15 Chapter 15

Today...

He introduced her to his colleagues, "Meet my wife, Doctor Sneha." He strongly emphasized the word wife.

His colleagues greeted Sneha with a lot of affection. While all the men felt that a bolt of lightning had struck them, all the unmarried women felt just as bad. They knew with Stella swooning all over Rohan every day, they never really had a chance with him. At the same time, they were surprised that Rohan had married someone else besides Stella.

Sneha was enjoying all the attention and felt special. She was called over separately by the elderly women who admired her immensely.

"You are so pretty! Your hair are so beautiful and long!"

"You've married the most eligible bachelor of our company!"

"Which branch have you specialized in?"

"Do you like this city?"

Twenty minutes later Rohan took her to his boss Mr. Gupta who welcomed her into the family. He also invited her to attend the official party that he was giving the upcoming Sunday. When they came out of his cabin, a lady held Sneha's hand and pulled her to a crowd that was beginning to form.

Thirty minutes passed and Sneha enjoyed herself immensely amongst the newly found friendships and adulation. Somebody had offered her a cup of coffee without even asking Rohan whether he wanted her to or not. This was her first big-time interaction with people since she had arrived in City M and she didn't want to leave. The conversation she was having with Rohan's colleagues was hilarious and she hadn't realized she finished her coffee so fast.

Rohan was watching her intently and was getting furious. He wanted her to sit with him all the time. But she wasn't even looking towards him! On an impulse he got up from his chair and strode in her direction. He found two men standing very close to her much to his chagrin.

"How dare they stand near her!" His mood dropped to sub zero. While trying to refrain from revealing his thoughts, he gently held Sneha's hand and pulled her towards his side.

"Oooooooooo! Really?!" His colleagues started commenting excitedly!

She wanted to have one more cup of coffee but didn't want anyone to get it for her. So she asked the way to get it. Then she excused herself and went to the café machine to order one for herself. Rohan showed her how to get there and went back to his work station.

While she was waiting for her coffee she watched Rohan. All of a sudden she saw a beautiful woman approach Rohan. She sat close to him and talked rather intimately and held his hand looking lovingly at him. Rohan seemed to get into a deep conversation with her and it appeared very odd. At the same time, all the people who had gathered there began to disperse.

Sneha was watching them intently when Paritosh penetrated her thoughts. He went on to say that her husband would soon be divorcing her and marrying this girl named Stella. She felt like slapping Paritosh and looked at him angrily. After exchanging a few comments, she steered her way toward Rohan wanting to demand an explanation of what was going on. Her head was bursting with questions and her headache was returning.

Stella was pretty upset about the fact that Rohan had invited Sneha to visit the office. She asked, "Why have you invited her here? Everybody knows that you and I are a couple." She glanced at Sneha and continued, "This incident is just going to make me look ridiculous. What will people say about me? Have you no sense?"
