9 Luxion

This time around I did inform my parents before I left. Instead of holding me back like I initially thought they'd do, instead, they sent me off with smiles, trusting me to return home once again.

The ship I left in was incomprehensibly bigger and more advanced than the one I used previously. I had actual facilities dedicated to taking care of myself.

Being able to take showers even when on an adventure really is the best.

According to the Mediocre Sage, the place I was looking for was around a couple of thousand kilometers away, the same as the uncolonized island that held the dungeon.

With the speed I was going and the consistent breaks I was taking, it'd only take around a 4 days. The speed difference between this ship and the last was mind-boggling.

Making use of the incorporated training room, when I wasn't flying, sleeping, or eating, I was trying to improve my ability with the sword.

I never had anyone to actually teach me, nor did I seem to possess Evelyn's ability to mimic just by watching. All I could do was correct myself based on what I thought needed to be fixed.

I will admit, I have been neglecting my magic training ever since I gained [Get creative], at first I had tried to keep up with it but somewhere along the way I began to strictly practice my swordsmanship. My excuse had been that when I saved up enough I could just buy whatever magic skill I wanted and use it without even needing to really know how it works.

The problem with that though… was that I could learn some of that magic on my own without the ability and save LP.

It's funny, in my old world I would've never passed up the chance to learn something like magic. But, when met with the reality of it, I'm actively avoiding it.

With that realization, I couldn't help but shake my head before getting up from my sword stance. Waving the sword around I went to the rack where the rest were and put it back.

'Let's start with some magic control." I sighed before sitting down.

A few years back I had stumbled on a book about the basics of magic. That had been the catalyst for my learning, and the first step they recommended was to get in tune with your mana.

And so, I sat down in a comfortable position, and began taking deep breaths. When I felt steady I began looking inward, focusing on my mana.

The four days had passed very quickly and before I knew it I had arrived.

Directly above me was a whirlwind and directly below the ocean was shining. As I lowered my ship down into the shining part of the ocean as the Sage informed me, I braced for impact.

Right when my ship made contact the entire thing creaked as it was suddenly blown upward.

Thankfully, I made sure this thing was built extra tough so it wouldn't snap in half.

Before I knew it, my ship had gravitated toward the whirlwind and I was sucked in.

"That wasn't pleasant." I groaned as I began unstrapping myself from my seat. I could tell the way the ship landed was backward as I could feel the blood rushing to my head and my hair was standing upward.

Right when I was unstrapped I began falling and quickly tried to swap my head and my feet.

I landed with a thud on the ceiling of my ship which had now been flipped upside down.

It was very annoying actually getting out of the ship on the account of the doors to exit suddenly now being too high for me to reach.

Thankfully, my newfound strength allowed me the ability to climb my way up and force open the doors.

Finally, on solid ground, I put my hands on my legs and began observing my surroundings.

My ship was relatively fine, only having a few scrapes. It had crashed straight into a few trees and left part of the land destroyed.

On the other end, however, it failed to damage the factory-like structure that stood not too far away as well as the ginormous tree that towered above me.

Avoiding the various strange robots that monitored the place was impossible. Instead, I had to actually fight my way through.

I tried to be as quiet as possible after each of them was destroyed and achieved mild success.

Using Sage I navigated myself through the hallways avoiding the robots I could and destroying the ones I couldn't.

Eventually, I stumbled upon the remains of two people with white lab coats. Noticing that the next few doors seemed to require key cards I snagged one of them, taking a second to stare in awe at the first glimpse of English I had seen since coming to this world.

This facility if I remember correctly once belonged to the old humans.

I wasn't quite sure of the exact purpose, all I did know was the existence of a certain artificial intelligence.

I had admittedly put off going after it on the account of I didn't know how difficult of a task it'd be exactly.

It seemed I was right in my decision. If I had gone there before the dungeon I'd have been dead already.

My thought's disappeared as I heard yet another robot in the distance. Turning a corner I was quick to use my sword and plunge it directly into the thing's eye-like screen. That seemed to be the weak spot of these things.

It just so happened that what I was looking for was also just around that corner. Ad the robot fell down while malfunctioning I stood in front of a large door.

"It's now or never." I hyped myself for what was to come.

I pulled out the key card and after a quick swipe and a flash of green was gained entry.

And just like that I had found it. Something I had remembered from the actual original series and was able to find through the Sage ability.

The ship that housed the main source of the protagonist's strength. A lost item created by the humans of old, The Ancient Space Ship.

I entered through the side of the ship using the key card yet again.

If the main protagonist of that work was actually present in the story, then that meant I was basically robbing him of his future.

Then again, I can't say I cared too much. After all, he robbed the original main protagonist first, right?

Those thoughts flooded my mind as I began walking around the spaceship. Every component I laid my eyes on looked as if it had come from a sci-fi nerds wet dream.

My eyes wandered everywhere as I yet again used my card to swipe into another room.

My attention was forced back when a robotic voice suddenly filled my ears.

"Intruder detected."

Being quite familiar with the robots already I quickly drew my sword.

"I work here…" I said before a fight could break out. Looking at the thing now, it wouldn't be nearly as easy of a fight then with the other robots.

"Your physical features do not match that of what has been recorded of the staff, additionally it has been calculated that the survival of the workers here is 0, as such you are an intruder."

The robot followed that up by swinging its large metallic arm at me. Thankfully its movements were slow and I was able to dodge easily.

I knew it'd be hopeless but I went behind it and tried to slash at its back with my sword.

I couldn't even leave a scratch on the thing though and was forced to retreat again when its torso turned 180 degrees and it tried to grab at me again.

"Interesting, a new human not using magic as a main offense, how peculiar." The robot spoke as its 'eye' seemed to glow red.

I didn't have the luxury of talking as I instead readied exactly what he just said. In seconds from my hand, a bolt of lightning was released.

When the lightning struck the robot it began to show signs of malfunctioning before suddenly it stopped.

"Magic usage detected, employing magic barriers." With that blue hexagon-shaped patterns formed in front of it.

I just grit my teeth in annoyance before taking in a short breath.

'Magic won't work anymore…' I thought as I dodged yet another swing.

For a few minutes, I ran around the metal freak trying and failing to do any damage.

It was when I was trying to regain my breath that if finally managed to land an attack that sent me flying through the air.

Before I could regain myself, I was stopped as the robot used its giant metal foot to hold me down.

"Before you are exterminated, I must ask… what year is it?" Even while asking it was not leaving many opportunities for me to answer. Not like I planned to.

With blood gushing out of my mouth I of a way out.

LP: 10,425

That was the amount I was able to recover in the little time I spent back home.

My first instinct was to create something hard-hitting like an explosive, and that's just what I did.

LP: 9,925

Throwing it up I closed my eyes and waited for the boom.

I hadn't even considered the possibility of killing myself with the blow but thankfully I didn't need to.

The explosive went off and I felt the foot loosen its pressure and the robot begin to fall back.

I wasn't so naive to think that would have finished the job and so I ran through the smoke and to the red glowing orb I could see through the debris.

The fight was finished like that as the robot that had fallen on its ass took a sword directly through what was essentially his head.

Just like the rest, he began spasming with random electrical outbursts until eventually it 'died'.

Falling to one knee I unhesitatingly used my LP to make something of a healing potion which I drank.

LP: 8,000

The price wasn't exactly much, but thankfully it did enough to restore me. The pain was still there but bearable.

With the battle one and nothing stopping me, I headed toward my prize.

"I will not allow myself to fall into the hands of new humans." The voice of the robot return this time originating from the console in front of me.

"I have old human DNA," I said annoyed. I wanted this to be over as fast as possible. I had been searching for this place for hours.

I ignored its preceding words as I touched on the touch screen and began scrolling until I saw the language option of English.

Seeing how I easily operated the console like a normal smartphone, the voice shut up.

When it came time to scan me, it was only then the voice came back.

"It seems you were not lying, you are a new human, yet you have traces of old human DNA." The voice sounded perplexed.

"Whatever the case, you have been registered as the new owner of the ship, it is a pleasure to meet you."

Good.

"What shall you name it?"

Why fix what's not broken?

"Luxion"

Like that, I gained a new familiar in the form of an AI.
