Chapter #4

<It's been a couple of days since dad and I had our conversation. But now I'm back to my regular schedule, and today's particular lecture isn't something I'm exactly thrilled about.>

"Welcome students, please proceed to your desk and take a seat. We will be beginning my favorite class, "Yex 101." Formally known as "The Basic Fundamentals of Yex." Professor Haynes passionately announces.

"But before I can begin I seem to spot a misplacement amongst us. Damien didn't I instruct all students to head to their designated seats. But you seem to be sitting idly in an unassigned seat. Did you already forget my basic instructions?" Professor Haynes questions.

"Well, you see, I left to go to the nurse, and I-"

"Stop making aimless excuses Damien, you've already wasted my class time. Your seat is next to Arta's, hurry up and sit down already." Professor Haynes remarks bitterly.

"Fuck, I wimped out right there. I seriously need to start standing up for myself, I look like a complete haisha (failure) lately."

"Seriously Damien, you've got no macho whatsoever, but I'll help you out. My Dad once said, when a man is tempted with a dilemma, an infeasible predicament, all you have to do is… Stop being a pussy and man up." Art grins sincerely.

"...fuck you"

"Damien, I'm sorry, I can't help it. It seems like I can't help but tease you whenever I'm around you." Art grins extensively and starts laughing hysterically.

<Art is unlike most, her uncensored way of speech gives off a sort of comforting feeling. Moreover, now that I got a proper look she is astonishingly beautiful. Her flush lissome sun-bleached hair, her enthralling long divergent eyelashes, and intoxicating smooth lips could sway any man's heart. If not for her loathsome personality, I think I could fall for her.>

"Ahem! Now that we are finally situated I will be beginning class. To the uninformed I will explain the basics, starting off with "what is Yex" in simplest terms. Yex is the internal soul of all humans that allows the user to increase all aspects of their body and life. Such as allowing the user to go deep into their subconscious and unlock inhuman powers, such as psychokinesis, invisibility, and super strength" Professor Haynes elucidates.

"But unlocking the full capabilities of your Yex isn't all sunshine and rainbows. There are multiple steps before you can reach your full potential. For instance the three classifications of Yex you need to master before successfully and safely being able to dive into your subconsciousness. Does anyone know the names of these classifications? Professor Haynes quizzes.

"The three classifications of Yex are called, "Offensive Yex", "Defensive Yex" and 'aura yex', the student answers confidently.

"Correct! To be seen as a true master of Yex, the three Yex's need to be mastered to perfection. You may be wondering how I can become a master of Yex? It all comes down to two aspects. For starters, the depth of your internal Yex plays an important role in your development. With a substantial depth of Yex, it makes it easier and less sophisticated for the user to practice and understand how to use Yex properly."

"Secondly, is the talent to be able to consume the Yex circulating in the air, and being able to redirect it directly into your internal Yex. Being able to do this accelerates the process of Yex manipulation and refreshes your internal Yex which stabilizes and improves your practice on Yex."

"So in short having a significant depth of Yex makes it easier to practice and greatens your understanding when using your Yex. And having the talent to absorb Yex circulating in the air quickens your progress and fastens your progression during practice." Professor Haynes concludes.

"Now that the basics have been covered, I have been instructed by the Dean to inform you all that the annual Orofell tournament will be held in 2 months. As you all know the High Bridge Academy will be competing against four prestigious schools, In a tournament of wits and power!"

"With this in mind my beloved students, for the next two months you will be drilled by our school's top-ranking Yex users on how to become a formidable Yex user. I hope you can survive these following months." Professor Haynes smirks in excitement.

"Isn't this great Damien, This means I get to see you get your ass handed to you for the next two months straight, plus the Orofell tournament to add to the mix. I seriously can't thank the Dean enough for such enjoyable moments to behold in the future." Art rejoices in anticipation.

"Ha, envision all you desire, I have a special plan just for this occasion. multiple steps of unbeatable tactics, already planned for the next two months. Just you wait Art, I'll show you."
