29 Negotiating for the Spirit Crystal Mine

Ke YongAn looked at her hand at a solid good few moments, looking even more like a weirdo. Actually, Ke YongAn tried to take her hand off of that bow several time, exerting more strength each time, but for some reason, could not let go.

The shopkeeper really felt like kicking Ke YongAn out right now for her weird and suspicious behavior but stopped when he saw the terrifying glare of Yan RuSu.

Why...can't I let go?!

Ke YongAn began to panic as situations flashed through her mind. If I can't let go...how will I get out of here? Will I be charged with attempted theft?

"What are you looking at?" Yan RuSu's voice dragged Ke YongAn out of her fantasies. The people around turned away and did their own business after this, but still sneaked glances out of curiosity.

"Uh...I can't let go." Ke YongAn whispered to Yan RuSu when she came closer.

Yan RuSu looked at Ke YongAn strangely like she was mad.

"No, seriously, I can't let go."

Looking at Ke YongAn being flustered, Yan RuSu deduced Ke YongAn wasn't lying. An amused look emerged on her face again.

"I guess I can call this fate little brother. You know what? I can pay for you."

"This isn't a time to joke around!" Ke YongAn was very much so about to die from panic. She was still a lady, okay? Why would she want this thing stuck to her hand all the time to the point she couldn't change or take a bath easily?

And so, Ke YongAn exited the shop with the bow and the rusty-something-in-a-corner(to her insistence, and now known as RSIAC). Yan RuSu was slightly opposed for Ke YongAn to bring the RSIAC but it was super cheap, so Yan RuSu just decided to ignore it.

On the other hand, Ke YongAn was practically switching between two expressions(only through the eyes though), one of excitement and the other of depression when she looked at the weapons. For now, Ke YongAn identified the RSIAC as a sword, but couldn't see anything special about it yet even after using her eyes. On the other hand, the bow remained just that - a bow.

However, as Ke YongAn struggled with the bow: walking, eating, drinking, peeing, sleeping...it was inevitable that she had grown attached to it. She even called it Xiao JinTie.

Therefore, after these situations, you could say that using the bow for her was natural and it was now merely an extension coming out of her left hand.

Quietly, as time passed, the day of visiting the city mayor arrived.

"Representatives from the state of Cloud have come for a possible negation with the Mayor of the Great Floating city." Someone reported in a loud voice in the impressive hall and the entourage came through.

Of course, based on standing, Ke YongAn and the other guards stood back while the seven most notable at the front with Du GuYung in the lead. Elder Cai floated above arrogantly, obviously not putting the city mayor in his eyes.

The city mayor was not really happy about this, but he ignored it as his cultivation base was only that of the Nine Passages Stage.

"Friends, please sit." Putting on a friendly smile, the mayor gestured to the seats in the hall. The seven sat down while Ke YongAn and others remained standing behind them.

As for Elder Cai, he sat in the seat closest to the mayor without any manners.

Then Du GuYung and the mayor began some small talk that dragged on for a quarter of an hour.

"I shall cut to the chase, Mayor." Du GuYung's strong voice was clear in the hall. "We have come on the behalf of the State of Cloud for a possible collaboration. As you know, your Great Floating city has an impressive Spirit Crystal mine."

Du GuYung went on with some secretive praise and landed on the heart of the matter,

"It would be great if we have your cooperation to lend 50% of the revenue from that mine."

In a loud bang! the city Mayor stood straight up. A startled expression that turned into anger in a split second hung on his face.

"Guests, I best think to leave things at here and discuss another day. Guards, escort my guests out the door. Please remember your bearings."

The city mayor was obviously enraged at the fact that Du GuYung and others had the audacity to ask for this. The Spirit Crystal mine was one of the major income sources that supported the Great Floating city.

"Wait." Du GuYung's voice seemed to have a strange power to it that caused everyone to pause and pay attention.

Du GuYung, why do you seem to be like that of an MC from a book right now? Ke YongAn internally thought.

The city mayor's expression was cold but allowed Du GuYung to speak.

"You never let me finish speaking. Listen carefully mayor. What I am proposing will change your city forever. However, there are a few prying ears around."

The mayor's expression turned darker at this. Not only had he dared to ask for 50% of the revenue from the Spirit Crystal mine, he even asked for a private conversation!

The mayor also became suspicious. He had clues on the rebelling people in the city, and for these people to show up now and demand a private talk could all be a conspiracy.

No matter! The city mayor thought, thinking about his trump card. Therefore, he quickly came to a decision,

"Guards, away. Now, how about yours?" The city mayor flicked his sleeve as his guards understood and obediently exited the room.

Du GuYung then stared at the rest of the entourage and nodded his head. In turn, everyone else nodded their head and left. It was now just Du GuYun and the city mayor, the contents of their conversation unknown.

When Ke YongAn got outside, she felt bored. After all, she only stood and listened in that hall to the boring chit chat before the real business got down. The entourage spilt up as if it were all planned, and Yan RuSu had some rare business to take care of. Although Ke YongAn was curious as to what her business was, she left it alone.

Just as a few odd minutes passed with Ke YongAn strolling around the streets, she sensed a gaze of a young lad who had a intricate bow slung over his shoulder. As Ke YongAn returned the look with confusion, the young lad had made his way over.

"Hey, you're Xiao Lu, right?"

Ke YongAn opened her mouth, confused and wary at the stranger who suddenly approached and struck a conversation with her. The young lad didn't give her a chance though.

"Senior brother said you were wearing blue clothes and had an ordinary iron bow. It's me, Fei Dan."

In the end, Ke YongAn was harrassed for half a day and couldn't say anything and was unwillingly pulled along. She tried to resist, but found that she couldn't shake him off. It was obvious his strength was above hers.

"Senior brother told me you would try to run. We can't afford to waste any time."

Time about what? Who the hell are you? How are you sure I'm Xiao Lu? And most importantly, Let go, Let go, Let go!!

Now her guard was turning in full gear, nerves tingling and wanting to run away from this situation.

Why am I always getting pulled along???
