In the contemporary world, these Bearers, based in India, Europe, the Arab world and China,follow the visions shown to them by the Obscures, to save people from doom. And while doing so, they try to strike a balance between using these extra-ordinary superpowers to save others and refraining from using these powers to protect themselves and their loved ones from the miseries.
