Chapter 3- Human

2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel flew down to the steam below, curious about the density of the water. This new strange substance was exciting, the noises exhilarating. They lapped at the water, tasting the sweet water.

"The history of our ancestors was captivating enough for us to want to see this planet. Now we will make our own history here." 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel thought.

"What, I wonder how long after the asteroids fell did Earth become like this?" 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx questioned. "Everything was a lot lusher, bigger and greener. Everything is too small."

2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel shook its tails nonchalantly. Vibrational sounds echoed throughout the rainforest, many of the creatures that had come out of their hiding places went right back in. The birds in the sky swerved and dodged in the air. A second later a loud piercing sound permeated the trees and a small brown and beige bird with a sharp beak fell from the sky.

Dead!

What the hell!

"I don't understand?" 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel was puzzled.

1st Alchame Xaman-Lx rolled his eyes. "I have an uneasy feeling it has something to do with that weird piercing sound. Did you not notice all the creatures go back into hiding?" 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx scanned its eyes across the top of the trees.

"Right! I want to see what that sound was, myself." 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel enthusiastically flew high into the sky, its small and narrow frame easily maneuvering around the branches.

"Aht! Aht! Come on, no need for that. We must find our horde. "1st Alchame Xaman-Lx huffed, its cold eyes growing colder as it watched its over excited sibling.

2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel shook its head at its sibling in mockery, then turned back to searching for the unknown source that terrified the creatures of the rainforest. They looked down, suddenly aware of natives following them from below. Their skin tone ranged from golden brown to charcoal; they were tall in stature, reasonably built with thick muscles that crept along their shoulders.

"Let's introduce ourselves, they may know something." 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel laughed.

"Alright, Xynek-Chel but be careful. Just because they're small doesn't mean they're not dangerous." 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx complained. "I am tired, and I want to go to sleep after this."

2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel ignored its lethargic twin, then swooped down in front of the two-legged creatures. Left in the sky, 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx kept mumbling. The two-legged creatures huddled together as 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx dove down and settled next to its twin. Confusion was apparent on their faces, their tongues frantically clicked as they spoke to one another.

"Wake up, my darling twin!" 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel cackled. "Hope you're not scared." 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel eyes glistened in amusement.

1st Alchame Xaman-Lx looked at its twin in amusement. A cold glint crossed its eyes, and it flicked out its tongue, sensing the surrounding area. "When have I ever claimed to be scared?" 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx rolled its eyes haughtily.

'In Fact, that word is not in my vocabulary or in the list of words I would ever claim to be.' 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx thought ruefully.

2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel flapped her wings in front of the humans, scrutinizing their physical features.

"Their shells are not so different from the Ishols of the Fentos claim."

1st Alchame Xaman-Lx nodded in agreement; without any hesitation they both went back to their original form. Demolishing the trees and wildlife around them. Their powerful black opal bodies radiated with heat, giving off a sense of dread that made the natives cower in fear. Their sharp claws dug into earth. their tongues sensing their surroundings.

Beside 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx l was 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel, a perfect duplicate. Smoke streamed from its nose as 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel breathed heavily. The two-legged creatures backed away, stumbling over each other in the process.

"Show some respect, they seem intelligent enough." Both siblings instantly bowed, their snouts hitting the ground. 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel closed its eyes concentrating on suppressing the dangerous aura that emanated from its body. 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx followed suit.

After a full ten minutes, one brave soul, the smallest of the lot, inched his way forward. He stretched out his shaky arm as far as he could reach; his hand trembling as it neared one of their snouts. Once connected he felt a warm surface;1st Alchame Xaman-Lx's scales felt like it had been in a sun bath for hours. making the scales toasty warm. The sensation calmed the small native down.

'Whew!' The native let out a breath, his breathing became even, his body steadied, and he began to smile at his comrades. Then one by one, due to their curiosity the rest of the natives braved through their trembling hearts and came forward. The natives caressed and examined the multi-color facets that were on the dragons.

"Be careful Xynek-Chel." 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx warned, just as 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel decided to lift its head. "Don't move, we don't want to scare them."

"Hmm. Their hands are very small but very pleasant." 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel murmured.

Very slowly 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx leveled its eyes to the natives and looked directly into their eyes. Within a blink of an eye, 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx contorted; its scales smoothed out and its color changed to dark chocolate. Its two tails and two of its limps retracted while the other legs transformed into human arms and legs. Still taller than all other humans but no longer their humongous self. 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx's golden and emerald eyes were set deep in his face, while his nose became smaller, and his lips became full, soft and firm. 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx's torso and back reformed, leaving broad shoulders, a flat stomach and strong muscular arms and legs One look and anyone could take that he was a man.

The spikes that formed a crown on top of his head grew long and wavy. His long red hair flowed to the middle of his back. He turned to his sibling, only to see that 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel had chosen to be a female human. 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel was a chocolate goddess, with smooth skin, long tight curly red hair. Her golden and emerald eyes were big and bright as they sparkled like two gems. 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel was as tall as her sibling, above six feet tall with, large breast and a nice size backside. 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel smile captivated the men as a full set of dimples appeared on her cheeks matched with a cleft chin.

1st Alchame Xaman-Lx nodded his head in appreciation." So, this is what a female looks like. Not bad"

2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel ignored her sibling and rolled her eyes in amusement, her lips twitched as she held back a smile. 'We should be able to communicate more effectively now.' She looked around, the colors the humans saw were different than what the birds saw or even how their natural eyes saw things. They were clearly missing a lot of colors that were in the spectrum.

With an emotionless face, 1st Alchame Xaman-Lx introduced himself and his sibling. "My name is Xaman-Lx, and this is my sibling Xynek-Chel." He blinked his eyes patiently. "We didn't mean to frighten you." The natives looked at each other startled.

"Can you speak our language?" the brave soul asked. Hearing a deep voice that reminded them of a bass drum. His features were comical as he laughed in excitement.

2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel nodded her head. "Yes, it did not take long to learn the language and to learn everything about each one of you. "Her eyes surveyed them like a hawk, seeking its prey.

1st Alchame Xaman-Lx shrugged his shoulders, cracked his neck mechanically as his muscles flexed as he put his neck back into the correct position.

"We need your help; we are looking for our horde…."

"Others like ourselves, they would have similar eyes as ours.''1st Alchame Xaman-Lx looked at the surrounding men, hoping to find any hint that these humans knew what he was talking about.

2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel waved her hand dismissively. "But what I want to know is what was that horrible sound we heard earlier? A bird fell down dead after it sounded." She enthused.

"I am Olugbenga, these are my brothers." The brave soul waved his hands in the air. "That sound you heard was a gun; it makes a loud noise. A small bullet comes out and sometimes it stings and hurts but other times it can kill you, ending your life." His voice was grave, his eyes frightened as they darted around, looking through the trees.

"As far as we know. there are a lot of outsiders lately, but ones with your eyes are very rare." Another native spoke up.

"I haven't seen any of your kind in years."

"Hmm… A weapon." 2nd Alchame Xynek-Chel nodded in understanding. She growled furiously; her beautiful face contorted in anger. "Who would make something so disgusting to kill such a small defensive creature."

Creation is hard, cheer me up!

Its the new year and so far this story has come along well after rewriting it.
