2 Chapter 1

Lu Wang walked on, chicken in hand and stride unaffected. "No need to feel disappointed, master", said a voice in his head. Stopping for a short enough time to mistake as a misstep, he walked on. His new partner then promptly fell asleep.

Though he wasn't as smart as Scholar he knew what had just happened, and the very impossibility as well as hope it provided.

The stronger the spirit creature the longer they took to open spiritual wisdom, this fact was as well recognised as the sky being blue or the moons being two. With this being so, the talented youths of a lower rank sect could generally beat those of a middle rank sect due to having established a bond with their spirit animals faster, of course when those middle rank sect youth grew it became less and less possible for a lower sect to beat a middle sect member. This led to the phrase 'A tiger is born a tiger and a monkey is born a monkey, don't even dream of a monkey giving birth to a tiger', which briefly meant that even if a low rank sect beat a middle rank sect it shouldn't dream that it could develop further.

Well considering this, did it mean that a middle rank could beat a higher rank sect. No, this logic did not apply to higher rank sects. The reason for that was that higher rank sects animals were born with ancestral memories. Ancestral memories were a type of inheritance that gave cultivation techniques, knowledge of language and general guidelines of who you could and could not mess with. This gave higher rank sects great advantages over the lower ones even if their animals grew slower them having ancestral knowledge gave them a huge advantage.

Lu Wang had an inkling of the reason why his partner could only speak so few words before sleeping. Inheriting ancestral memories had both minimum requirement to bloodline and energy. He assumed the bloodline requirement had been met due to the obsidian color which was probably inherited from a previous ancestor as such a color chicken had not been documented before, as his sect focused on chicken few other sects could boast more knowledge of chicken spiritual partners.

That only left the energy requirement, holding such a high purity bloodline theoretically meant his partner could reach and break through the limits of the average low rank sect animal's cultivation but relying on that alone would waste his partner's potential.

Lu Wang gathered his partner with more care, regardless if his partner was a devil, god, or trash he would not see him mistreated, he had to find a way to make up for the energy deficiency due to the weakness of his partner's body.
