1 Prologue

"Follow her immediately, the thief has escaped!"

I sprinted as quickly as I could across the treacherous hallway while toting a large bag filled with gold. I can't help but become frustrated when running since my long hair keeps getting in the way of my vision.

I said under my breath, "Ah, fuck."

I let myself in by opening a random door. As soon as I hear footsteps outside the door, I let out a gasp before holding it.

"Report, the thief has gotten away."

My muscles calmed as soon as I heard it, and I started searching the room for a window. I opened it when I found one and the chilly breeze embraced me; I was on the top floor and couldn't just carelessly down. I fixed the rope instead of wasting time so I could go down securely.

Everything is ready after a minute, so I throw the bags first, leaped out the window, and waited for my feet to contact the ground before jumping out. It's a good thing the items in my purse are gold rather than delicate jewels.

I untied the rope around my waist and started to run quietly. Behind the bank will be where I'm going. A carriage with my colleague is waiting for me there.

I whistled when I got to the bank's back wall, and a rope appeared there in instant from the other side of the wall. I climb it and give him the bags with care.

"A piece of cake." he declared while whistling.

The coachman moved the rickety carriage outside as I stepped inside. I gasped for air and took off my wig and mask. Oh, my God. My long, white hair keeps framing Ice's face because the window is open beside me, but he didn't seem to mind.

He laughed and bit the gold on his lips, "Wow, you loaded up the bag."

"Yeah, it was an easy job to wait and chill inside the carriage, isn't it?". I said sarcastically.

His face crumpled and immediately released the gold in his hand.

"I know you can do it better than anyone, that's why I didn't help." He said trying to coat my anger but I didn't give back a response.

While looking outside the window of the carriage I can't help but think that my life should be more normal than this. My hands wouldn't have been tainted by dirt if those humans didn't made a mistake. If it wasn't for them I won't experience torture, murder, stealing, and doing some illegal transactions. I am a criminal with piled-up cases but not even one enemy has a clue to my face. That's why I have no reason to hide in the dark.

But what's weird to me is that I remember my past life the day I was born in this place, everything. The moment I opened my eyes, these unfamiliar places welcomed me until I processed it all that I have reincarnated, and you know what's more interesting? I have Imperial blood, I am the daughter of the emperor ruling the empire right now.

This should not be how my life is. If those people hadn't made a mistake, my hands wouldn't have been tainted by filth. They were the reason why I tortured, murdered, stolen, and engaged in various illicit activities. Even though I have a record of unresolved cases, not one of my enemies knows who I am. I, therefore, have no need to remain hidden in the dark.

I recall my prior life, including the day I was born, though, and that's what I find strange. As soon as I opened my eyes, these strange places welcomed me, and as I absorbed this new information, I discovered something much more fascinating. I am descended from the Royal bloodline; my father is the emperor who rules the empire.

What happened to me? It wasn't me; it was the other two power-hungry people! At the same time that my mother gave birth to me, the maid she trusted had a daughter too. The maid's husband discreetly entered my room with their child and changed our place. Due to the effect of my previous existence, which I had already become aware of, I was too young to see it because I was already aware.

The old man took me up after the maid's husband threw me on the streets because my hair color caught his eye. He was both my angel and my hell; as a result of him, I turned criminal. Can you blame me? I just want to survive as long as I obey all of his goddamn ridiculous commands!

I was unaware that we had already arrived in front of the elderly man's home. I gave my wig and mask to Ice as I took off my coat. I went downstairs and the maids greeted me. I looked to my colleague Ice and nodded as he already understood his job.

I turned to face our house, the starting point of everything. Grandfather, please wait for your own medication to take effect; it will produce a fantastic performance.

"Welcome back, Lady Audrey Verillion."
