7 5 Years Later

[A/N: Edmund is now 9 years old.]

As time passed, Edmund's desire to see the outside world grew. He started making a plan. He would go to Sanctuary #01. The Sanctuary was divided into many sections, all of which were connected through teleportation formations. Sanctuary #01 was the one located at the Cygnus estate on the capital city of the Angus Kingdom, Fariday City. He would then drill through the wall with earth-attributed magic. Although he wasn't a specialist, who needed to be a specialist to drill a hole? The tricky part of this plan was where to make the tunnel. If it was close enough to the formations his father had set up, the formations might be damaged. However, if he perforated the hole on a secluded corner, the anti-divination formation might lose its effect, therefore making divination into the Sanctuary possible. Neither of these outcomes were preferable, and both were likely to get him in trouble. He measured the distances dozens of times just to make sure there were no mistakes.

Another problem with the escape plan was the schedule. He had to plan for when his siblings or his father would come, and be back in time so that they wouldn't find out about his escapades. The issue of disguising the tunnel wasn't a big deal. Just set up a basic illusion and voila.

On the auspicious day, he decided to wear a blue sleeveless shirt and short blue pants. He also donned a black hat that would somewhat obscure his blue hair. He didn't want to get recognized, after all. At breakfast, his father came to eat with him. His attire made him suspicious, but it was probably just a game or something. After breakfast they played together, and then it was time to leave. Once he said goodbye to his father, reminding him to work hard for good measure, he immediately went to work on building the tunnel. It was easier than he had planned, as the walls weren't reinforced or magically sealed. No one would enter the Sanctuary until the next day at the very least. As he grew up, he begged for more personal free time to read. This saddened his family, but they respected his want for personal space. Little did they know it was all so that he could spend more time outside.

A few hours after he began excavating the tunnel, Edmund finally saw the Sun for the first time in his life. He found himself in a forest full of grass and trees. Behind him he saw a massive wall, every stone of it perfectly divided, except for the hole he created. In the distance, way into the forest, he could even see a big house. A big smile graced his lips at finally beginning his adventure. He began to touch everything. The grass was itchy, but he still made sure to lie down for a few minutes. He then touched the trees, even taking a few leaves off their branches.

After looking around and feeling the wind and plants, Edmund decided to explore deeper into this wonderland of excitement. He went deeper into the forest. He started running and running. He felt free for the first time in his life. Free from restrictions. He ran and ran until he could see that the house was way closer than he had first thought. It towered above the trees, more than a hundred meters into the sky. He was still quite far away, he didn't want to be seen yet. To be honest, he was scared of meeting someone.

Suddenly, a few leaves rustled to his left, and a small figure came out. It was as tall as him. Soon he identified the creature as a human. She had long flowing bright blonde hair, and a pink dress that was usual of nobility outings, making it perfect for quick movement but still elegant enough to be recognized as a noble. She looked at him and seemed fearful.

Edmund, having his first contact outside of the Sanctuary, reacted as expected. He panicked.
