Ch 2 Ruin and Manipulation

THREE MONTHS AGO

Henry Caster was the man of the hour six months ago when he headed an exploration of a set of underground ruins. He and 12 others worked their way through a labyrinth of corridors to find Helixian technology, including a space faring ship that was easily more than 1000 years ahead of their own ship capabilities.

The human race has ventured far into space by the year 8,015 AD several wars and near extinction finally bringing the entire human race together to make a world wide effort to better humanities chances of survival and no more than 50 years later humans Became space traveling experts first colonizing the moon as a platform to reach mars and terraform its atmosphere before they had become space capable for more than 100 years they came into contact with teleportation technology that connected to an unknown place the language on the technology was advanced with more than 350 characters after some deliberations and explorations with the technology they had found that the teleport device would send object to what is now called Helix due to the spiral like effects during the teleportation and an unknown fact to the public being that a lot of notes found on a dead being in the ruins hinted at genetic manipulation.

Henry was given a year to figure out how to work this new advanced technology or his companies funding would be cut and his reputation and social standing would be greatly affected this new space faring technology was not responsive to the tinkering and input of the researchers the ship had advanced batteries that put out zero ambient power and supplied the wiring of the ship with absurd amounts of power they concluded that the ship was powered and space capable at this very moment but it was unresponsive the only other conclusion was that it interacted only with the genetics of its original creators, hence why they needed a man back on earth named Joseph but all attempts to get him off world have all failed.

Henry decided to no longer play the nice guy and do what he did best so he made some calls and the very next day photoshopped images of Joseph and other women were anonymously posted on his social media pages as well as over 37 customer complaints about him at work. His family and fiancé removed themselves from his life as well as Joseph got fired all by lunch the next day. When Joseph went home to his apartment he found he'd been robbed and that his bank accounts savings were emptied leaving him with just enough credits to make it to Helix. It was surprising how good of friends Joseph had though.... He was back on his feet a week later his coworker let him borrow cloths and his best friend lent him 2,000 credits to get him started on rebuilding his life. Infuriated by the next week Henry paid an enormous amount of money to have Joseph blacklisted from all forms of work including working fast food and having the 3 closest friends of Joseph killed. It still took until recently to get Joseph to leave towards Helix by hiring actors to befriend him and put him up for the night.

Present Day.

Henry got the call from Carla that she'd gotten the call from Joseph, saying he's up for some tests, and the study. Only Joseph had no clue that he was the only recorded person to have genetic markers anywhere near what the dried up bones of the Helixian researcher had.
