16 CHAPTER 16: The Fifth Wish

[Sasha Shadows]

It was time for me to fulfill my fifth wish, which was to finish my work - the undone assignments and the last two story chapters of my novel - faster than usual. My fingers were typing on the laptop keyboard at an indescribably fast speed. It was supposed to be a surprising and fun experience for me, yet I'd no longer found enjoyment when it came to granting those remaining wishes due to the information I knew so far.

It took me 30 minutes to finish my seminar essay, which was obviously faster than my usual one-hour speed. Without further hesitation, I began typing the remaining storylines of my novel. Ideas flowed through my head like the wave of the sea, pulling me away from writer's block.

As a result, not only that I managed to publish all the remaining chapters in one day, or night because it's already night time by the time I published the last chapter, I even had the strength and ability to dm all my readers and followers to show my gratitude to them. Yes, you did not hear wrong. All of them.

Although not all readers and fans revealed themselves saying that they'd been supporting me and reading my book, I just happened to know where the faithful readers were hiding. Maybe it was due to my spiritual sight; maybe it was due to my own instinct…

And true enough, the more I trusted my own sixth sense the larger the impact I gave to my readers. Resultantly, most of the feedback showed how happy and grateful these people were when they found themselves being noticed by the author.

"Need help, big sis?" Isabelle asked with her legs crossed when she lay on the couch.

"It's okay, I can handle this," I smiled. "Thanks for the offer by the way."

She waved with a swaggish demeanor. "Don't mention it, it's your choice to make anyway."

Appreciating Isabelle's consideration, I turned back to the laptop screen and continued the things I needed to do. It was needless to say that the positive messages and paragraph comments drove out a wide smile from me as I read through all of them. My fingers went numb due to continuous typing, but getting positive messages from my readers and followers led me to forgetting the pain. Without these people, I wouldn't have felt love and seen how my book turned into a wonderland instead of a wasteland.

Apparently, these lovely people were the ones to fill in those blanks that made the book worth reading and writing. Their simple actions solved the puzzles of my shattered heart and fired up the ideas hibernated underneath my brain.

Suddenly, an unread message caught my point of view. Out of curiosity, I clicked into the chatroom. It was one of the fans I'd thanked just now.

clecartwrt: omg, thanks for notice me senpai. I'd been waiting for your update these days. You write good books, I admire you <3

A gasp left my mouth agape until my action finally stopped. My eyes fixed on the brief reply sent by this person. To be honest, I'd texted so many readers lately and this person was like a key to the padlock chaining around my heart, unlocking it and setting it free. I could feel it pulsing faster until my heartbeat was the only thing I can hear.

His words were concise and sincere. Excitement was what I felt as I heard my instinct scream "this is Clerence Cartwright" for a dozen times. I remembered watching him wait for my new update as I was granting myself the second wish, if I wasn't wrong. At that moment, I happened to register his username and he's my silent reader. Although he'd never commented, he voted.

shadowriter_: I'm truly glad to hear that. By the way, why are you sounding so alike as someone I know?

As I was certain that was the right person, I suddenly came out with an idea to make him say anything about his feelings or somebody he knew. Curiosity sometimes got the best of me and I really couldn't help it.

clecartwrt: what creates this idea in that beautiful head of yours, senpai?

Still in his flirtatious way, huh? Should I expose him and tell him how much I love him?

Due to my own inner battle, my fingers stopped in place when I tried to think of other ways to let him admit himself.

"Tell him about the pine trees, Sasha," Isabelle's sudden emergence in front led out a squeak from me. My shoulder shuddered in the meantime. "Tell him how those pine trees look familiar to you."

"Geez," I cringed at the idea when sending her an "are you serious" glare. "This is the lamest excuse I've ever had. Plus, I'd never visited his place in real life, so this will end up creepy." I rejected the suggestion with my index fingers jerking from left to right and then back again numerous times, my logical thinking told me the action was a big no-no.

[Clerence Cartwright]

I was too tired after the horrifying experience at the Fun Fair. After replying to my favourite author's message, I fell asleep by accident until my phone dinged once again.

My heavy eyelids fluttered as I reached for my phone. She answered my question that reminded me of Sasha. As I looked closer, the username was "shadowriter". Shadows was Sasha's last name, so it made me wonder about the true identity of the writer behind the scene.

Oh Sasha, please wake up soon.

With my mind clouded with the thought above, I couldn't help but shake my head in sorrow, though I was grinning wearily on the outside. My eyes turned sore and watery as I forced myself to not cry. Tears began to brim on my cheeks and stained my pillow the more I held them back.

I didn't answer the question but put my phone aside. I just needed some sleep and everything would turn better, hopefully.
