3 Waking Up

Jack was falling. His eyes saw nothing, only a dark void. His voice wouldn't come out; he couldn't say anything. Then, a bright light appears. Closer and closer, Jack fell towards it. And soon, he reaches it. And then he wakes up.

Jack awakens with a jolt. Looking around, he saw that he wasn't somewhere on the road, but in a room. His arm was hooked to an IV drip, his heart being monitored. There was some red tulips with a 'Get-Well-Soon!' card underneath it. It didn't look like anyone was beside him. He saw a calendar next to the door. Leaning as much as he can to take a closer look, he saw the date. February 12. That's 2 days after the incident. Has it really only been 2 days?

A doctor then walked into the room, holding some papers. He took one look up, and dropped the papers. Jack could see the look of shock on his face. "So, Mr. Leslie, you're awake," the doctor said. "Er, yes. Yes I am," Jack said in response. He could speak. Odd. "Well, that's great. I'll call your parents, let them know that you're awake." Jack could see the disbelief in his eyes, even if he tried to hide it. "Oh, uh, hey doc... Why're you so surprised? I mean, I know I woke up a bit early, but it seems like it's more than that." "Well, yes your recovery was quicker than expected. Considering that you're already able to lean forward that much tells me that your broken ribs have already healed. Furthermore, all your injuries in around your body is gone. No scar tissue either. Your body managed to heal itself rapidly, and efficiently as to not leave a scar," the doctor explained. "No scars? You're kidding, right?" Jack asked. There's no way. "No, I'm not. You can take a look in the mirror if you'd like," the doctor said back, pulling out a hand mirror. Taking it, Jack looked into the mirror. And he's absolutely right. Jack could see the spots where cuts were sewn together on his body, and yet, there were absolutely no scars whatsoever. Slowly pulling on the string on one of the sewn on parts of his arm, and was surprised to find that instead of actually staying on, the string slowly unwounded. Doing this one by one he removed every sewed on spot he could find. When he was done, he just said "Wow, that's surprising." Looking at the doctor, who was for some reason, still standing there, mouth slightly open. After a while, the doctor says "Alright, I'm going to tell your parents that you're awake and healthy."

After the doctor left the room, Jack looked around the room, and didn't really see anything of interest. He did decide he needed to use the bathroom though, so he decided to stand up. Leaving the bed, he realizes that he can stand up perfectly fine. So he goes to the bathroom.

A little while later, a man and woman, both looking at least 40, barge into the room, catching Jack by surprise. One look at them, and Jack knew what to say. "Hi mom, dad. It's me." Suddenly, the two of them rushed to him and hugged him tightly. "Oh, I thought that you wouldn't make it!" him other said. "Try not to worry us too much again, please?" his dad told him. It didn't matter. They were just glad that he was somehow still alive, and awake. "My, look at you! You don't even look like you were in an accident!" his mom said, looking at the surprising lack of scars. "Yeah," he replied, "I'm not too sure on the details myself..." "Ah, it doesn't matter. Come on, let's check you out, since you're already very healthy," his dad said. "Alright, let's go," he replied, getting out of bed. The three of them left, and Jack was off about to live a normal life again.
