The history of LEGO

In 1932 the the famous toy LEGO mode its first step into the lives of children Created in the country Denmark, the nome LEGO means 'ploy wes. The creator of the toy fist started in a small woodworking shop selling wooden toys Iike cars and houses.

After World War I, the creator bought a plastic making machine which would allow him to start making plastic toys. However these plastic toys did not sell well back in the 1950s because children liked wooden toys to play with.

During this time the LEGO company was making wooden bricks. The creators of LEGO thought they might be able to use the plastic machine to create bricks, that would fit together. So in 1956 the first LEGO brick was created and sold

It was first bought to America in 1961 and in 1964 it started to be sold in sets with instructions in 1978, LEGO first created the min figure people, which have now become an important part of ony LEGO set.

Since then LEGO has taken the world by storm. As of 2013540 billion LEGO ports have been sold worldwide! LEGO become so popular in countries around the world LEGOLAND theme parks have been created for children to explore.
