Little Action, Big Reaction

Two days passed and Tian Hagen was still in a deep slumber. Tian Tang and Ai Shu were extremely worried for their son, but the reports from the doctor claimed that everything was fine and there was nothing to worry about. The couple had no choice but to trust in her words and wait patiently.

Finally the third day came around, and as Mei Fang predicted, Tian Hagen's eyes opened. He woke up to complete darkness and silence with no one around him. Without making a sound, he sat up in his bed and looked outside of the window to his right. The city lights that shined brightly through the window with a dazzling radiance and he looked down at his hand quietly while whispering, "Where am I?"

Tian Hagen got out of bed and went up to the window, pressing his face against it. A sudden wave of dizziness washed over him as he fell to the ground coughing profusely. Grabbing a metal bin at his side, he proceeded to vomit into it loudly attracting the attention of a nurse who was passing by outside.

The door to his room suddenly popped opened and a young woman in a nurse outfit stuck her head in to find out what was causing such a racket. "Somebody get Doctor Mei Fang! Patient 108 has just woken up!." She called out loudly when she spotted the young man vomiting into a trash bin. Running up to him and patting his back to calm him down, she whispered, "Just breath, just breathe."

A few moments later, Mei Fang came running down the hallways and barging into the room with Tian Tang and Ai Shu in tow. The couple were there for their daily visit when Tian Hagen conveniently woke up. When someone came up to Mei Fang in order to tell her the news, Tian Tang and Ai Shu heard it too and came running after the doctor. The couple's eyes brightened when they saw the person with his head halfway inside of a trash can, "Tian Hagen!" The two of them said in unison as they headed over to where he was kneeling in order to check up on his condition.

Mei Fang gave off a sigh of relief. She was glad that the young man had finally woken up. Now she wouldn't have to worry about incurring the wrath of the primordial hero, if the young man didn't wake up that day. She stood there for a few seconds before walking over to Tian Hagen and doing her job, making sure that everything was okay.

She brought him over to a private little room in order to question him about a few things. While he answered almost all of the questions normally there were a some things that she got worried about. Some of the things that were asked got a strange response in return, which she believed to be a side effect of him somehow mixing up his regular memories with his dreams. Which was something he could have since he was only in a semi-comatose, semi-sleeping state.

Some of those strange questions and answers included Mei Fang asking, "What is the last thing you remember?" And Tian Hagen responding with, "I was falling down to the core of the planet before it exploded." She could not understand where such a strange and random response came from, but Tian Hagen would change his answer to a more normal response just seconds later. This also made her think that he might've been pulling a small prank.

The check up went smoothly with Tian Hagen's physical health appearing to be almost perfect. Although, some worries were held about his mental health, Mei Fang's power could find nothing out of place. Finally, she decided that it was okay for him to return home and she recommended to his parents to allow him to rest his body for at least one more day.

The three of them left the hospital soon after with Mei Fang falling back onto the bed that Tian Hagen had been resting on. She felt as if years had been taken from her lifespan considering how nervous she was the whole time the heroic couple were around. Suddenly a loud ding came from her phone, she pulled it out of her pocket and read the message that was sent to her.

{Money Has Just Been Transferred Into Your Account} she clicked on the button that said "New Balance" and almost fainted by the amount she witnessed. "How can so many zeroes even appear in this screen!"

~~~~~~~~~~
"Don't you think you transferred a little too much money into her account?" Tian Tang was currently sitting in the back of a limousine, watching his wife send a large amount of cash into Mei Fang's bank account. Ai Shu shook her head and said, "Based on what I could sense, her ability in healing must be incredible. We have so many fighters in this world, but rarely would a healer of such talent appear. It's better to support them and get on their good side just in case we face any trouble."
"Do you really think I'll ever face any trouble?"
"Arrogance causes the death of many." After Ai Shu said this, Tian Tang stayed silent in order to allow her to continue with her work. He turned over to his son who was casually sitting there while looking out the window. Every once in a while Tian Hagen's eyes would widen in amazement as it fell upon random sights.
It was as if he was experiencing everything for the first time, but he clearly remembered seeing these buildings and shops before. After a few minutes passed, they all arrived home and Tian Hagen slowly walked into their home with his parents.
They lived in a surprisingly normal house that looked no different than any of the other buildings down the street. This was one of the qualities of his parents that Tian Hagen loved the most, they didn't allow their fame or money to go to their heads. Of course, this didn't mean they didn't have any extravagant items inside of this normal looking building.
Entering into the house, the first thing he spotted was a single person running up to and tackling him to the ground. Tian Hagen fell back in a panic while a beautiful young woman with silvery-white hair fell on top of him, "You're okay!"
Something in Tian Hagen's mind clicked and he recognized her immediately. It was his sister, Tian Aixin.
She was older than him by only three years and they were surprisingly close with one another. And unlike her powerless brother, Tian Aixin was a genius comparable to her parents. Her power was the ability to control the four basic elements and bend them to her will. Because of this, her status card gave her the strange title {The Real Avatar}.
Tian Aixin was quite young when she understood the importance of being powerful in the world they lived in. Because of this knowledge, when she discovered her brother was powerless, disgust and disdain were the only things she felt for him at first.
This all changed after she saw something inside of him that she usually never saw in other people, the will of a true hero.
When they were little, Tian Hagen and she both went to the same school. There she was praised and almost worshipped for being a genius in not only her studies, but her strength as well.
Meanwhile, Tian Hagen would be constantly bullied and made fun of for being powerless. Even though his grades were just as great as her own, the fact that he had no power made it so that people ignored this fact. Even then, he never fought back or tried to do anything. This wasn't because he knew he was weak and figured that he couldn't win, but it was because he didn't like hurting people that much.
Tian Hagen never tried to defend himself and accepted all that his bullies threw at at him. No matter how much it pained him, he gritted his teeth and dealt with it. When she first saw this, Tian Aixin also thought he did it because he was a weakling and he knew his place. She never tried to help him and would even secretly support the bullies actions in her heart. But then one event changed it all.
An upperclassman, who had a crush on her since she was an incredible beauty even at a young age, came and asked her out on a date. She rejected him without a second thought and in his anger and embarrassment, he decided to assault her. Because he was a few years older than her and had more time to level up his power, she couldn't win in a direct confrontation against him thanks to her inexperience.
There, an unlikely hero arrived. Tian Hagen came out of nowhere and used his body to guard her. He acted as her shield and blocked every single one of the upperclassman's attack without even thinking about his own safety. He also distracted the opponent a lot. With his help in distracting the opponent, Tian Aixin was able to defeat the man without much worry.
After the battle, Tian Aixin brought her brother over to a hospital in order to get his wounds checked out. He passed out after the upperclassman was defeated and she actually kind of felt worried for him for the first time ever. To her surprise, the wounds he received were almost fatal. Without even thinking about his own life, he protected her who ignored him in his time of need. He risked everything to help give her a fighting chance and whenever he needed that same type of help, she just turned her back on him.
A deep feeling of guilt and regret pierced at her heart. Enlightenment dawned upon Tian Aixin at that moment as she realized what being a hero truly meant. All her life, Tian Aixin has always looked up to her parents and aspired to be a hero like them without even understanding what being a hero truly meant.
Being a hero meant that she would use her powers to protect the people around her, no matter how weak or how unimportant they were. Even if she didn't like them, it didn't matter, she had to help them in their time of need. That was what it meant to be a hero.
Thinking back to her brother's actions, she understood that he almost perfectly embodied the the ideal hero, minus the whole not having strength thing. After that day, she had a new goal in life. To be a hero as strong as her parents, and to be someone as heroic as her little brother.
Most people would look up to and respect their older sibling, but she was different. While she still saw him as a kid and her little brother, there was no denying the admiration she felt for him deep within her heart (even though she would never admit it).
As they grew older, Tian Aixin slowly closed the awkwardness between them and eventually they were almost inseparable. And this time, she did whatever she could to make sure that no one would dare mess with her brother again!
After hearing from her parents that Tian Hagen just got hit by a car, Tian Aixin panicked for a while. Her parents told her to stay home and watch the house as they left and she spent hours waiting for good news on her brother's condition. Luckily when Tian Tang and Ai Shu returned home, they reported to her that he was alright and he just needed a few days of rest.
Tian Tang and Ai Shu would go to the hospital to visit him everyday with Tian Aixin tagging along once in a while. She heard just recently that Tian Hagen had woken up so she excitedly stood by the door awaiting for their return.
Looking up at his sister Tian Hagen stayed on the ground helplessly, "Can you get off me now? You're kind of heavy."
Tian Aixin, "How dare you! I'll have you know that I am actually the perfect weight for my size, age, and body type! In fact many people would even be envious of my body."
Although she retorted his words, Tian Aixin still pushed herself off of her brother and stood straight up. She worriedly looked over Tian Hagen's body and said, "Is everything okay? Do you feel pain anywhere?"
"Yeah, the place that you landed on. I swear you bruised my lung." Tian Hagen gave off a small chuckle while saying this. He stood up and turned to his sister to convince her that everything was fine, "I swear I just need some sleep, I've been feeling a bit dizzy lately so my body probably needs some more rest."
"But you've been resting for over three days!" Tian Aixin still worried that this dizziness was something more serious and was trying to get Tian Hagen to return to the hospital.
"Tian Aixin, the doctor said that he is fine and he really does just need more rest. Leave him alone for now and if he still feels dizzy later, we will bring him back to the hospital immediately." Tian Tang stopped his daughter's persistent attempts at capturing Tian Hagen.
Ai Shu on the other hand looked to her son and asked a question as well, "Are you well enough attend the academy tomorrow? It is only the first day of school, you don't have to go if you are feeling too unwell." The school Ai Shu was talking about was a heroes academy. This was a place that taught and nurtured young men and women in order to have them grow into great heroes in the future. The one that Tian Hagen was accepted to was also one of the most prodigious school in the entire city.
Usually in order to join an academy like this, the deciding factor in whether or not someone was accepted into it was both a person's power and past grades. Tian Hagen's acceptance was a bit different though. Due to his exemplary grades, parents who were well respected among the school staff, and his unique gift that got him noticed by a teacher of the academy in the first place, he was accepted into the academy despite being powerless.
This meant that both Tian Aixin and Tian Hagen would once again be going to the same school.
Tian Hagen paused for a second and thought to himself whether or not he was healthy enough. After considering his condition and his current state, he believed that after a good night of rest he would be completely ready for class the next morning, "Yeah, I'm sure I'll be fine by that time." He said this to his parents and waved goodbye to everyone in order to signify that he really needed to sleep.
Tian Aixin waved to him goodbye and shouted out behind him, "Get plenty of rest!" A smile crept onto Tian Hagen's face as he held up a thumbs up without even looking back.
Honestly, he was very happy that his sister was so worried about him. A few years ago, she wouldn't blink at the sight of him actually being killed, but now it felt as if they were a real family. It made almost dying from the attacks of the upperclassman all those years ago worth it.
As Tian Hagen entered into his dark room, he hopped onto his soft, bouncy bed. It was made out of a cool slimy substance which would change temperature depending on the environment. It was an incredible thing that he loved sleeping in since the bed was so soft that he sometimes thought that it was actually a fluffy cloud.
He had to sadly get out of bed a few minutes later in order to go through his usual routine. Entering into the bathroom, he took a nice, long, and hot shower; dried himself; changed his clothing; brushed his teeth; and once more hopped onto the bed once he was done with everything.
Crossing his legs and closing his eyes, he began his usual routine of meditati-
Tian Hagen stopped everything that he was doing at that point. He looked down at himself and at the pose he was taking, he thought about the thoughts that he just had, and he eerily thought about how right his actions felt. If anyone could read his thoughts, they would probably ask why he was freaking out so much.
The answer was because he had never done something like this before in his life. Tian Hagen never once sat down crossed legs and tried to meditate ever! Yet at the same time, he felt as if this was natural. As if this was something he always did every single day for years.
"My goodness! I really am incredibly tired…" he thought to himself that maybe this was something very normal for him and he just forgot since he still was in shock thanks to the crash. Despite convincing himself that this was the reason, something inside of him was telling him- no, screaming at him that something strange was going on.
Even with this strange feeling inside of him, Tian Hagen could not deny that doing his meditation or whatever it was felt oddly comfortable…
In the end he decided to let nature take its course and continue on with it anyway. After all it wasn't like what he was doing would have that much of an impact on his life.
Yet, this small action changed his entire future for better or for worse.
Just a second chapter I made randomly. I still might not continue this series, so sorry if anyone likes it so far (although I doubt anyone does)?
