4 Little Hunter

On a mountaintop stood a small human figure. Getting a closer look, this strange individual is no other than Ambrose himself (What is he doing there?!).

In an attempt to hunt his own meat, just as Howard, he is gazing at the vast land covered with dense forest.

Outside the city of Skyrock, spread out, there are few hunters on the lookout, evidently in search of a great catch. Studying these groups of hunters may prove beneficial for when he'll try to do the same (if at all, there are any hunters at the age of four).

Some of these hunters use basic magical skills to catch prey, though they aren't always successful sometimes.

With his unique eyesight to discern distances beyond the reach of any eyes, young Ambrose is able to see every hunter, no matter where they are (some of them are not from the city of Skyrock).

"Something isn't right," he mumbled.

Many meters away, there are woodlands far denser than its counterpart. They emit an uneasy sensation, and the hunters, no matter how good they are, never went through that location.

"Interesting,"

Leap after leap, Ambrose slowly cuts the distance between himself and his destination, until he arrived.

"So that's the reason,"

Inside the denser, forested environment, he sensed multiple magical presences. Many of which felt troubling.

"What do we have here?,"

A few steps away is a tiny, strange creature. It looks very much like a squirrel but has blue furs (unusual). Young Ambrose wasn't taken aback by this, almost like creatures such as this are a common sight.

The tiny blue squirrel noticed his presence almost immediately and ran towards him. It seemed scared for an unknown reason.

"Where is your family, little one?" says Ambrose as he lifted this unusual being on his palm; "Did you get lost?"

*Squeaks! Squeak!!*

Little squirrel tried to communicate to this human, but as you might have guessed, Ambrose understood nothing of what it is trying to say.

*Gruuunnntt!*

A bizarre park of Wolves appeared. They look nothing like the usual wolves we know (scary!). Their gleaming red eyes gave them a much more terrifying presence.

"I see... the appearance of such hideous creatures is indeed alarming".

Though bewildered, Ambrose remained calm (unexpected!)…

"Alright boy, stay safe," said Ambrose as he places the little creature inside one of his pockets.

*Awwooo!!*

The Magical Wolves charged at the defenseless-looking boy, fully ready to devour him into different parts.

Several tiny bodies of water were pulled out from the ground and trees alike. With a hand-sign from Ambrose, these tiny bodies of water shot their way towards the wolves like bullets and it pieced multiple parts of their body, effectively immobilizing them.

"Hunting isn't so hard after all," says Ambrose. The once vicious creatures now look more pitiful.

"How do I take them home with me?"

It is highly impossible for a kid his age to become a meat hunter, not to talk of hunting a magical creature. Keeping a low profile is still the best plan.

The little blue creature popped its head out through Ambrose's chest pockets, looking a little relieved.

"Alright little one, you're safe now," says Ambrose, but the little creature is reluctant to leave.

"Can't take you back, you should leave"

The little blue creature remained reluctant, and Ambrose had no other choice but to return with it. Taking a few steps in the opposite direction, he stopped in his tracks and turns around, walking towards the immobile magical beasts.

"I have other use for you," an evil smirk appeared on his lips.

Ripping out their mana core, young Ambrose absorbed it all.

"Ambrose!! where have you been?! We've been searching everywhere for you," says Blythe. She is, without a doubt, worried.

"I caught something," says the innocent boy as he lifted the young rabbit he caught.

"Did you leave the city?"

"Yeah, that's the only way I could have gotten this," says Ambrose.

"No Ambrose, it's too dangerous. You should not be going outside the city," Blythe complained.

"Hahaha, has his love for meat finally pushed him to go hunting?" Mr. Howard said.

"Precisely," Ambrose admitted with a straight face.

"What will I do with this child?" says Blythe.

"Don't be too hard on him, he's a man,"

"He's just four years of age,"

"Still a man to me," Howard defended. "Next time, let's go hunt together. How about that?"

"That sounds like a plan," replies Ambrose.

"It would be nice to have someone practice what I do best," Howard had a big smile (it looks more like a grin)

Ambrose attained a bit of fame for his earlier deeds. He now goes by the name; Little Hunter... you guys already know how he earned that.

Whenever Mr. Howard goes hunting, Ambrose almost always accompanies him, and all of his hunting attempts were fruitful. He also spent his free time studying the Magic Book that was handed to him by Dexter, and to his surprise, it proved useful. Thus, studying also became part of his schedule as he also needs to have made reasonable improvements two years from now before Dexter's return.

Danica also made use of Ambrose's book for herself. Like I said in the earlier chapters, she is interested in the use of magic, and after many weeks of endless perseverance, Danica unlocked an aptitude.

She has an earth based aptitude. The power to manipulate plants to her will. Ambrose gave that ability a satisfying name, which is known as; Wood _works and Danica is pleased with this.

The new tiny creature was also welcomed to the family and treated like one of their own, giving it more reason to want to stay with them. This strange creature also helped with hunting. Due to its powerful sense of smell, it could locate the nearest meat.

Though he never admitted it, Mr. Howard has gotten used to having Ambrose accompany him in his hunting job. Catching animals has become a lot easier than it used to be, thanks to Ambrose's talent in the use of magic and, of course, the blue creature's sense of smell.

"I will be leaving soon, so you will have to hunt on your own," says Howard.

There was a small camp right outside the city, very close to a river. Ambrose and Howard are both sitting around a small campfire where a lump of meat is being roasted.

"Why?" Ambrose asked.

"I work as a Merchant, and my job is located days away from the Skyrock city,"

"I see,"

Ambrose isn't bothered by this, he can do his hunting by himself, but he had to put on a show just in case.

"No worries. I'll introduce you to a friend of mine. He also works as a Merchant but will still be around for a while, perhaps, you two can team_"

"There's no need for that," Ambrose interjected.

The last thing he wants is having to work with someone, especially an adult who may want to exploit him just because he is a kid... and yes, Ambrose is a little greedy too and wants to have it all to himself.

"Are you sure? Hunting isn't always easy," says Howard. "You had me by your side, that's why we did well over the weeks."

'Just admit it, Mr. Howard, hunting became easier thanks to me,' Ambrose thought.

"You may want to leave a little for your family back home," Howard commented. He felt weird watching the young kid devouring every meat and gulping them down.

"We can eat it all,"

"Now we can't,"

"You're underestimating me, Mr. Howard,"

"I'm I?"

"You're about to find out," says Ambrose. But after few minutes of continuous eating, Ambrose is getting stuffed, without a doubt, he's reaching his limit.

"Ok... you're right,"

"Hahaha, I told you so," Howards laughed, "Come on, let's go back home, shall we?"
