But he couldn't help suspecting her. His rational analysis told him she was suspicious. The previous encounters, all the information he knew about her, her sneers from the darkness, her cold and reserved gaze toward Ruby, her wicked craftiness at such a young age... Yet, he didn't want to accept any of this.

So, he was agitated, feeling as if something was suffocating him, making him uneasy and uncomfortable. His whole body felt off, and he couldn't think or do anything. He even wanted to scream to let it all out.

He had never lost his composure like this before.

Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed his coat and rushed out. As he passed through the hall, Mrs. Anderson, who was watching TV, asked, "James, where are you going so late?"

Without turning back, James replied, "Mom, I have an urgent matter to attend to. I'll be gone for a couple of days!"

Mrs. Anderson hurriedly chased after him, shouting, "In a few days, you have a banquet to attend with your father!"
