this is sorted. Do you think Raj would have given you the permission to go to City M in such circumstances?"

It was obvious that none of the elders in the family would allow her to leave the house for some days. She would have to sneak out.

Two days later when Sneha didn't come for tea even at 9am in the morning, Ramona went to her room only to find a neatly made bed and letter on the pillow saying, "I have to be with Rohan, Mom."

Sneha reached City M in the morning. She immediately took a cab to her apartment.

A policeman opened the door of the apartment.

Rohan was sitting on the sofa and there were at least four more policemen searching his apartment. Sneha's jaw dropped. She couldn't understand what was happening. Why are the police here?

"Sneha, why did you come here?" Rohan almost shouted upon this sudden unexpected arrival of the person he wanted to protect the most.

Abdul knew that this was Rohan's wife. He welcomed her and requested her to sit beside Rohan.

"Sorry for this kind of welcome, ma'am, but we are just doing our duty. We believe your husband has committed a murder." Abdul went on to tell her about the body that was found in the suburbs of City M and how that led to Rohan.

"This is outrageous and unreasonable. Rohan was with me all the time. We had gone to Langkawi. Rohan, tell them."

"Yes, we know that story."

"It's not a story!" she shrieked.

She told about the shooting incident that took place at her place in Jodhpur two days back. She said that it could be verified and that the FIR was lodged.

Abdul was even more surprised. "Why would anyone try to kill Sneha? Rather, who would try to kill her?" The motive was unclear.

Rohan, on the other hand, listened to the whole episode and started quarrelling with Sneha for not telling him about this incident.

"You were already tense. I didn't want to give you any more worries."

"Worries? What worries me is that you are not safe."

Abdul hushed the on-going argument. "Shut up!"

Sneha was crying by this point. Rohan didn't approach her to calm her down; he was annoyed.

"Sir, there is nothing here. We have searched every nook and corner," said the constable who was leading the search operation.

Abdul left their apartment after that, hinting that he would come again and cautioning Rohan not to leave the city.

The apartment looked as if a tornado had hit it. They had raided the closets and thrown out everything. The mattress was pulled from the bed and the bed sheet was strewn across the room.
