"One more word about Celossia and I will change my mind about letting you out of the sea when this is over." He threatened, effectively shutting the goddess up. He walked on, wondering what her exact intention was. Although she sounded as though she was offering him consolation as well as a solution to enjoy the remaining part of his marriage before he and Delaney were to part ways eternally, he knew her better than to think she would have a good intention. 

She loved him—in ways he didn't want to be loved by any being who was not Delaney—and in the past, she had used some of these tactics to make trouble in paradise. How could he trust her when she had done this before? Perhaps she was trying to cause a rift between him and Delaney like she had done before.
