HOHB - the lion and the fly...

Chapter #6

<Yesterday, we had our preliminary training lecture, for the Orofell tournament. Subsequently, after yesterday's barbaric class. I was ultimately left with a broken-down body filled with affliction. Additionally to this, I was left with a problematical dilemma to deal with...>

"Yo Damien! Sorry for the wait there. I couldn't find my favorite panties, it even has cute bananas all across it for good luck. Now thanks to that my day is completely ruined." Art remarks in annoyance.

"wh-why are y-you talking about that stuff so casually? It's embarrassing when you say such lewd stuff randomly."

"Oh, Damien, are you embarrassed right now, over such an insignificant comment? That's adorable of you, your reactions are always so enjoyable to watch. I wouldn't mind seeing them for the rest of my life. Art teases with glee.

"St-st-stop teasing me already. Now, why did you want me to come to your house before school? What are you scheming Art?"

"Isn't it obvious? We're gonna walk to school together from now on. Didn't you know that before you got here?" Art comments in a stupor.

"Why would I walk with you to school? Sounds like trouble waiting to happen."

"Well, to be straightforward, I don't have any friends at school. And you see, you're kinda fun to be around and stuff. So I thought it would be a fun idea if we walk to school together." Art blushes in humiliation.

<Well, this is unfair. It's impossible to say no when she makes such a cute expression. Additionally, it's not like we aren't in the same boat. So I guess it isn't a bad idea.>

"I guess, it's okay. I don't have any friends either, so it sounds like a fair trade. And because… We're friends, it's what friends would do, a-and not because I want to or anything!"

Art smiles in reassurance. "Awesome! I'm so delighted Damien. But we can't just idly dwell here, Instructor Yates will scorn us if we're late. Let's go!" Art grabs Damien's hand in elation.

"Aa, yeah let's go, but wouldn't people think, w-we were like dating if they see us right now?"

"Oh, yeah maybe. Wanna start dating then? Art suggests swiftly

"ART!!!"

<From that point, on we would walk to school every day together…>

*shortly after arriving on campus*

"Welcome back my beloved tutees, I hope you got plenty of beauty rest last night. Because of yesterday's complication, we will be taking a rest from physical training. And be focusing on the fundamentals of "aura yex" today." Instructor Yates voices with diligence.

"Firstly, we all know that yex is affected by your personality and emotions, as this is common knowledge. With this in mind, out of all the classifications of yex, no class is as deeply influenced by your emotions than "aura yex."

"Your emotions out of all the classifications of yex are swayed by "aura yex" the most. The reason for this is unknown, but we do know. "Aura yexes" primary power-point is your fighting spirit, additionally when in actual combat your emotions become more present as well."

"Furthermore when fighting in combat, your fighting spirit and emotions integrate together causing a substantial growth in your strength. This can also be seen in the other classifications of yex. But "aura yex" is the most affected by the two. Instructor Yates publicizes."

"Instructor Yates I have a question. When using any classifications of yex. Do different types of emotions affect your performance in battle?" A student queries.

"Great question! Yes, it does, your yex can be affected either positively or negatively. But here is the flip side to your question. "Aura yex" can only be affected by your negative emotions."

"The opposite goes for both "offensive yex" and "defensive yex" as they can only be used with positive emotions. If you attempt to sway your yex. By using a negative emotion for "offensive yex" or "defensive yex" a backlash will occur, causing the user to be inflicted with tremendous pain."

"Furthermore In situations when your emotions express rage, sadness, guilt, or jealousy, it can cause a negative effect on your yex. For the inexperienced users, they will spiral out of control and lose all control over their bodies, and go on a rampage."

"But for experienced users, they can use this to their advantage, by calming down their emotions to a degree. They can emit an attack of killing intent at their opponent to disturbing their opponents' defense." Instructor Yates replies.

"As for the emotions that cause a positive effect, it could consist of the following emotions. Hope, respect, serenity, and love. When these emotions are correlated in battle, the user's senses sharpen and become more diligent."

"But for some advanced users, they gain enhanced regeneration and more focus in battle. Leading to an increase of yex absorption and control over their internal yex in battle. Instructor Yates concludes.

"Instructor Yates for the positive emotions would pride fall under the category, or would it fall under the negative category?" a student's questions.

"Pride, hmm. Let me tell you a story about a lion and a fly. Lions are powerful and ferocious creatures, while a fly is a tiny negligible, and irritating insect. With this in mind creatures with the size of a fly, tend to sense the threat of bigger and more powerful creatures such as a lion. But pride throws this logic out the window."

"Now imagine this, a lion is taking an afternoon nap, under the warm afternoon sun in solitude. Shortly after a pleasant draft of wind motions by, a fly appears. With the natural nature of flies, it decides to annoy the lion. By flying around its head and buzzing consistently near the lion's ears, the lion gets enraged and shouts."

"Go away, you nasty insect!" the lion voiced in outrage.

"Do you think that I am afraid of you because they call you king?" the fly responds confidently.

"Evidently, the fly was not particularly scared of the lion's rageful remark. Swiftly the fly flies to the lion and suddenly bites the nose of the lion. Filled with annoyance and rage the lion fights back, but misses, and accidentally cuts its own nose. After a successful attack the fly attacks once more. It stands on the lion's paw and waits. The rageful lion heedlessly opens its big mouth and tries to swallow the fly, but the fly was so fast that the lion ended up biting its own paw."

"After two unsuccessful attempts to swat the fly away, the lion in severe pain gives up on trying to catch the fly and walks away. The fly eager to tell his friends and family how he defeated a lion single-handedly flies home. Surely the fly was going to be recognized and respected for his great feat."

"But before he can reach home, the fly helplessly sinks into a small spider's web. The fly lays there in a panic, while he struggles to escape. But ultimately the spider arrives back home and eats the insect for dinner."

"Now, my story may have answered your questions or left you with more. But the idea of pride can be seen as a positive or negative emotion based on how it is expressed. But as a wise man once said "pride is the devil"." Instructor Yates concludes and glances at his watch.

"It seems my story went over the designated time limit. I will be ending class now, we will resume physical training class tomorrow. I will be showing you how to stun an opponent during battle, and how to follow up with an attack. That will be all, you are excused." Instructor Yates speech enunciates.
