1 Koshiro Saiki: Origin

"If you could choose your own fate, what would you pick? In a world where everyone has life energy and the government wants to take it for 'technology use'.." Koshiro thought silently as he walked through a landfill of a city. He looked around and saw cats eating food by a dumpster, along with trash all over the streets.

The clouds were dark as well and everyday it seemed as though there would be a violent thunderstorm.

The streets had cracks and potholes with each direction that he looked, though he walked along as if it wasn't anything new.

Koshiro slowly turned his head away from the cats and continued to walk down the broken down street.

~flashback~

An alarm clock was muffled out by Koshiros deep sleep, but when he heard it he quickly opened his eyes and looked over at the small clock. "Crap I'm late!" He yelled out in frustration before jumping up off his mat he made on the squeaky wooden floors.

He quickly kicked up his blankets and ran to his closet, shuffling through his tiny wardrobe. He stopped when he saw his black school uniform and khaki pants. "There we go."

His house was very small, he only had one room that had little to no space, though there was room for a oven and stove.

Once he grabbed it, he ran to the bathroom and quickly changed into his school uniform. He brushed his teeth, and washed his face before looking up at himself.

He had white fluffy hair that covered one of his eyes. His other eye was very vibrant considering it was a bright red color but it had heavy bags under them.

~present~

Koshiro looked up at his broken down school, with a sign on it that said 'Haisu Academy'. Since he was late he quickly ran inside of the school and to his class.

When he made it to his class however, he paused in front of the door and took a deep, shaky breath.

He slowly opened up the squeaky door, causing everyone of his classmates to look at him from the loud noise.

A guy with black hair and blue eyes, and a girl with brown hair and brown eyes especially were looking at him.

"G-Goodmorning.." Koshiro stuttered out before slowly making his way to his seat.

"You know you shouldn't be late as often as you are..this is a very important year for you and everyone else, considering this is your last year in middle school.  Once you graduate and go on to Highschool the world with be a lot harsher on you. Let this be a lesson to all of you." The teacher said while glaring at Koshiro annoyedly.

"It won't happen again.." Koshiro said before setting his bag down and sitting down in his seat.

"I guess his boyfriend didn't wake him up for school this time huh?" A random kid said as everyone in the class started to laugh, except for the black haired guy and brown haired girl.

The boy with black hair clicked his teeth while looking off to the side. "Shut the hell up.." he whispered to himself.

"Hey why didn't you wake him up?" The brown haired girl whispered to the black haired guy.

"It's not my job to wake him up every day..besides, I just forgot this time what about it?" Saburo responded with an annoyed tone to his voice.

"Sure.." Kaori said before looking over at Koshiro a bit worried.

The teacher started to teach the other students as they all paid close attention, except for a certain somebody.

Koshiro was looking out the window, being in deep thought as he stared out at the gloomy looking sky. "Night after night I stay up, rarely getting sleep in hope that I'll work up the courage to better myself. This world is wicked, but the people living here are a lot more wicked. If I could become strong then I could turn that into something positive, right?"

Hours later school had ended, and Koshiro was the first person to grab his things and storm out of the classroom. Kaori watched him as he did before sighing and walking out as well.

"It's time..we're getting close to graduation and the only way I'll get into the school of my dreams is by being strong!" He yelled out as he passed a bunch of people.

Koshiro could sense the negativity that the people had within so he started to greet everyone with a cheerful smile and a handshake, causing there spirits to immediately uplift.

Kaori and Saburo were walking home together as they looked at Koshiro a bit confused. "How is he doing that?" Kaori questioned while staring at the cheerful Koshiro.

Saburo looked at Koshiro for a bit before closing his eyes and continuing to walk. "Let's just go.." he responded calmly.

Koshiro made it into his house and looked at himself deeply in the mirror. "There's only one problem with that goal though..majority of everyone in this world has summoning powers...I don't though..and for that I was always teased and picked on, or atleast that's why I think." he thought to himself with a saddened smile before walking out of the bathroom.

Koshiro stood in his room while looking at the wall a bit nervously. "O-okay..you can do this.." he said to himself. "Strength, Speed, technique..I need to develop those to get into the school I want."

Koshiro was sweating slightly with a very tensed body and face. He had a very determined shine in his eyes as he looked at the wall. "You can't do it..you will only mess up."  A deep voice stated in his mind that clouded his head with negative thoughts as he continued to try. Tensioned filled the room as he tried to work up the courage to try but quickly relaxed his body and gave up.

He started to breath a bit heavily as he frowned immensely. "D-dang it!!" He screamed from frustration as he grabbed his blankets from the ground and threw them across the room.

Heavy breaths filled the room as he stood there with clinched fists and teeth. "This world is so awful..The amount of life energy taken by the government is terrible..people are suffering and they pretend that they don't care.." he thought as he slowly relaxed his body and sat down, looking at the floor. "I want to be strong enough to save these people from this...." he continued to think before getting mad again. "but I'm too weak!" He grabbed a water bottled and forcefully threw it at the wall out of anger with tears in his eyes.

A sudden knock came to his door which quickly caught his attention. He rubbed the tears away from his eyes and quickly got up to walk to the door.

Once he opened the door he looked outside but no one was there. His eyes slowly made its way to the ground, and there was A pamphlet. His  eyes immediately widened before he reached down at the ground and grabbed the pamphlet. "School Of Hero's.." Koshiro said, surprised.

'Apply for S.H now for a chance to get into the school of your dreams. School will start a year from now and you will have to fight other people who apply and only the top 15 students will be able to get in. Help us fight the corruption of this government and put an end to the higher ups, once and for all.' The pamphlet stated, and as Koshiro read it, he felt as though it was a sign for him to continue trying.

The pamphlet gave him hope that he can be A Hero and save the people of not only this city, but this country. His eyes shined slightly but there was noticeable doubt in his shining eyes as well, that were buried underneath all that optimism. "One year..I'll apply right now and one year I'll fight to get in.." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before slowly opening them determinedly again. "You can do this Koshiro.." he said to himself as he stared out at the broken down city.
