Chapter 19: Justice's Dilemma

Mc's POV

"Lucias... Who are they?"

Asia asked as soon as she saw me carrying two girls on my shoulders before placing them gently on the sofa.

"These are the girls that a quest told me to save, if I didn't found then at all, they would've have become lab rats"

I honestly answered her causing Yami listening on the side to flinch from hearing the word 'lab rats' as she looked at the two girls laying down on the sofa.

"She smell... weird, I can smell the scent of death on this devil"

One of the heads of Cerberus said as she went towards Iris on the sofa while the other 2 heads were pinning Kuroka on the ground.

"Help me nya!" (Kuroka)

Kuroka shouted as she got out from their grip, running away at full speed from Cerberus.

"Capture the cat!" (Cerberus)

The 2 of them said as they chased Kuroka who was running away in her cat form.

"Master, why did you bring her corpse here?"

Lily asked with a conflicted expression on her face while looking at me.

"I'm going to revive her, and cure the other girl from her condition"

I answered while looking at the body of the 2 girls before facing Nia, who just came out of her concentration from using her angel.

"Who are they, Honjou?"

"Iris Gremory, age 1003, the deceased wife of the current Devil King, Sirzechs Lucifer. Strength is comparable to a lower Satan-Class devil"

"She died after giving birth to her son, Milicas Gremory. After her death Sirzechs Gremory, married Grayfia Lucifuge, the an ex-criminal who supported the old satan faction to fight against the anti-satan faction 990 years ago after the Great War. She was saved by Sirzechs Lucifer and cleared her name, due to her gratitude she insisted on becoming the maid for the Gremorys"

The House of Gremory... The one who prevented Shirone's execution caused by the 'crimes' of Kuroka. According to Kuroka, she pleaded them to save Shirone from her execution by allowing them to read her memory, to see the crimes that the Naberius Family did and prove her innocence to save Shirone. Unfortunately they weren't able to clear Kuroka's name due to the lack of evidence to prove her innocence since the council wouldn't believe it until they show them hard evidence like documents, journal, or even confession from one of the members of the Naberius family, even if Kuroka reveals herself to them, they will instantly kill her on the spot because as Nia have revealed to us, the council already knew about their crimes, they just kept quite and killed anyone who can reveal this "stain" to the public.

The council is biased towards pure-blooded devils and would do anything to protect them even if they have to resort to unethical means.

'Tch... If it weren't for the quest, I would've not even think about allying ourselves with those bastards'

I thought as a flash of anger appeared on my face, but I quickly calmed myself down since planning in the guidance of anger will only cause our downfall and failure.

After I calmed down thanks to my skill, I faced Nia who was looking at me with an understanding look as I asked her a another question with a serious expression on my face.

"Is that all?"

"Yes, that is all the vital information about Iris Gremory"

"How about the other one?"

I asked while pointing at Ingvild who was placed on the sofa beside him.

"Ingvild Leviathan, a descendant of the 'original' Leviathan that ruled the underworld as a demon king along with Lucifer before the Great War. She was in a state of coma for 100 years after she was inflicted by a disease called the devil sleeping disease, and was bought to the underworld in hopes for them to cure her disease. She is also the current holder of the new high-tier Longinus, Nereid Kyrie, that allows her to control any dragons and the sea"

"How's her condition?"

"She is slowly recovering due the awakening of her sacred gear as it supplied her body with mana to restore it's original functions, but it will still take at least 5-7 years until her body can fully recover. Right now she is in a dire situation since she is stuck between the Old Satan Faction, and the New devil faction. The new devil faction will want her dead due to her linage and the old satan faction will turn her into a killing machine if they ever get their hands on her"

'Figures... The anger from the damage dealt by the Great War that was led by the old satan faction will forever remain in the hearts of the devils now, even though the 4 maous are dead and their respective clans have fallen, the knowledge of some of the descendants of the original 4 being alive might cause them to think irrationally, it's better if she stayed with us'

"... What are the chances of them joining us?"

I asked Nia with a serious expression on his face, waiting for her answer.

"If we reveal Ingvild's situation after we cure her, we can guarantee that she will join us since she has nowhere else to go... The only problem is..."

"Iris Gremory"

"Yes, she will be heartbroken once she found out that her own son recognized another woman as his own mother, without even knowing his real mother, and from Sirzechs for immediate replacing her without hesitation after her death"

"... What are your thoughts about it, Honjou, what do you advise that we should do?"

"I think it's better for her to know the truth since, if she is kept in the dark it might hurt her even more. Revealing that she is alive will cause a commotion in the underworld, but we can use it in the future to ensure that we can form an alliance with the devil's faction. Also, based on her personality she would rather let them be rather than interfere due to her love towards her only son, since her appearance might cause a strain on the current happy family that Sirzechs constructed with Grayfia"

"Then... We'll let them decide if they join or not, the penalty isn't that severe anyway, I can handle the penalty with time"

Lucias said before taking out a bottle of Resurrection pill that he obtained when he was still trapped inside an instant dungeon in the last.

I instantly slapped myself to get my mind out of the illusion caused by the curse before looking at Yuu.

"Don't worry, my ability isn't something that the natural laws of the universe can stop"

"Lucias-sama, I think that you're underestimating the laws of death far too much'

Valerie who was watching at the side reminded, since she now have the knowledge about everything related to the realm of life and death after I trained her for her to obtain the skill [Mental Fortify] and gave her 1 million skill points to max out all of her skills along with Elmenhilde and Flandre who's powers are now unsealed thanks to Mukuro, but for some reason she couldn't unlock the seal on her memories.

"You're underestimating his ability, vampire, his ability is somewhat connected to the natural laws, so even if he breaks one of those laws, he will be unaffected due to his ability"

Azazel defended while holding her notepad and pen while looking at me with extreme curiosity.

"... Then, I guess it's fine but please be careful, Lucias-sama" (Valerie)

Valerie said as I took out two pills from the bottle and feed them to the two women lying on the sofa as I used my magic to guide the the muscles in their throat to swallow the pill down.

As soon as they swallowed the pill green light covered their entire body as their pale skin returned to its rosy glow while their thin body started to gain more fat, slowly becoming healthier by every minute that passed.

"This is fascinating"

Azazel muttered as she wrote down her observation in her notepad, staring intently at the body of the two girls.

"Let them rest for the mean time and let their stamina recover, even though the pill completely healed them, their stamina was drain during this process since the pill sped up the natural regeneration of their body"

"Where should we place them, Lucias?" (Asia)

"Just let them use the guest room for the time being, Kurumi, can you make your clones stay close to them so that they can call for us when they wake up?"

"Ara Ara, you didn't need to ask, Lucias~"

Kurumi said as two clones came out from her shadows.

"Ara Lucias~ I always wanted to meet you, the boy who stole the or-" (Clone #1)

"D-Don't say it, me!" (Clone #2)

"What are you being shy for, me?" (Clone #1)

"T-that is-" (Clone #2)

"Ara Ara my clones are so lively" (Kurumi)

"Can you tell me in detail about your ability, Kurumi-san?" (Azazel)

"My ability, is it? Of course" (Kurumi)

Kurumi smiled before explaining her angel and her abilities to Azazel in great detail.

'That's weird, I never saw Kurumi be this generous about the information about her power'

I thought while looking at the two of them before I went towards Iris and carried her in a princess style as I made his way towards the guest room with Justice following me from behind while holding Ingvild on her arm.

"I never knew that your ability was so righteous kid"

Justice said with a large smile on her face while looking towards me.

"Is it? I.. don't know but every since I got my ability, it seems like everything has already been planned from the start. The drops given to me when I was trapped inside the instant dungeon became an essential tool that I needed to meet everyone that I know now. Maybe it is... since my ability contains the will of the biblical God, I don't know its purpose but based on the series of quest that it has given me, it wants me to do two things, gather allies and defeat those who mean harm to the world"

"I am truly grateful towards my ability, since thanks to that I was able to meet this unique yet annoying girls... Thanks to my ability I was able to meet you, Justice"

Justice who heard me for some reason suddenly blushed red before smacking me on the head as she ran towards the room.

Justice's POV

"Damn, why is my heart beating so fast!"

I muttered as I entered the room and placed the girl on my arms on the bed before I held my chest, I felt really bashful and extremely happy from what he said... even with Helltaker, I never felt like this before.

"That kid is a natural womaniser"

I said as a I felt my cheeks suddenly becoming hot.

"Are you alright, Justice?"

Lucias who just came in asked as I felt my heartbeat race just from sensing him causing me to unconsciously raise my hands up to my face to hide my cheeks.

'Even though I said that I hoped that he won't become a lolicon in the future... it looks like I can't even follow my own advice... Damn'

"Are you sick, Justice? You're face is really red you know"

Lucias asked as I felt him slowly walked towards me, each step is causing my heart to beat faster as he arrived in front of me.

"Hmm..."

Lucias stared at me before his body released incredible amount of smoke, covering the entire room which made me confused.

"Damn... Natsumi is messing around again"

I heard Lucias say in a deep magnetic voice causing my heart to thump as the smoke slowly disappeared revealing a handsome 18 year old boy with short golden hair and sharp eyes.

'Its a good thing I mastered [Magic Sense] or else I won't be able to see this'

I mentally sighed in relief as I notice Lucias staring at me with his golden eyes causing me to immediately become flustered.

"???"

Lucias looking at me with a confused expression on his face before placing his forehead against mine causing my blood to immediately travel up to my face before I punched him on the stomach due to reflex causing him to launch towards the wall of the room as he fell down unconscious on the ground.

"S-Sorry about that kid"

I hurriedly ran towards him with a worried expression before lifting his upper body off of the ground with my right arm as I observed his condition.

"... It's a good things that you're bodies tough"

I sighed in relief as I saw no fatal injuries on his body.

I carried him on my arms and placed him on another bed inside the guest room.

"You cheeky kid, don't blame me for what happens in the future"

I said with a sloppy grin on my face as I gently kissed his cheek before running out of the room.
