Back to the time Kai and An Ni had just celebrated their 1st birthday, Xiulan had just stepped into Fu Ling's office to break a piece of disheartening news to him.

At first, Fu Ling thought she was playing a prank on him. Imagine coming into his office during lunch break to say she wanted to break up with him.

It sounds crazy saying that out of the blue no matter what.

It's been almost a year since Fu Ling officially asked Xiulan out. And they were about to celebrate their first anniversary, it here she was saying that she wanted to break up with him.

Fu Ling was calm and collected while watching her. He remained calm as he studied her facial expression and little movements, while she spoke, and when she was done, he leaned into his seat and asked a question.

"Why do you want to break up with me?" He asked. He didn't want to ask if she was joking or not because it looked like she was still very serious.
